    I was locked up, slammed N500m defamatory suit – Lady who accused L.A.X of having Herpes

    A lady identified as Edna on X, has issued a statement after being locked up in custody for alleging that singer Damilola Afolabi, known professionally as L.A.X, has herpes.

    In a series of tweets posted on X (formerly Twitter) on her social media page on January 2, 2024, the lady, alleged that the singer has herpes.

    Her statement was made in response to a loved-up photo shared online by the singer.

    In reaction to the singer’s photos, @edna_reese quoted the post, claiming the singer has the herpes virus.

    She wrote: ‘Rasaki wicked herpes giver. Omo! Love and light to you.’

    L.A.X, upon seeing this, vowed to take legal actions for being accused wrongly. 

    A few days later, the lady, in a new post on her media page, revealed that she was arrested shortly after making the statement about L.A.X having the herpes virus.

    She added that she had been released after spending two days in custody.

    Her statement also mentioned a demand for 500 million Naira over alleged defamation of the singer.

    She wrote: “I was locked up, and I just got out. There is freedom of speech, but I cannot guarantee freedom after speech.”

    “I lost my freedom, and I came out to a 500 million Naira letter of demand over defamatory information. Sorry, Zaza! I will not be commenting on this again, guys.”

    I will drink alcohol for monetary benefit, says L.A.X

    Popular singer, Damilola Afolabi, popularly known as L.A.X has revealed the only reason he would bend his rule on taking alcohol.

    The former Starboy Entertainment artiste said he would start drinking alcohol if he is offered N100 million.

    He stated this in a recent interview with The Beat 99.9 FM, Lagos, while admitting that money was the main reason artistes undertake tours.

    He said: “If there is money involved, even if it is Saudi Arabia, I will go to perform.

    “Right now, I don’t drink but if you give me N100 million, I will drink two bottles of rozay.”

    L.A.X also revealed during the interview that: “I feel underrated in the Nigerian music industry. But I don’t think it’s that serious to me. I’m just doing what I love.

    “And I feel like people around the world are seeing what I am doing. So it’s not like I am not doing something.

    “Everybody has a journey. Everybody has the path that they are supposed to follow in life.

    “So I just feel like some people will be underrated. And for you to even be underrated, that means you are rated.”
