Brazilian Police foil alleged planned attack on Lady Gaga at concert

Brazilian authorities have foiled a plot to bomb Lady Gaga’s concert in Rio de Janeiro.

According to the police, the suspects were planning to use improvised explosive devices to carry out the attack and gain notoriety on social media.

One person has been taken into custody in connection with the failed plot.

The concert, part of Lady Gaga’s Mayhem tour, was held at the iconic Copacabana venue.

Lady Gaga had previously announced the show on her Instagram, expressing her excitement to perform in Rio.

Despite the foiled plot, the concert went ahead as planned, with Lady Gaga delivering a performance to her enthusiastic fans.

The authorities’ swift action prevented what could have been a disastrous event, ensuring the safety of the large crowd that gathered to see the singer perform.

Lady Gaga, Céline Dion to duet  for  Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony

One posted photos of herself at the Louvre, gushing: “Every time I return to Paris, I remember there’s so much beauty and joy still to experience in the world”. La deuxième was spotted on a floating piano on the river Seine.

France’s president Emmanuel Macron has just about kept his counsel up to now but there is growing certainty that a slow tease comprising layers of confidentiality seductively dropped over recent days will end with a duet by Céline Dion and Lady Gaga at the glittering opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris tonight.

And not any old duet. The global superstars are expected to perform Édith Piaf’s ‘La Vie en Rose’, in a show of soft French power that a momentarily overwhelmed Macron evidently found rather difficult to keep to himself when lightly grillé about Dion’s Instagram posts.

“Apparently she has arrived in Paris, it’s great!” he confessed to the French television channel France 2. “I would be immensely happy if she could be at this opening ceremony, like all our compatriots.”

“I will not reveal anything, what [opening ceremony director] Thomas Jolly and all his teams have prepared”, Macron added with a gallic twinkle in his eye. “There is also a surprise.”

He concluded, with a smile: “I am not responsible for his schedule.”

Dion’s rumoured appearance would mark her first performance since she was forced to halt her touring schedule and step away from the spotlight after being diagnosed in December 2022 with Stiff Person Syndrome, a  rare, chronic neurological disorder that causes muscle stiffness and sometimes intense spasms. She last performed live in New York in the spring of 2020.

According to RTL, every effort has been made to keep the French-Canadian singer relaxed ahead of her comeback.

She arrived in Paris on a private jet trip from her home in Vegas and is staying in a sumptuous suite at the Royal Monceau on the Champs Elysee, from which Gaga, the American singer-song writer who was born Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, was coincidentally also seen emerging this week, blowing kisses to her fans.

According to some media reports, Dion is being paid a tidy €2m fee and will be dressed in a pink and black feather cape from Dior. As for Gaga, the tight security around the Seine did not stop one intrepid fan posting a photograph of someone who looked very much like her by a white piano on a floating island on the river on Monday.

Neither women will find it difficult linguistically to perform “La Vie en Rose”. Dion was born in French-speaking Charlemagne, Quebec, a small town from Montreal.

Grammys: White roses are the motif, women’s equality the message

Even the most outrageous outfits of feathers, sequins or lace included a simple white rose at the Grammy Awards show’s red carpet on Sunday as the glitterati of the music world showed support for women’s equality and freedom from sexual harassment.

The roses – worn or held by both sexes on the red carpet outside New York’s Madison Square Garden – were a sign of solidarity with the Time’s Up movement, spreading from Hollywood to the music industry.

Lady Gaga, nominated for best pop vocal album for “Joanne” showed up in a Goth-inspired Armani gown in midnight black with a high Victorian collar, sparkling lace and a voluminous train. Perched high on her shoulder was a demure nosegay of white rose buds.

Kelly Clarkson held a long-stemmed rose in her hand as she chatted on the carpet, its white contrasting with her black gown which included elaborate gold embroidered sleeves.

The rose, Clarkson said, “represents hope and peace and sympathy and peace, and I thought those are very lovely things for any human being to encompass.”

“Girls Just Want to Have Fun” singer Cyndi Lauper, who launches a tour with Rod Stewart this summer, told E television network host Ryan Seacrest that women make up 51 percent of the workforce.

“It’s about time we’re paid equally,” said the pantsuit-clad Lauper, highlighting the movement’s focus on gender-based salary disparities.

InStyle fashion news director Eric Wilson said the striking white dresses seen on musicians such as Hailee Steinfeld, Cardi B, Sza and Lana del Rey packed a more effective punch than the ubiquitous roses.

The white rose as a visual cue is underwhelming in effect in the same way that the music industry’s reaction to this crisis has been underwhelming,” said Wilson.

But the freestyle fashion spirit of the Grammys means its red carpet is “not about being the best dressed person, it’s about having fun,” Wilson said.

That was certainly the case with singer Pink, who found room for a white rose amid the flurry of fuchsia, electric blue and jet black marabou feathers making up her dress.

The bosom-exposing bodice of Bebe Rexha’s La Perla gown appeared too scant to accommodate a flower. Rexha opted instead to put her rose on her clutch.
Songwriter Diane Warren, meanwhile, wore gloves worthy of Wonder Woman, with the words “Girl” and “Power” scrawled across each set of knuckles.

The roses were not just for the women. Nominee Khalid wore a white rose on a cool white jacket worn over a turtleneck in chartreuse, while Sam Smith’s flower contrasted with his emerald green suit.

Sting, accompanied by musician Shaggy, looked dapper with a jaunty silk ascot, pink shirt and white handkerchief folded to resemble a rose in the pocket of his black jacket.

Singer Joy Villa – who made headlines in 2017 with her “Make America Great Again” gown in support of President Donald Trump – made another highly charged statement.

Eschewing the white roses worn by others, Villa showed off a white gown hand-painted with the image of a fetus in a rainbow-colored womb, accessorized by a “Choose Life” purse.

  • Hollywood gloomy over Trump’s victory

    Hollywood gloomy over Trump’s victory

…Lady Gaga protests outside Trump Tower

    …Katy Perry speaks ‘revolution’

Wearing s gloomy face, controversial American singer, Lady Gaga, staged a protest outside Trump Tower in New York City after Republican Candidate; Donald Trump was announced winner of Tuesday elections in the U.S. Gaga, like several of her colleagues had thrown their weights behind Hillary Clinton’s candidacy. Thus, Gaga’s disposition represented the feeling of most celebrities.

She bore a banner reading “love trumps hate”.

The last few months have been quite dramatic in the hope to get out the vote for Hillary Clinton, as Hollywood celebrities went all the hog to show support for the Democratic Party candidate who eventually lost to Trump, the radical, undiplomatic and obviously feared candidate of the Republican Party.

Never has America witness the kind of aggressive support for a candidate who could have made history as their first female president in a contest that brought her close contender so much hate, over campaign promises that were perceived to be capable of hindering freedom.

The most prominent of the Clinton campaigners was Katy Perry, who went naked on the social media in a kind of sex appeal that is known to suffice as marketing tool.

“TOMORROW, I USE MY BODY AS CLICK BAIT TO HELP CHANGE THE WORLD,” she had said on Twitter and Instagram. She did as promised on Monday.

Katy has been stumping for Hillary since the primaries, trending with hashtags like #ImWithHer ball gown. And just after Trump’s “nasty woman” comment, she was one of the first celebs to order a shirt which she wore while campaigning for Hillary on a college campus.

Katy even used Halloween as an excuse to make headlines for Hillary, undergoing a total transformation, with the help of professional makeup artists and prosthetics, just as she let Clinton use her hit song “Roar” in a final wave of powerful campaign adverts.

Another celeb who showed so much commitment to the Clinton course was Taylor Swift. The singer, who is never known to endorse any celebrity, spotted a shoulder less turtleneck inspired by an exquisite photo of Hillary Clinton, which analysts say was her subtle way of endorsing the Democratic Party candidate without alienating any of her Trump-supporting fans.

Perhaps the most unprecedented support was the one from Arnold Schwarzenegger, a Republican and former California Governor who, in October made headlines when he publicly announced that he would not vote for Donald Trump.

He said: “For the first time since I became a citizen in 1983, I will not vote for the Republican candidate for president. Like many Americans, I’ve been conflicted this election….But as proud as I am to label myself a Republican, there is one label I hold above all else — American. So I want to take a moment to remind my fellow Republicans that it is not only acceptable to choose your country over your party—it is your duty.”

Chloë Grace Moretz is another celeb who’s been an outspoken supporter of Hillary since the beginning. She doesn’t just talk the talk though—she spent time in Michigan registering people to vote earlier this year.

There is also Kim Kardashian who took to Facebook in September to officially endorse Hillary Clinton, posting a selfie and proclaiming that she was “with her.”

Miley Cyrus also hit up a campus to show her support for Hillary, and she wore a perfectly Miley, totally unforgettable outfit to do it.

Beyoncé on her part had encouraged fans during her Tidal X performance to vote, enjoining fans to save their support for Barack Obama. “I know it seems like things are bad, but if you think that can’t get worse just ask your grandparents. Remember Barack Obama is our President. You made that happen, young people made that happen,” she said to the crowd. “We are not helpless. The fire is still burning. Please go out and vote this November. Too many people have died and sacrificed so much for us to have our voice.” she officially showed her support for Hillary on November 4 at a campaign concert in Cleveland, Ohio.

Now that the table has turned for them, still in shock, they found time for the social media.

Madonna tweeted ‘we never give up’ after Trump was named America’s new president.

Katy Perry tweeted her dismay after Hillary lost the election, saying: “Do not sit still. Do not weep. MOVE. We are not a nation that will let HATE lead us.”

Continuing, she said: “WE WILL NEVER BE SILENCED. #LOVETRUMPSHATE,” before adding: “THE REVOLUTION IS COMING.”

LADY GAGA wants 88-year-old singer to perform at her wedding

LADY Gaga, the ‘Bad Romance’ hitmaker, who got engaged to actor Taylor Kinney on Valentine’s Day after four years of dating, has reportedly asked the 88-year-old singer to perform at their upcoming nuptials.

The blonde beauty – whose real name is Stefani Germanotta – released an album of duets, ‘Cheek to Cheek,’ with Tony last year have asked him to perform the title track together.

A source claims the 28-year-old star has already started planning the event and wants to tie the knot at her $23 million mansion in Malibu, California later this year.

“The estate is set in the hills above Malibu and is surrounded by undeveloped mountains. She calls it the ‘closest thing to heaven.”

Lady Gaga recently revealed she started crying when ‘Chicago Fire’ star Taylor proposed.

“First he gave me a Ring Pop. That was kind of amazing and I was crying, I was so excited. I said, ‘Yes!’ right away and then he pulled out the heart-shaped diamond. First it was candy. I was happy with the candy.” She said.

Lady Gaga mourns dog, pays tribute

Lady Gaga is said to be devastated, perhaps more so, for missing out in saying goodbye to her family’s pet dog before it was buried.

The artiste’s pooch, called Alice, was put to sleep by a vet after being diagnosed with cancer, but the singer was abroad promoting her new album, Artpop, when the rest of her family paid their last respects to the dog.

Gaga has taken to Twitter to share her memories with fans and reveals her regret at not being there at the dog’s final hours.

“My puppy, Alice, died. We had to put her down; cancer ate away at a little angel. My daddy is so sad. We all are, as we lost a member of our family.

“I love being an entertainer but it is so painful sometimes to be away from home. Seventeen years she held on, so many memories. Nothing beats family.

“I remember her laying my bed, she knew when I was sad, or when I was ill. I should have been there. I just pray Alice found her wonderland.”
