    Livestock farming: Origin Tech Group boss, FG collaborate

    As a major private sector stakeholder in the agri-business value chain and food sovereignty, the Executive Chairman of Origin Tech Group Nigeria, Prince Samuel Joseph Samuel, continues to explore partnerships with allied stakeholders within the agri-business value chain towards ensuring the successful implementation of the Hope Agenda of the President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

    Recently, Samuel and the Hon Minister, Ministry of Livestock, Alhaji Idi Mukhtar, met in Abuja in line with the aspiration of the Federal Ministry of Livestock to collaborate through strategic policies, research and private-sector engagement, to modernise livestock farming, creating jobs and boosting Nigeria’s economy.

    The Federal Ministry of Livestock Development was established by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to primarily transform the livestock sector into a sustainable and competitive industry in Nigeria. The ministry aims to enhance livestock productivity, ensure food security and drive economic growth through various initiatives while committed to addressing key challenges such as poor infrastructure and conflicts between farmers and herders.

    Ekiti urges women to embrace livestock farming

    Ekiti State Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (L-PRES) has urged women to embrace livestock farming, to tackle poverty and enhance food security.

    The L-PRES State Coordinator, Olayinka Adedipe, promised that the World Bank assisted project would connect them with avalanche of opportunities within the livestock value chain to improve their livelihoods.

    He spoke in Ado-Ekiti during a one-day sensitisation programme for female livestock farmers with the theme: “Promoting And Encouraging Women In Livestock Sub-Sector”, in commemoration of the 2025 International Women’s Day.

    Adedipe, represented by the state L-PRES Extension Officer, Mrs Olubunmi Ajayi, said the role of women in the project could not be overemphasised, stressing the need to include them as critical stakeholders in achieving L-PRES objectives.
