  • Western Lotto winner grabs N15m

Western Lotto Nigeria Limited yesterday presented a cheque of N15 million to the first winner of the jackpot on its platform, Dorcas Nwagbara.

She won in the Powerball draw on August 13. Powerball is one of seven international lottery games on the Western Lotto platform. The N15 million prize is arguably the highest winning on any lottery in Nigeria.

An elated Nwagbara, a microbiology graduate of the Imo State University and entrepreneur, said she was initially in shock when she received a call informing her of her win.

She stated: “As you can imagine, I am super excited. Friday, September 15, was one of the most exciting days in my life so far. I woke up that morning, and I did not even know that my name was everywhere. My name was trending. “I then got a call from Western Lotto. Apparently, they had been trying to reach me all of Thursday, September 14. I had won the jackpot on Wednesday, September 13”.

Speaking further, she said: “Initially thought it was a call from one of the utility service providers and I was like “not again”.  I picked up the call, and the next thing I heard was, “Congratulations! You won the N15million Powerball Jackpot.  I was like, ‘Can you say that again’?  The caller confirmed.

“I do not know what to say but to thank God. I just want to thank God, and I also want to encourage whoever is playing Western Lotto games to keep playing. I played up to 11 lines the day I won. So, just keep playing. It would come.”

At the ceremony Wednesday, the company presented a symbolic cheque to mark the winning. Western Lotto Managing Director Yomi Ogunfowora said the company was as excited as the winner.

“The win by Dorcas confirms our claim that our customers can win every prize on offer across all our games and that we would honour such wins”, Ogunfowora stated. He added: “As we celebrate Ms Dorcas Nwagbara, we believe her winning cheque of N15 million will invite Nigerians to join us in a world of fun and hope for a better lifestyle.”

Western Lotto Nigeria Limited offers seven international lottery games under license from the Nigerian Lottery Regulatory Commission. The games are Powerball, Euro Jackpot, LottoRace, Euro Millions, Mega Millions, Kashman and UK Lotto.

  • Any Christian who plays MMM or Lotto needs deliverance – Suleman

Any Christian who plays MMM or Lotto needs deliverance – Suleman

Apostle Johnson Suleman, General Overseer of the Omega Fire Ministries International, has condemned the Ponzi Scheme – MMM -which is fast gaining ground in the country, reports Adetutu Audu.

The General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries International (OFM), Apostle Johnson Suleman, has asked members of the public and his congregation to dissociate themselves from anything that has to do with Mavrodi Mondial Movement, an investment scheme popularly called MMM, and any other get-rich-quick schemes, saying they are satanic ventures aimed at further impoverishing the poor and stealing from the rich to enrich some other people.
Suleman, giving a sermon at the maiden edition of his ministry’s International Amazing Grace 2016 programme, said “MMM is Satanic and those involved in it are demonic.”
“MMM is an agenda set to bring limitations and restrictions into your life, it is meant to make poorer the poor and take away from the rich,” said the clergyman, adding that if you want to know more about MMM, “go and check the founder. He was a fraudster in America, who defrauded a lot of people. And that’s what you are involving yourself in and you are a Christian, looking for easy way out.”
Many Christians have gotten involved, he said, “but if you are already involved in MMM, you need prayer. I have to pray for you today. MMM and its likes are not of God. Any quick fix way for money is not of God because some people are being defrauded to enrich some other people.”
The clergyman warned further that any quick-rich scheme is wrong, saying that “even kings can be stranded. Anyone can be. You may be stranded but you can’t be strangled.
“In life, everything you get, if it’s not favour from a particular individual. If it’s quick favour through a process, you will pay for it later. If it’s a person you know that walked up to you and blesses you, take it. That’s favour. But a quick business transaction that can bring a return of over 200 persons, is not of God. That is why we take it upon ourselves to do charity works, help the needy and feed them with the Word. When you give, your greatness is not in your properties but in how many lives you have sustained,” he pointed out.
Fresh in Suleman’s charity activities is the support given to a popular Nollywood actor, Leo Mezie, who was down with a kidney infection. At the point of soliciting funds from the public, it got to the hearing of Apostle Suleman. In his uniqueness, the troubled actor was advised to stop raising funds but to seek proper medical check up to identify what was really wrong with his health. On getting to England, he found out that it was just an infection not that his kidney malfunctioned. The man of God took it up from there, paid for the cleansing and treatment, according to the actor himself while giving public testimony of his miraculous survival. “Apostle Suleman took over all my medical bills, I mean every of it through my stay in the UK. I did not lack anything. I thank God for using Apostle Suleman to save me from death.”
Meanwhile, the Amazing Grace night was a powerful evening of miracles, impartation and divine restoration which held at the headquarters of the Omega Fire Ministries Worldwide (OFM), Auchi, Edo State. The first-of-its-kind programme, among fantastic gospel music makers listed for the praise night was Austine, an amazing worshipper and song leader. Also, there was the emerging Gospel R n B Sensation, Collins Kings. Collins whose debut single, “Before your throne”, has been enjoying massive airplays from around the globe. ‘Eshe Baba’ crooner, Nancy Grace, 3JWYZ, a celebrated gospel music minister with several amazing hit songs to his credit; The Triumphant Sisters, a group of beautiful voices, among others.

  • ‘Lotto is stock exchange of common man’

‘Lotto is stock exchange of common man’

Chief Kessington Adebutu, the founder and Chief Executive Officer  of Premier  Lotto Limited (PPL), also known as Baba Ijebu  has admonished youths not to be in a  haste; they should first learn to crawl before walking.

The billionaire pool magnet gave the admonition when members of the Youth Advancement for Qualitative Education Africa (YAQE), a non-profit organisation, visited his office to present him an award in recognition of his philanthropic activities and support for young people.

The philanthropist who would be clocking 80 in some months told the youth that the secret behind his look at the age of 79 is that he does things in moderation.

Asked how he was able to rise from nothing to a multi-billionaire, he said; “It is God’s grace, that is why our office reception is full of people. I should appreciate God. That is why I give back to the society and the less privileged. God has done wonders in my life. Some people work harder than I do. At my age, I should be living on my reserve but I thank God that at my age I am still making money. I am very grateful to God, I don’t hide it”.

Responding to question on the succession plan he has in place for his business, Chief Adebutu affirmed that the plan is perfected and sealed.

“I have my six children working with me here. Whether I am around or not, they are working. I came back from a trip on the July 1st and I am going back again on holiday but the business goes on. So my succession plan is perfect”.

Reacting to the influence of lottery business on the society since some people have their reservations about the game, Chief Adebutu said the influence of the game on the society is enormous.  “People have reservations, they are getting it wrong. I continually say that lotto is the stock exchange of the common man on the street.  Shares crash at times, but when you game, you can win, you can lose”.

“It gives the common man hope and that stops them from any nonsense because they are still working. You can see this Ojuelegba area, there were ruffians all over the place, we have taken them all out of the street because they have hope”, he submitted.

Pledging his support for the advancement of young people, the philanthropist said he is motivated because he feels good about his business.
