Why dating below my ‘class’ hard – Kiddwaya

Kiddwaya, son of billionaire Terry Waya and reality star, has opened up about why he avoids dating women who are financially unstable.

In a podcast appearance on Off The Record, he stated that women from lower-income backgrounds often develop a sense of entitlement when exposed to his affluent lifestyle.

The billionaire heir said they may be humble and appreciative, but over time, they start comparing themselves to others and expecting luxury items and experiences.

Kiddwaya noted that this shift in attitude can lead to relationship issues, with entitlement sometimes manifesting as rudeness.

He further opined that bringing someone from a lower financial background into his world can be challenging, and he’s learned to prioritise relationships with individuals who share similar values and energy.

He said: “At first, they’re thankful everything feels new and exciting. But after a few months, they start comparing themselves to others.

“They want the same bags, the same trips, and soon, what was once special becomes expected. The entitlement sets in and sometimes turns into rudeness. That’s been my biggest issue dating someone from a lower class and bringing them into my lifestyle.”

My ‘occupation’ is being a rich man’s son – Kiddwaya

Kiddwaya, son of billionaire Terry Waya has revealed that his “occupation” is living off his dad’s wealth and enjoying life to the fullest.

The BBNaija star said he’s a man of leisure, not interested in work or business and prioritises having fun and travelling with friends.

In a podcast appearance on ‘Off The Record’, Kiddwaya said his idea of living life to the fullest involves waking up, deciding on a destination, and partying with friends.

According to him, he’s unapologetic about living off his dad’s wealth and says he’s giving the world “the truth they want to hear”, that he’s a rich man’s son living life to the fullest.

He said: “What I do for a living is that I wake up, I decide what destination I want to fly to, I go that destination, I’m with my boys and girls and have fun; we drink, eat, and party. And we repeat.

“I’m a man of leisure. My view on life is live it to the fullest. I’m not interested in working. I can tell you I am into oil and trade but that is not my truth. It was my truth before, trying to figure out how to tell the world what I do. The world is not trying to hear that. So, I’m giving them my truth and also the truth they want to hear, which is I am a rich man’s son and I’m living my life January to January. I’m having fun.”

Kiddwaya also shared his views on marriage, saying he’d marry someone who shares his love for fun and doesn’t plan to change his lifestyle.

He claims to “work hard” to maintain his integrity and family’s reputation by avoiding scandals, arguing that many would misuse his privileges if they were in his shoes.

Reality star Kiddwaya has cleared the air on the viral report that he spent $30,000 on a plate of jollof rice at Whitemoney’s restaurant.

Speaking in a recent interview with Trend Centrl on YouTube, the reality star clarified that the viral story was misunderstood, stressing that his intention was to support a friend’s business rather than splurge that much on food.

“First of all, I was supporting a friend’s business. That’s it. Jollof rice was the concept. I follow Whitemoney on his food -his food is great. So he makes jollof rice, chicken, and all that kind of stuff. I was supporting his brand, helping him push it. The jollof rice was just the concept of it.”

He added that social media users twisted the narrative after seeing pictures of him at the restaurant.

“You know when you post on social media, people will assume it’s that. But really, who’s spending thirty grand on one plate of jollof rice?” he asked. “So I let them run with the story. I’m on Twitter, reading everything they said – I just said okay, cool. Never try to fight it.”

Kiddwaya concluded by saying his gesture was simply about showing love and support for Whitemoney’s growing food brand.

Kiddwaya slams critics over online donation backlash

Reality star Kiddwaya has criticised the mindset of some Africans following backlash he received after asking for donations online.

Speaking in a recent interview with Trend Centrl on YouTube, he addressed the controversy, saying that Africans often misunderstand the concept of fundraising.

He said: “Two things – Bill Gates Foundation asks for donations all the time amongst their rich friends and to people. It’s just an African mentality. That’s the problem with Africans -our level of thinking sometimes is very suppressed and very minimal. We don’t like to think properly and intellectually.”

He went on to explain that requesting donations is a normal practice globally.

“It’s not a ‘wow’ thing to ask for money. That’s how you sustain yourself,” he added.

When asked about how the public perceives him compared to organisations like UNICEF, Kiddwaya said he wasn’t bothered.

“All I care about is that kid’s life I’m saving in hospital. In fact,  I shouldn’t have responded to them when I had that backlash. I shouldn’t have even responded to be honest with you but my team said just respond because you know whatever. But deep down I didn’t actually care because they’re not going to hospitals with me seeing people thanking me for saving their lives and stuff and putting people through school who need education,” he said.

Kiddwaya reacts to backlash after seeking donations for Benue victims

Former Big Brother Naija housemate Kiddwaya has responded to backlash he received after seeking donations for Benue victims through his foundation.

He clarified that his intention was genuine, driven by his connection to Benue as a native son.

Kiddwaya, the son of billionaire Terry Waya, emphasised that the crisis in Benue, which has resulted in loss of life and displacement, is the real tragedy.

He acknowledged the pain and misunderstanding caused by his donation post and chose to take it down out of respect for the voices of his critics.

However, he affirmed commitment to supporting his people, stating that he will continue to use his platform, voice, and resources to help those in need, regardless of the criticism.

His statement reads: “I’ve seen the comments. I hear the backlash. I didn’t post about Benue for clout, I posted because I genuinely care. I am a Benue indigene and a proud Benue man. What’s happening there breaks my heart, and I couldn’t just look away. I took the donation post down because I saw the pain and misunderstanding it caused, not because I’m ashamed of helping, but because I respect your voices, even the angry ones. But let’s not forget what this is really about. Right now, people in Benue are being attacked. Families are being torn apart. Lives are being lost.

Innocent children, mothers, and fathers, killed or displaced from their homes.

That’s the real tragedy here. That’s what hurts and staying silent in the face of this kind of pain didn’t feel right.

The Kiddwaya Foundation was built for moments like this, to step in where help is needed most. And like all foundations, community support is what gives it life.

I can’t fix this crisis alone. But I can, and will, do my part.

“Moving forward, I will continue on this journey of supporting my people. Nonetheless, with more of us standing together, we can do even more, for Benue, and for every Nigerian going through pain like this. Let me say this clearly: I will not stop caring. I will not stop showing up when lives are on the line.

“And I will continue to use what I have, my voice, my platform, and my resources, to help, no matter what anyone says.

This isn’t about me. It never was.

It’s about the Benue people, and i hope that when the noise fades, we’ll all remember what truly matters”.
