  • LG lifts Kano Specialist Hospital

    As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities, LG Electronics, a leading brand in consumer electronics and home appliances, visited Murtala Muhammed Specialist Hospital Kano, where it donated some units of All New Gencool Inverter Air Conditioners, Jet Cool Air Conditioners as well as Treated Mosquito Nets to the hospital.

    The brand has received accolades from Nigerian consumers over the years, for having their interest at heart in the development of cutting edge technological products. The company embarked on this gesture in order to enhance health care delivery services in Nigeria. At the event, officials of LG Electronics interacted freely with the hospital management as well as members of the community. The donated items are expected to meet the needs of the health institution in their mission to provide people in the community with excellent health care services.

    Head of Corporate Marketing, LG Electronics West Africa Operations, Mr. Hari Elluru, who spoke during the occasion said: “We have remained competitive while improving sustainability; we have enabled investment and innovation required to deploy new technologies safely and responsibly develop progressive products.” He said further: “We believe that the air conditioning units as well as the other items we are donating today will improve the service delivery in the hospital and provide the enabling environment for the patients.”

    At the occasion to represent Fouani Nigeria limited, was the Kano Regional Manager, Fouani Nigeria Limited, Mr. Abbas Ghamloush, who said: “This visit which is part of LG Electronics’ Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities is aimed at reaching out to health institutions in the country. It is our firm belief that the items we are donating today will go a long way to empower this health facility as well as the people of this community in their quest to enjoy sound health by empowering the hospital staff to do their jobs more efficiently.”

    Chief Medical Director, Murtala Muhammed Specialist Hospital Kano, Dr. Nura Idris, who received the items on behalf of the hospital, commended LG Electronics for the bold and kind initiative. “We are proud to be the recipients of these distinctively designed air conditioning units and the treated mosquito nets. We appreciate LG Electronics’ generosity and good will to our hospital, which is clearly demonstrated by this donation.”

     

  • LG wins 90 awards at CES 2018

    LG Electronics (LG) was honoured with more than 90 awards at CES 2018, the world’s gathering place for all those who thrive in the business of consumer technology. This year’s event held at Las Vegas Convention Centre, Nevada, United States.

    Disclosing this to news men at the LG’s brand shop in Ogba, Lagos, Managing Director, LG Electronics West Africa, Mr Taeick Son, said top on the awards was the official CES Best TV Product Award for the fourth consecutive year, this time for the new LG AI OLED TV (model C8). LG also earned numerous best-of-show honours for the LG InstaView ThinQ Refrigerator and LG 4K UHD Projector.

    The visibly enthusiastic Son said that LG received top accolades from world top reviewer’s of consumer electronics, such as Engadget, The Verge, Digital Trends, Mashable, SlashGear, TechRadar, Pocket-lint, T3, Stuff Magazine and others in addition to 19 CES Innovation Awards from the Consumer Technology Association including the Best of Innovation Award for the LG 4K UHD Projector – across home appliance, home entertainment and mobile communications categories.

    LG’s 2018 innovations unveiled at CES included home appliances and home entertainment products with LG ThinQ AI, including the first TVs with the Google Assistant built-in, most notably the LG SIGNATURE AI OLED TV W8 featuring ThinQ which won more than 10 awards at CES.

    The door-in-door refrigerator followed in award wins, offering a streamlined food management system through LG’s webOS platform and Amazon Alexa integration that makes shopping for groceries, playing music, checking the weather, managing your calendar and more, simple.     LG electronics offer 10-year warranty on core technologies

    In a bid to satisfy its consumers and deliver next level convenience, LG Electronics, a leader in home appliances and consumer electronics, recently achieved unprecedented technological advancements with the core technology designed for some of its products.

    This core technology breakthrough gave LG the confidence to back it up with 10-year warranty, first of its kind in home appliance category in Nigeria. The products covered by the 10-year warranty include LGRefrigerators and Chest Freezers, with Linear and Smart Inverter Compressors, LGWashing Machines with Inverter Direct Drive Motor, LGCharcoal Lighting Heater in microwave oven and LGCordless vacuum cleaner with Smart Inverter Motor.

    Speaking on the innovation, at a press conference last week, the General Manager, Home Appliances Division, LG Electronics, West Africa operations, Mr. Jiung Park, said: “At LG, we understand that durability is just as important as strong performance. A large range of our products come backed by 10-year warranty, ensuring worry-free operation year after year. LG Electronics is the first electronic brand in Nigeria to offer a decade-long warranty of reliability on a large array of its product offerings. The 10-year warranty offering covers only specific parts of the selected products from the date of purchase.”

    At the press conference, held at the Lekki Phase 1 office of LG, Mr. Jiung Park noted that LG Door in Door and Side by side refrigeratorutilises LG’s revolutionary Inverter Linear Compressor which enables the refrigerator to consume 32 percent less energy and produce 25 percent less noise.

    Speaking onLG Chest freezer, he explained that it is fitted with a powerful compressor that boast of a 10-year warranty.  On the company’sFront Load / Top Load Washing Machine with Inverter Direct Drive Motor, Mr. Park emphasised that it is designed to provide convenience, energy saving and durability of up to 10 year to consumers. “LG is the first brand globally to offer 10-year warranty in washing machine market.”

    Responding to a question on the performance capability of the LG Cordless vacuum cleaner, Mr. Park noted that “the Vacuum Cleaner was another quantum leap in technology, every vacuum cleaner in the world has cord to power it during cleaning. LG cordless cleaner is cord free, providing consumers cordless freedom. The motor has a guaranteed operational life of 1,200 hours and backed up by LG’s 10-year warranty.”

    The smartphone industry is gradually experiencing techno-logical evolution with the introduction of modular technology with greater advancement in technology. LG Electronics being an innovative technology driven organisation has set the pace with the introduction ofG5 smartphone modular technology which has a universal compatibility.

    Speaking at the launch of the product  at the LG office at Lekki Phase 1, Lagos, Mr. Steve Seungeui Lee, General Manager Mobile Communications Division, LG Electronics West Africa operations, explained that the modular design philosophy has taken root in a variety of industries, leading to a new wave of modular products that improve flexibility and usability in a number of key areas.

    “The application of modular technology represents a way forward for smartphones, bringing the same level of customisation to smartphone hardware that was once only possible for software,” enthused the General Manager.

    The new focus in innovation, Lee explained will be on differentiating each module, which he said will lead to greater specialisation. The G5modular smartphone (device) is made out of separate components which enables users to replace or upgrade certain functions independently.

    European experts score LG front washing machine high

    LG Electronics’ (LG) range of front loading washing machines earned top ratings in Spain and Italy for their superior performance and efficient operation. Influential Spanish consumer title OCU-CompraMaestra and Italian consumer advocacy organisation AltroConsumo gave LG washing machine the highest marks in their latest product rankings.

    In tests carried out for the March edition of Spain’s OCU-Compra Maestro, LG’s front-loading washing machine (Model F10B8NDPA) scored 60 points, earning it the “MejordelAnalisis” (Best Product) award. The machines were rated on their ability in 15 categories, including washing, rinsing, drying, energy efficiency, noise level and convenience. Of the 11 products tested by the publication, LG’s was also the only model to receive a “Purchase” recommendation. In particular, LG’s washing machine was praised for its superior rinsing performance and for leaving behind the least amount of detergent residue.

    In Italy, LG’s front load washing machine (Model F12A8TDA) secured the top spot in a product comparison conducted by leading non-profit consumer organisation, Altro Con-sumo. LG’s washer was tested against 15 other models available in the Italian market and the LG model took top place for its superior washing and rinsing performance. AltroConsumo magazine also commended the LG washer for its low noise during the spin-dry cycle and competitive price.
