Provision a necessity in relationships, Ladipoe schools men

Rapper Ladipoe has expressed skepticism about viral stories online that portray men being taken advantage of financially by their partners.

He recently appeared on the Beat FM’s Midday Show, where he discussed his views on money and relationships.

According to Ladipoe, in a healthy relationship, financial responsibilities should be mutually understood.

He emphasised that if he invites someone to dinner, he expects to pay, and doesn’t understand why this is often a topic of conversation.

The rapper acknowledged that men often feel the need to provide in relationships, but is unsure if this is a positive or negative trait.

However, he praised his current partner, who shows appreciation and reciprocates with gestures, motivating him to provide for her.

Ladipoe emphasised that nobody wants to be taken advantage of, and that mutual respect and understanding are essential in navigating financial responsibilities in relationships.

“I really wonder if people are telling the truth with the stories they say online because if you’re with a reasonable person, it usually works itself out. If I invite you to dinner, I’m paying. I don’t understand why there’s even a conversation about it. I feel like I don’t believe people’s stories, I don’t think that they’re true.

“As a guy, there’s this energy that you need to provide. I don’t know if that’s a positive thing or not, a man needs to realise that there’s more beyond just being able to provide but it’s an important criteria in a relationship.

“Except for my mum or an aunty or family, no woman has ever sent me money. There was this one time when my big cousin sent me 60 dollars, I was in college at the time. That’s the one time I can probably remember, asides my mum no girl.

“That’s why I’m with the person I’m with, she gives me things ‘just because.’ she pours into me as well and that’s what drives me to say I want to provide for this person but nobody wants to be taken advantage of,” he said.

Ladipoe speaks on Wizkid, Davido’s feud

Rapper Ladipoe has shared his thoughts on the ongoing rivalry between Afrobeats giants Wizkid and Davido in an interview with City 105.1FM.

He expressed skepticism about the genuineness of their feud, hinting that it might be a promotional tactic.

Ladipoe said he admires both artists from afar, having met them briefly.

He said: “Honest truth, honestly, I have no idea. And why I say so is because this is not the first time that there has been something like this between these two juggernaut artistes y’know. So, who is to say? And I’m not personally close to either of them to be able to look behind the veil. I’ve been somebody that has gotten to admire them from afar. I’ve definitely shaken Wizkid’s hand a couple of times. I’ve shaken David’s hand a couple of times. And in both ways, I respect them.

“You know what I feel? I fall in the fanbase that feels that they are just too savvy and business minded to not one day say “pull up, Davido and Wizkid concert or Wizkid and Davido concert”. I just feel like una dey whine me. That’s my own personal feeling: una dey whine me. They are too big to not see the business opportunity in front of them. So, that’s my take. But whether it’s real or not, who is to say?

“Beef for promoting stuff is an old tactic. It’s effective. I don’t love it personally, but it’s tried and tested, and it works. It’s not my preferred strategy, but it works.”
