I pledged to build 1000 churches before going to Heaven – Oyedepo

Founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide Bishop David Oyedepo has revealed his ambitious goal of constructing 1,000 churches as a legacy before reaching heaven.

He criticised those who own buses but refuse to use them for church activities on Sundays, citing excuses like high fuel costs.

Oyedepo emphasised the importance of heartfelt giving, sharing his personal vow to God before opening his first bank account to contribute to building new churches.

Oyedepo challenged the congregation to reflect the values of their faith community, warning that one’s actions mirror their true priorities.

He said: “Some may even have buses that are doing nothing on Sunday, but they won’t bring them out. Because, ah, 2,000 Naira per half liter. If it’s in your heart, go put it in your heart. Before I had the first bank account, I said, Jesus, if you ever bless me, I want to be part of building new churches. How many have heard that before.

“You have always heard everything.  I told Jesus, I don’t want to come to heaven without a thousand churches built in your name. Over to you, you better wake up. Can I tell you something? Everybody’s a reflection of where he belongs. It’s time you start reflecting what happens in here”.

  • 2019: Bishop Oyedepo predicts peace in Nigeria

Bishop David Oyedepo, the Founder and President Bishop, Living Faith Church Worldwide, on Saturday predicted that nothing would disturb the peace of Nigeria and its story would change for the better in the year 2019.

Oyedepo made the declaration at the just concluded annual prophetic gathering of the Winners’ family, christened the “Dominion”, in a satellite telecast of the church.

In the telecast monitored by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja, the cleric also declared that 2019 would be a year of “I have Dominion”.

“Nothing will tamper with the peace of Nigeria; the story will change for the better in the name of Jesus.

“Nigeria shall not see bloodshed, the Prince of Peace will continue to dominate in Nigeria, in Africa and Nigeria is declared blessed.

“Anywhere you step, accident is forbidden; death will not come near you and our nation.

“Anything that is of grace in my life, I freely release upon you today.

“God has opened the year 2019 to us, celebrate Him because its our year of “I have Dominion,” he said.

The Bishop added that the year 2019 would be a year of humbling testimonies for Nigeria and pace-setting testimonies.

He further declared that 2019 would be a colourful year for the nation.

According to the cleric, as long as Jesus has the final say on the issues of Nigeria, it will experience greatness.

Oyedepo said that there would be no more cause of alarm in any area of the nation and its citizens.

He advised Christians in Nigeria to delight themselves in the spirit of servant-hood, adding that the spirit of Christ is the spirit of servant-hood.

“The Spirit of Christ is the spirit of servant-hood. As you keep rising on the ladder of leadership, you must retain our spirit of servant-hood, constantly

working to add value to others and be kingdom minded,” he said.

According to him, dedication is at the root of dominion, saying: “Sow yourself as a seed by being totally dedicated to God and His Kingdom’’.

He told his congregation that sacrificial giving guarantees the meeting of all their needs.

“When you engage in taking care of the well-being of others, God is also committed to your well-being,” he explained.

The cleric admonished Christians would engage in meeting the needs of the needy, every barrier on their path of destiny would be crushed.

“Nobody tampers with your life, your career, your family and goes away with it because you are promoted to God’s kingdom.

“God will stand for your defence in the day of trouble. Every sacrificial giver has a defence around him in the day of trouble always have that in mind,” he said.

He reminded his congregation that the Church is not a building; the Church is a people and the Redeemed of the Lord.

“The Church is the Body of Christ, the fullness of Him that fills all things.

“We understand that by redemption we have been repositioned far above all principalities and powers. We also recognise that the Spirit of Faith is the guarantee for the dominion of the Saints over all gang ups of hell,” he stressed.

Oyedepo told his congregation that Shiloh is not a church anniversary, but a place for taking delivery of all their hanging inheritance in Christ.

“Shiloh is not a Church Programme, but a Mountain of answered prayers after the order of Hannah. Shiloh is ordained a platform for the rise of giants among us. Shiloh is a mountain of vision and revelation.

“Shiloh is a prophetic platform for the conferment of dominion both on us as a Church and as individuals, so as to subdue the land before us,” he added.
He said that prophetically, Shiloh was ordained a platform for conferment of dominion upon members of the Winners’ family and Nigeria at large.
“And the whole congregation of the children of Israel assembled together at Shiloh and set up the tabernacle of the congregation there. And the land was subdued before them.’’
According to him, the land was subdued before them “connotes dominion. Therefore, at this event, every participant shall encounter conferment of dominion in all areas of your lives’’.

The Bishop assured that every participant would have a definite encounter with the word of God for their supernatural change of story.

Oyedepo said: “While waiting on the Lord back in 1998 and inquiring about God’s master plan for Canaan land, among other things, God said, He would have us gather annually at Shiloh and that as we do, He will subdue the land before us by granting speedy delivery of our enviable inheritance in Christ.’’

NAN reports that the event which started on Tuesday, would last through Dec. 9, with 55 countries in attendance while 150 other nations watched the proceeding online.

Angola, Botswana, Cameroun, Congo, Cote d’Ivoire, Ethiopia, France and Gabon are some of the nations represented at the Shiloh.

Others are Ghana, Kenya, Liberia and South Africa. While others from Swaziland Tanzania, Uganda, USA, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

The Shiloh 2018 is the 20th edition of the annual Shiloh event of the Living Faith Church worldwide.

EFCC arraigns man for hacking Winners Chapel’s bookstore

The EFCC on Wednesday charged one Chimezie Chuta before a Federal High Court in Lagos for alleged cybercrime.

The accused was charged for allegedly hacking into the online bookstores of the Living Faith Church, popularly known as Winners Chapel.

Chuta, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The EFCC in the charge marked, FHC/L/441C/17, alleged that the accused committed the offence on March 8, 2016.

The accused was alleged to have altered the online data of Dominion Bookstores platform belonging to Living Faith Church Worldwide and created a counterfeit platform.

The alteration was said to be for purposes of conferring economic benefits on himself.

The EFCC said that the actions of the accused had caused the church to lose its publishing unit.

It said that the offences contravened the provisions of Sections 14 and 16 of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition) Act 2015.

After the plea of the accused, the Prosecutor, Mr Ahmed Yerima, asked the court for a trial date, urging it to remand the accused in prison, pending trial.

The Defence Counsel, Mr A. Osagie, also urged the court to order the remand of the accused in EFCC custody.

He told the court that he was only briefed as counsel on Tuesday, and this had made it impossible for him to file the bail application earlier.

The trial judge, Justice Ayokunle Faji, adjourned the matter until February 26 and 27, 2018, for trial, and ordered that the accused be remanded in prison custody.

The judge however said that the bail application will be given a date for hearing

  • RCCG: Group urges Adeboye to rescind resignation as G.O.

RCCG: Group urges Adeboye to rescind resignation as G.O.

The Citizens Advocacy for Social and Economic Rights (CASER) has called on Pastor Enoch Adeboye to rescind his resignation as the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).

The call came in a statement issued by the Executive Director of the Abuja-based human rights group, Mr Frank Tietie, on Tuesday.

Tietie said CASER would seek a court order to compel Adeboye to reverse his decision should the “holy man of God’’ refuse to voluntarily do so.

Adeboye stepped down as the General Overseer of the RCCG in Nigeria on Saturday on the basis of the controversial Corporate Governance Code of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria (FRCN).

The code, which stipulates a 20-year maximum tenure for heads of religious groups and civil rights organisations, among other provisions, was suspended by the Federal Government on Monday.

But for the suspension, the regulation could have also seen the exit of other affected men of God from the headship of their churches.

They include Bishop David Oyedepo (Living Faith Church Worldwide aka Winners’ Chapel); Pastor William Kumuyi (Deeper Christian Life Ministry) and Bishop Mike Okonkwo (The Redeemed Evangelical Mission).

Tietie said: “CASER urges the highly revered Pastor Adeboye to change his mind and rescind his resignation as the General Overseer of RCCG.

“Where, therefore, the holy man of God refuses to review his decision to resign, CASER shall seek an order of the court to compel him to remain as the general overseer.’’

He said the group was acting, not only in the interest of members of the RCCG who respect Adeboye, but also in the interest the Church generally.

  • If 2015 comes

In the Church I attend, Living Faith Church Worldwide, popularly known as Winners Chapel, 2015 has already been declared the year of Heaven on Earth.

I can’t wait for the new year to commence to begin to experience the heavenly realm on earth as declared by my Bishop.

Won’t it be nice to enjoy eternal bliss, where there is no sorrow, pain, anguish and many other harrowing experiences that have become the present earthly reality for many?

We live in troubling times that can shake the faith of even the most faithful of men and women.

Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Maiduguri, Rev Oliver Dashe Doeme in his Christmas message last Thursday highlighted the questions that must be going through the mind of victims of the Boko Haram insurgency  in the North Eastern parts of the country who have been injured,  lost family members and their property.

” At this time a lot of questions are being asked by many of us including myself: where is God? Has God abandoned us?  Are we being punished because of our sins? How can God allow the agents of the devil to destroy his innocent children? Is God weak? Can evil triumph over good? Etc.”

Despite the harrowing experiences, Rev Doeme urged Christians to keep their faith alive and should never get discouraged.

” Our faith should make us see beyond the immediate experience and look at the future – that is, after this temporal life with its pains and suffering, we shall share in the eternal glory of our Lord.”

With so much gloom worldwide; terrorism, economic depression, wars and rumours of war, that has left many in a state of despair, some are already wondering if what we are experiencing are not end time signs.

Hopefully, the world will not end before December 31, 2014 and we will all be alive to hope for the best in the new year.

2015 promises to be a crucial year for our country with the general elections scheduled to hold in February . The success or otherwise of particularly the presidential election will determine the future of the country.

Nigerians will have to vote to either retain the Federal Government headed by President Goodluck Jonathan whose performance has left much to be desired or vote for the change promised by the opposition All Progressive Congress (APC).

The tension in the country over the presidential election and others is palpable with threats and counter threats by groups on how they will react to the outcome of the election if it does not favour their candidates.

We hope that the a Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC) will do its best to conduct a free and fair election, while politicians will accept the verdict of the voters and seek legal redress where necessary instead of resorting to violent protests.

In 2015, there will be need for more determined efforts to curb the activities of the terrorists groups who have continued to unleash unimaginable violence on parts of the country with the fear that they may soon strike in other states.

It is very sad that the whereabouts of the over 200 girls kidnapped by the Boko Haram group in Chibok and many others have remained unknown. We cannot afford to continue to live with the fear of where the next bomb will explode and hundreds of persons will be killed.

The military must be sufficiently armed to contain the insurgency and  prevent the terrorists from having  a field day in their operations.

In 2015, the positive impact of the economic measures by the government must be felt in practical terms and not in terms of indicators that has continued to make the average Nigerian poorer.

  • Oyedepo: The secret of a man

One of the most profound quotations by the President of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, popularly known as Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo, which I have held on to dearly since becoming his disciple in 1994 is that “the secret of a man is in his story.

“If you don’t know the story of a man, you can’t know his secret,” he says once in a while whenever he speaks about the secret of his success in ministry and other endeavours.

“ You need to know how my heart pants after God to know my secret. We do nothing in this ministry except as directed by the Lord.”

Last Wednesday at the midweek service of the Church in Lagos, Bishop Oyedepo reiterated the importance of obedience to divine direction which he emphasised has been responsible for the various accomplishments credited to him.

“I would have missed God’s plan for my life if I had been stubborn to heavenly vision for me. Following God can sometimes appear to be madness in the eyes of the world, but I am happy to be mad to follow God’s plan for my life.

“I am what I am by the grace of God and nothing else. You will see the futility of strength, plans, capacity when you are off God’s plan. It takes natural meekness to walk in God’s plan. I thank God for giving me the grace to obey his commandments at every stage of my life and ministry,” Bishop Oyedepo stated.

I testify that Bishop Oyedepo who turned 60 yesterday is indeed a man of God whose story is that of having abiding faith and trust in the Lord to do exceeding and abundantly beyond human comprehension.

Unlike many others who have been distracted by various factors from fulfilling their vision, Bishop Oyedepo has remained focused on his calling and left no one in doubt about his commitment to fulfilling the mandate he received to “liberate the world from every oppression of the devil.”

Coupled with Bishop Oyedepo’s unwavering faith in God’s vision for his life through practice of various biblical principles is his excellent approach to whatever he does, he doesn’t believe in half measures and, notwithstanding being a preacher, he says prayer can’t replace planning.

Former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon, was right when he stated in his congratulatory message that Oyedepo has exceptional ability to organise, motivate and mobilise Christians for God’s service and for the good of mankind.

Not only has his ministry impacted positively on the spiritual and moral lives of members of his church and others globally, his contribution to the improvement of the standard of education in the country is a good example of how churches can contribute to the overall development of the society.

His story of emerging from a humble background and becoming a world class preacher is a confirmation of that verse from the book of Proverbs in the Bible that “seeth thou a man diligent in his business, he will stand before kings and not mean men.”

Happy birthday, Prophet of our generation and servant of the Lord Almighty.
