    However, that narrative is about to change as popular comedian Koboko Master partners with Transcorp Hilton Abuja to introduce a refreshing twist to the city’s festive calendar.

    The duo is set to host “1st 2 LAFF”, an electrifying entertainment event designed to redefine how Abuja residents celebrate the first day of the year.

    Combining comedy, music, and good vibes, the show promises to light up the Federal Capital Territory with laughter, rhythm, and unforgettable moments.

    The maiden edition of 1st 2 LAFF will not only serve as a celebration but also a thanksgiving experience for those spending their New Year’s Day in Abuja. The goal is to create a new annual tradition that residents and visitors can look forward to every January 1st.

    The star-studded lineup for the event includes some of Nigeria’s most celebrated comedians such as Kenny Blaq, MC Edo Pikin, Mr Patrick, and Dan the Humorous, among others. Guests will also enjoy live music performances, a live band, and the energetic mixes of DJ Romie, ensuring a night filled with laughter and nonstop entertainment.

    Koboko Master has described 1st 2 LAFF as “a dream born out of the need to give Abuja residents a reason to smile and celebrate the new year memorably.”

    The highly anticipated show will take place on January 1, 2026, at the prestigious Congress Hall, Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, starting from 5:00 PM.

    With its exciting blend of comedy, music, and a touch of class, 1st 2 LAFF promises to be the beginning of a new entertainment tradition in the FCT, one that turns New Year’s Day from a quiet affair into a day of pure fun and laughter.

    One of the finest stand-up comedians in Nigeria, Gbadamosi ThankGod Benard known by his stage name, Koboko Master, is set to bring exceptional festival of laughter to residents of Minna, Niger state as he hits the city with his comedy show. 

    The comedy show, tagged Niger State Lafta with Koboko Master is part of activities lined up to mark the country’s Independence anniversary. 

    Expected to perform include, Magnito Acapella, Nedu, Clint da Drunk, Akpororo and MC Edo Pikin. 

    Others include, Mr. Paul, Mazi Prospa, Deacon Megoro, I Am Shy, MC Bless, Beejay and Temiz. 

    His choice of Minna for this comedy show is part of the state government’s drive to bring entertainment to the doorstep of the people of Niger, who are largely happy people and receptive to visitors. 

    Beyond the heavy investment of the state governor, Mohammed Umar Bago in agriculture and environment, entertainment is one area he has focused on to show that social life is very robust in the state.

    The state has positioned itself in recent times as using entertainment as a tool to unite the people. Niger State Lafta with Koboko Master also has the backing and support of the State Internal Revenue Service 

    The show will hold at Posh Event Marque on 3rd October and is expected to have a high presence of top government officials in the state.

    Recently, he made history by becoming the first comedian to shut down the newly commissioned 5000-capacity event centre at the prestigious Transcorp Hilton Hotel Abuja with his “In Da Beginning” comedy show. 

    The event on June 15, 2025, had high profile guests, comprising big players in the entertainment industry, business executives, captains of industry and politically exposed persons. 

    He emerged the first comedian to attract guests that filled up the 5000-capacity hall to brim as fans were still rushing for table reservation at the last minute.

    One of Abuja finest comedians, Mr. Gbadamosi ThankGod Benard, known by the stage name, Koboko Master is on the verge of making history as he will be the first comedian in the country to make use of the newly completed 3000-capacity event centre at the prestigious Transcorp Hilton Hotel Abuja for his comedy show, tagged “In Da Beginning”. 

    It was the same venue used by billionaire socialite, Obinna Iyiegbu popularly known as Obi Cubana, for his star-studded 50th birthday anniversary. 

    It was earlier billed to hold at the Congress Hall but has now been moved to the ultra modern facility, in order to accommodate the high-stake interest the forthcoming comedy show has generated. 

    This is seen as a landmark achievement for Koboko Master who has over the years remained a household name in the country’s comedy space, holding ticket sold-out events across the country. 

    Coming up June 15, 2025, the comedy show will have top names in the industry such as Acapella, De Stalker, Gordons, MC Edo Pikin, Arinze Baba, ATM and lots of others thrill the guests. 

    The upcoming comedy show according to organisers has recorded a massive ticket sales, in addition to several partnership deals organisations are striking to give their brands a visibility at the show.

    Scheduled for the Transcorp Hilton on June 15, the show is undoubtedly going to be a remarkable and ‘best well-put-together comedy show for the year’. 

    Responding to question on what audience should anticipate, the organiser, Gbadamosi ThankGod Benard, professionally known as Koboko Master said: The audience are expected to have the best of stand-up comedy show experience as we have articulatedly and carefully selected the industry stars to feature in this year’s edition”.

    Unveiling the A-list of comedians to share the stage with him, Koboko Master informed: “A comedy grandmaster in the person of Gordons will be on stage; one of the most realistic and sensational comedian Acapella will also be there; one of Nigeria’s funnest and longest serving comedian Destalker will be there to crack the ribs of the audience.

    “The wave of the moment, MC Monica will also thrill the fun-seeking audience; one of Nigerian man who has conquered content creating and stand-up comedy in the person of MC EdoPikin will be there; we will also have a US-based comedian Mr Patrick on stage and, of course, one of Nigerian finest South-South comedian MC Casino will also be there among others.”

    These are additional to the host, Koboko Master, who, ordinarily on his own, can hold the stage for over one hour of good humor and relative jokes.
