    GOC 8 Division calls for continued inter-agency training to tackle security threats 

    The General Officer Commanding 8 Division, Nigerian Army, Sokoto, Major General Ibikunle Ajose, has emphasized the need for continued inter-agency junior cadre training to enhance leadership capabilities, operational planning, and collaboration in addressing evolving security challenges. 

    Speaking on Friday at the closing ceremony of the 2025 five-day inter-agency junior cadre training organized by the division, General Ajose highlighted the crucial role of effective leadership in shaping Nigeria’s security operations.  

    Represented by Brigadier General Abubakar Suru, Ajose—who also serves as the Commander of Sector 2, Northwest Operation Hadarin Daji—stressed that achieving operational success depends on strong leadership, strategic decision-making, and coordinated frontline response.

    “Authentic Leadership at All Levels of Command: A Pre-Requisite for Enhanced Effective Operational Efficiency” was the theme of the 5-day training held at the auditorium of the 8 Division Headquarters, Sokoto.

    He described the training initiative as an instrumental ingredient in providing a valuable platform for developing strategic and qualitative competence towards tackling security challenges.

    “This will provide insightful pre-requisites for desired success in the conduct of operations, inter-agency cooperation, collaboration, and coordination intelligence gathering at the tactical level.

    “I hope lessons learnt will have a lasting impact on our cooperation for greater security and stability for the country by fostering better synergy”, the GOC pointed out as he stressed the need for security agencies working together, sharing intelligence, and leveraging on the space for collective efforts to strengthen the path for more feats.
