    Ex-Beauty Queen named Lagos Women Run Ambassador

    The organisers of Lagos Women Run have  named a former beauty queen, Ololade Ayelabola, as an Ambassador.

    This was done after a meeting between the officials of the LWR and Ayelabola in Lagos at the weekend 

    Coordinator of the Lagos Women Run, Tayo Popoola, noted that the journey of Ayelabola embodies perseverance and authentic passion for the fashion industry.

    Popoola added that Ayelabola is a woman whose progress can inspire other women to be strong and be among the best in all endeavours.

    She said: “Her participation in prestigious competitions like Miss Unique and Most Beautiful Campus Queen Nigeria showcases not only her modelling prowess but also her ability to maintain academic excellence through disciplined time management.

     “Ms. Ayelabola’s ambitious vision to set a Guinness World Record for the longest catwalk distance 130km in four days aligns perfectly with our brand values of pushing boundaries and inspiring others. Her feat is like trekking from Lagos to Ibadan.

    In her response, Ayelabola said: “I am proud to be one of the Ambassadors for the Lagos Women Run 2024. I just completed my attempt to break the Guinness world record for the longest distance walked on a catwalk by a model. The Lagos women run is an event that celebrates and inspire women from different walks of life, to encourage them to embrace physical fitness which translates to mental fitness and every aspect of their lives.     Meanwhile, plans are already in top gear for the 2024 edition of the Lagos Women Run slated for November 7.

    Ikenne bubbles as NNL  holds pre-season seminar for coaches, media officers

    Coaches and Media Officers of clubs of the country’s second tier League have arrived Remo Stars Sports Complex Ikenne, Ogun State for the NNL Pre-season seminar which kicks off today, October, 28.

    The seminar which is coming on the heels of the successes recorded in the maiden edition held last year is being organised to prepare coaches and media officers well ahead of the commencement of the 2024/2025 League season.

    According to the NNL, seasoned coaches and resource persons that will handle the seminar includes renowned retired FIFA badged referee, Chukwudi Chukwujekwu, former Super Eagles Assistant coach Fatai Amoo, Alphonsus Dike, Thiago Conde, media practitioners Tony  Ubani, John Joshua Akanji and Oluchi Tobex Tobechukwu among others.

    Speaking ahead of the seminar, Chairman of NNL, George Aluo, assured that all arrangement has been put in place for a seamless seminar just as he expressed hope that it will meet the objectives of the League Board which the maiden edition contributed greatly in making last year’s season very exciting.

    He was also full of praises to the proprietor of Remo Stars Football Club, Kunle Soname, for sponsoring the seminar, saying that members of his board are proud of what he’s doing to change the narratives of the country’s football ecosystem.

    “We have put all logistics on ground to ensure we have a successful seminar and we hope that at the end, the participants will be well equipped to do those things that will help in consolidating on the successes we achieved last season.

    ” It’s equally important that I commend Kunle Soname for believing in us and accepting to sponsor the seminar for the second year and we’re ever grateful to his contributions in moving the country’s football forward,” he stressed.
