Lagos by-election: Ojelabi, APC council congratulate Laguda

The chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos state, Cornelius Ojelabi, has congratulated Fuad Laguda on his victory in the Surulere federal constituency by-election.

Ojelabi said Laguda’s victory is a testament to the support and trust the people have in the party.

He urged the new parliamentarian to translate the people’s trust in him into positive action.

He said: “I congratulate you and all the people of Surulere Federal Constituency I on this victory. This victory should swing you to work immediately. Please prioritise the overall interest of the people who elected you beyond personal interests.

“I also thank all the party hierarchy for their support and prayers all through the journey. Our party will always remember all your sacrifices by ensuring that it continues to make life comfortable by providing the dividends of democracy which is the peak of good governance to its members.

“Your victory carries the hopes of many who believe that the legacy you met shall be sustained by you, and I urge you to make positive impacts on the lives of the people.”

The APC professional council, in a congratulatory message by its national director-general, Seyi Bamigbade, said Laguda’s victory is an indication of the people’s satisfaction with the APC’s leadership.

According to Bamigbade, the victory is an indication that the people are happy with the party’s track record in the state. He was confident that Laguda would justify the mandate given him by entrenching effective performance as the people’s representative.

The council also passed a vote of confidence in President Bola Tinubu and his economic blueprint, hoping that the economic challenges facing the country will soon be forgotten.

It appealed to governors to make more efforts towards wealth creation ‘so that prosperity will trickle down to the grassroots and improve the people’s living standards’

APC Council drums up support for Laguda

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Professional Council has expressed support for Fuad Kayode Laguda, candidate of the APC in Saturday’s by-election in Surulere Federal Constituency of Lagos State.

The council assured voters that Laguda would build on the legacy of his predecessor, now Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila.

Vice Chairman (Lagos State), Dayo Decker, expressed this optimism when he led a house to house campaign within the constituency. He said the campaign is in line with directive of the National Director-General, Dr. Seyi Bamigbade, in order to secure victory for APC.

The campaign has continued in the last two weeks.

According to Decker, Bamigbade believes the party’s record in the last 20 years through Gbajabiamila will encourage the people to renew its mandate.

He quoted Bamigbade as saying: “We are not losing sleep in this election. The people know those who have served them right in the last 20 years and those who have no presence in our state.

We are proud of the legacy left behind by Femi Gbajabiamila in infrastructure, human capital development, youth empowerment and many other indices of development.

“Come Saturday, the people will vote for continuity, they will vote for accelerated development and a secure future for their children.”
