Non-working ladies earn more than working ladies – Laura Ikeji

Influencer and fashion entrepreneur Laura Ikeji-Kanu has argued that many non-working girls live better and earn more than hardworking women simply because they are beautiful.

In a video on Instagram, Laura expressed concerns about how society seems to reward beauty over genuine hard work.

She noted that girls who don’t work often get more financial rewards and attention than those who put in real effort to build a career or business.

According to her: “We are in a country where girls who do not work earn more than girls who work hard, all because they are beautiful. Girls who are fine make so much money”.

Laura encouraged people to support hardworking girls, saying, “Please, if you see any hard working girls, always try to support them, no matter what.”

The statement has received mixed reactions, with some praising Laura for speaking the truth and others arguing that beauty and influence have become new forms of work in the digital age.

Laura Ikeji, Carolyna Hutchings’ feud unsettled as RHOL reunion ends

The final episode of the Real Housewives of Lagos Season 3 reunion was a pressure cooker of unresolved tensions, most notably the escalating feud between Carolyna Hutchings and Laura Ikeji.

Laura’s blunt declaration, “There will never be a middle ground,” became the episode’s defining statement, underscoring the seemingly insurmountable barriers within this group.

While Diiadem’s initial attempt at peacemaking with Mariam offered a fleeting moment of hope, the subsequent confrontation between Carolyna and Laura quickly extinguished it, highlighting deeply entrenched animosity and the hopes of making sure things were beginning to work out between them.

The strained dynamic between Carolyna and Laura also remained a central conflict, characterised by Laura’s unapologetic stance and Carolyna’s firm insistence on accountability. Accusations of gossip and underlying mistrust further complicated their already fractured relationship.

The reunion also revisited the raw and uncomfortable clash between Carolyna and Dabota Lawson, driven by Dabota’s serious accusation, creating a palpable sense of unease among the other housewives, who collectively emphasised the importance of non-violence.

Despite the overwhelming interpersonal drama, the episode offered brief glimpses into the women’s professional lives as they discussed their various business ventures and future aspirations. However, these moments were largely overshadowed by the intense personal conflicts. The episode concluded with a symbolic toast, a gesture that felt somewhat at odds with the deep-seated animosities that had dominated the proceedings.

Ultimately, Laura’s resolute pronouncement served as a stark reminder of the enduring conflicts within the RHOL circle, suggesting that the path to reconciliation, for some, may be nonexistent.
