Four things to know about Lord’s Chosen Church

The Lord’s Charismatic Revival Ministries has been the subject of an ongoing viral trend “I am a chosen”.

The trend began when videos of church members narrating their testimonies surfaced on the internet.

The Church has since responded to claims that its members gave fake testimonies, stating “Nigerians should visit the Church’s platform and listen to the complete testimonies for better understanding. The woman defeated the armed men in a dream.

“Don’t believe everything you see on the internet. They just cut one part and made it look real. The woman was explaining her dream.

“The viral video is a fake one. It was doctored.”

Here are four things to know about the Lord’s Chosen Church:

    1. Founder and Origin:

The church was founded by Pastor Lazarus Muoka, who claimed that he had a vision from God in 1994 to start a church. The first service held on December 24, 2002 in a rented apartment in Ilasamaja, Mushin, Lagos

Since then, the church has succeeded in making a name for itself with it’s aggressive evangelism and jaw-dropping miracles.

    1. Their green vest:

Members of the Lord’s Chosen Church adorn themselves in a green vest commonly viewed as a uniform for the members, the church doesn’t see that way. According to the church’s official blog, this is simply to create awareness. It reads, “The main purpose why we wear the ” APRON” is to use it to “CREATE AWARENESS” of an upcoming crusade.”

    1. The special power in their “apron”:

The official blog says that God deposited special powers in the vest to motivate everyone to wear it. The post reads, “But because God is in support of the very idea and He(God) really wants the people to do it that way, He gave the people a motivation by releasing His power upon the apron.”

“Whenever the apron is being worn, the wearer receives uncommon favour. When a sick person wears it, the person becomes instantly healed etc… As this person who has received these miracles shared their testimonies, others who saw it as foolishness became motivated and they also joined to wear it and they too also experienced “Power”.

“As time goes on, people who were having sleepless nights, when they wear it to sleep, they’ll have sound sleep like a baby and yoke of having nightmares broken. Some people wear it inside a bus and when they encounter armed robbers, the armed robbers will tell them “you that is wearing an apron, go one side, we are not here for you”. 1. The founder’s long list of sins:

In February 2017, founder Lazarus Muoka, published a list of ten deadly sins. The use of earrings, makeup, attachment or bangles, flaunting skin, and wearing trousers were mentioned. Visiting native doctors, occultic practices, robbing, internet fraud and having sexual relations made the list.

The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries has condemned the mockery of viral videos of testimonies given by members, noting that the Church would never participate in falsifying testimonies.

The Church cautioned Nigerians not to accept everything they saw online.

It warned some bloggers were diabolical and adept at putting things out of context.

The Church was responding to several testimonies that went viral and deemed unbelievable by netizens.

In one testimony, a member claimed to have been rescued by a lion.

The Lord’s Chosen member said: “Something entered my back, lifted me up. It carried me like aeroplane to express.

“When it reached there, it dropped me. When it dropped me, I turned to look at what carried me and as I looked it was lion.

“So when the lion dropped me, the place was very narrow and tight, it now raised one hand up and asked me to go like this (pointing to the left). When I go, the lion said bye bye.”

In another video, a female member said she fought robbers and took their AK-47 rifles.

She said: “Miraculously, I gained control of their guns and ensured the arrest of three of the robbers.”

Another male member claimed he survived kidnapping, machete attacks, and gunshot wounds “without injury”.

In response to the videos and the comments that accompanied them, the Lord’s Chosen Church declared that the footage were doctored.

The Head, Public Relations and Media, of the church, Pastor Chidi Louis, described the videos as “a bid to discredit what God is doing.
