    MAVIN Records’ senior lady, Tiwa Savage, has expressed her enthusiasm for Korede Bello’s debut album ‘Belloved’ which is scheduled for release today.

    In a short video posted by Korede on his Instagram page, Tiwa Savage was seen wearing a blue denim jacket and a hat expressing how much she appreciates Korede Bello’s album, congratulating him and going on to reveal she is incredibly proud of him.

    She said in the 23 seconds video: “So, I’m literally here listening to the final touches of the Belloved album; a few days before Korede drops it, and it’s incredible! I’m super excited! I can’t wait for you guys to experience it. Korede Mega Superstar, I love you – congratulations!”

    The video has since amassed numerous views with hundreds of fans promising to purchase the album when it’s out and some lauding Korede’s effort; declaring his craft as classic.

  • KOREDE BELLO, REEKADO BANKS SHUT DOWN IMSU

    TELECOMS firm, Globacom has wrapped up its campus to campus concert with a superlative show at the Imo State University (IMSU), Owerri.

    The show which took place last weekend at the main auditorium of the institution, featured top class entertainers; Reekado Banks, Korede Bello while 2CanTalk, the Enugu-based comedian held the audience spell-bound all evening.

    The artistes gave the university community a yuletide treat with comedy, dance and music at their best; and the crowd savoured every moment of the show, swaying, laughing and clapping  to the music and jokes from the stage.

    The event began with commendable performances from up-coming talents from the university community like Dimky, Roger-Lino, Lee Ray, Lambasixx, Ok David and Young Prince who gave a good account of their talents.

    But the heat of the night was turned up when Reekado banks stepped on stage with his Looku Looku track. From that he shifted the equally hit tracks like Chop Am, Sugar Baby; Problem and Katapot. He ended with the award-winning Oluwa Ni song.

    Korede Bello followed up on Reekado’s sterling performance with a superb show that really connected with the crowd. He sang his Mungo Park track and the hall erupted in wild excitement. He followed it up with the One and Only, Adaobi, Do It Like That and Relative tracks in quick succession.

    He closed the night with Godwin and the hall just merged into one large choir as they sang along.

    There was also a beauty pageant which produced the IMSU “Glo Campus Data Dude” Nnamdi Tochukwu emerged winner to take homeN100,000 cash prize, while Okpala Ugochukwu, Raphael Chindah, Egbule Obinna and Chiamonwu Victor won N50,000 each.

    In the female category, Amamihe Jennifer was crowned IMSU “Glo Campus Data Diva” and she won N100,000.  Runners-up in that category who went home with N50,000 each  included Nzediegwu Adaugu, Emetubelem Grace, Okochie Theresa and Mojekwu Chineye.

    In a twist of events following his exit from Triple MG, Nigerian pop singer, Iyanya has announced that he has officially signed with Mavin Records.

    The artiste made the announcement with the release of a new song featuring Don Jazzy and Dr Sid, titled Up 2 Sumting, the new song, which is produced by Mavin Records’ Don Jazzy, was released on Monday, which happens to be the singer’s 30th birthday.

    The news, which generated a bit of excitement on social networks, was broken by Don Jazzy via his Twitter handle.

    “Iyanya brings his own unique style and sound to the Mavin Records family. From the first time I stepped into the studio with him, there was an instant chemistry and energy.

    “He is an amazing talent and he has great musical versatility. This is an exciting time for us and our fans have a lot of great music to look forward to,” Jazzy stated.

    Iyanya, on his part, says that he is at a decision-making curve in his music career where he has to make the right professional and creative decisions.

    “At this point, I realised the need to put in solid structures in place to move to the next level of my career. I think I have found that professional and creative backbone in Mavin Records,” Iyanya stated.

    With this move, Iyanya now has Tiwa Savage, Dr Sid, D’Prince, Korede Bello, Reekado Banks and Di’Ja as label mates.

    Korede Bello celebrates fifth birthday

    Popular singer Korede Bello celebrated his fifth birthday on Monday 29 February 2016. Although the Godwin crooner clocked 20 that day, this is only his fifth official birthday as he was born on a leap year.

    The artiste spent the day with children with Down Syndrome and later went to visit a ‘home for children’ where he said ‘the kids were kind enough to share their Amala with the me.’

    The Mavin records act signed to the label in 2014 alongside Reekado Banks and Dija, and his career has been on the rise ever since. He started singing at the age of seven, and recorded his first song as a secondary school student. He is presently pursuing a Higher Diploma program in Mass Communications at the Nigerian Institute of Journalism, Ogba, Lagos.

    After releasing his first single; African Princess, he put out a number of singles featuring popular label mates Tiwa Savage, Don Jazzy, Di’Ja, Reekado Banks, Dr Sid, and D Prince.

    Korede Bello advert draws ire of Fans

    Korede Bello recently drew the ire of his fans for an advert he did. The Godwin crooner, on Monday January 19 shared a picture of himself wearing a police uniform and beret as part of the new police campaign titled Everyone is a Police, following his appointment as the first youth ambassador for the Nigeria Police last year.

    The campaign seeks to inform the populaces of the fact that security is a general concern of all Nigerians, hence the need for collective interest in the safety of the country.

    Unfortunately, this action drew the ire of his fans, many of whom have derogatory things to say about the force. They took to his page to criticize the campaign, and lambasted him for being ignorant, going on to say that the police will always be corrupt, and never any ones friend.

    In one of the tweets, Bonus_dgreat said: “I reported a case of child abuse and being cruel to a child as a concerned citizen, police still collect my Rabah.. tell me why I shouldn’t look the other way next time.. go sleep with your advert jor.”

    Another, Radiobae said: “Trust the police indeed, those are very cheap lies.”

    Headies 2015: Korede Bello, Reekado Banks battle for Next Rated

    For the first time in the history of The Headies Award, two artistes from the same record label; Korede Bello and Reekado Banks, both of Mavin Records, have been nominated in the Next Rated category, alongside Cynthia Morgan, Lil Kesh, and Kiss Daniel.

    Ayoleyi Hanniel Solomon, better known by his stage name Reekado Banks, is a recording artist, rapper and songwriter, signed to Mavin Records. He went by the stage name Spicy prior to bagging a record deal with the aforementioned label.

    Korede Bello on the other hand is best known for his hit single, God Win, a semi-gospel and pop song which topped many music charts in Nigeria.

    After the release of his first single which got relatively positive reviews, he was introduced to Don Jazzy by his manager Casmir Uwaegbute after which they recorded some songs together which got Don Jazzy impressed. On February 28, 2014, he got signed to Mavin Records under which he has recorded popular songs like katapot, corner and sugar baby.

    The Headies 2015 comes up on Wednesday, Dec. 30.

    MONDAY night was full of excitement as Korede Bello who recently changed his name to the smashing street anthem Godwin, took to twitter to reward fans.

    His fans fondly called #Bellovers were massively engaged on the social platform as the give-away was centered on quiz about his trending music video, Godwin.

    Tagged #GodwinAlerts, the singer asked random questions about his Godwin video and rewarded winners with cash.

    Addressing the success of the quiz via his twitter handle, he said: “This is just my own little way of appreciating you guys and return for the love and support you keep showing me #Bellovers.”

    He has also announced that he would do something similar on Facebook and Instagram.

    Tee Mac, Shan George, Korede Bello win big at Top Naija Music Awards

    Winners of the Top Naija Music Awards were full of excitement, as they all got what they’ve all worked for in honour of their success and full participation to the development of the Nigerian entertainment industry. The just wrapped-up Top Naija Music Awards was a night to behold, as top celebrities who graced the occasion had fun-filled performances and inspirational illustration to encourage emerging acts.

    Mavin’s finest, Reekado Banks whose ‘Chop Am’ and ‘Katapot’ singles are currently banging clubs won the Revelation Of The Year category, and Korede Bello whose ‘GodWin’ single has almost become a street anthem, won the Outstanding Emerging Artiste Of The Year at the just-concluded Top Naija Music Awards held in Lagos.

    Nigeria’s multi-talented maestro flutist with cross-cultural Itsekiri and Swiss roots, Dr.Tee Mac Omatshola ISELI (MFR) wins the Legendary Award category. Also, Milestone Achievement Awards winners include Shan George and Chief Larry Williams.

    In his interview with The Nation, Tee Mac who won the Legendary Award sees hard-work as the best legacy any entertainer should be proud of. “There is no short-cut to reaching your apex. You have to be hard-working a million times to be good.”

    When asked how he makes himself relevant till date, he said: “I exercise with no contradiction, I don’t drink or smoke, neither I womanise; for me, I look out for myself basically. And one thing that has helped me shape my career so far is that I believe in good music, I always disregard with cheap music.”

    The veteran flutist also challenged emerging acts to be hard-working and different. “You don’t try to be like someone that has made it big in the industry, rather discover your unique selling point and capitalize more on it.”

    According to one of the awards nominees who won the Female High-life Act With Potential Shuleydee, “Top Naija music is one of its kind and I’m very grateful to be part of this platform. More so, the award night is not just focusing on the allies we have in the entertainment industry, but also prioritizes bringing into visibility, the potentials at the street level.”
