    Kolomoni MFB partners AMMBAN for expansion

    Kolomoni Microfinance Bank has entered into partnership with the Association of Mobile Money and Bank Agents in Nigeria (AMMBAN) to provide AfriGO debit cards to millions of Nigerians.

    It said the collaboration was to leverage on Kolomoni’s expertise and AMMBAN’s extensive network of mobile money and bank agents to drive financial inclusion across the country.

    Managing Director, Kolomoni Microfinance Bank, Yusuf Adeojo, said the would enable its customers and AMMBAN members to benefit from AfriGO’s advanced debit card technology.

    “What this means, by extension, is faster transactions, enhanced security features, exclusive rewards, and unparalleled convenience.

    “This partnership underscores Kolomoni’s commitment to redefining financial services in Nigeria while driving financial empowerment.” On his part, Managing Director and CEO of AfriGOpay Financial Services Ltd, Mrs. Ebehijie Momoh, said her firm was committed to driving financial inclusion by providing secure, accessible, and affordable payment solutions to the unbanked and underbanked segments in Nigeria.

    “With AfriGO cards, customers can enjoy seamless, secure and convenient access to digital financial services, including cash withdrawals, physical and online payments.

    Chairman of AMMBAN. Dr. Obioha Oti, stated that the goal of AMMBAN was to facilitate a wide adoption of cashless transactions in the grassroots areas of Nigeria.

    “By equipping them with AfriGO debit cards and other financial tools from Kolomoni, we are fostering economic growth and expanding financial access across the country and this has always been our vision.

    “It takes cashless transactions and e-payments to the grassroots to enable mobile phone users make payments, do transfers, buy airtime, pay utility bills and conduct any such financial transaction without cash exchange, but through their mobile phones.”

    Bank gives grants to supports female entrepreneurs

    Kolomoni Microfinance Bank has awarded grants to five female entrepreneurs to boost their businesses, as part of its commitment to promoting women in business.

    The initiative, organized to mark International Women’s Day, was themed “Accelerate Her Growth.” 

    According to the bank, the decision to support women was inspired by World Bank data, which shows that 41 percent of Nigeria’s micro-businesses are owned by women.

    The winners were selected after sharing their entrepreneurial journeys and presenting business proposals for financial assistance from the bank.

    Delivering the keynote address, business strategist Ebun Akinwale emphasized that entrepreneurship requires resilience, creativity, and passion. 

    She illustrated this by recounting her own business challenges and highlighting the critical role passion plays in overcoming obstacles.

    The event underscored Kolomoni’s mission to empower women and support small businesses in Nigeria.

    Other Speakers were Odunayo Oyebolu, a seasoned entrepreneur; Victori Ajiboye, a marketing strategist with global experience; and Simi Ojumu, a finance expert.

    The beneficiaries said the financial support was a validation of their hard work and a boost of confidence toward scaling their businesses.
