    Veteran actress Idowu Phillips popularly known as Mama Rainbow celebrated her 83rd birthday and 60th anniversary in the entertainment industry on Thursday, October 16.

    In a Instagram post, the actress expressed profound gratitude to God, her family, fans, and colleagues for their unwavering support throughout her illustrious six-decade career.

    Reflecting on her journey, Mama Rainbow described her time in the industry as one filled with music, memories, and love.

    She credited divine strength for sustaining her through countless performances since joining her late husband’s theatre troupe in the 1960s.

    The actress paid special tribute to son and manager, Femi Phillips, calling him her pillar and joy, whose dedication has kept her legacy vibrant.

    Mama Rainbow also extended appreciation to her global fanbase, friends, and creative team for their loyalty, noting that their love and prayers have been her foundation across every season.

    At 83, she conveyed a sense of grace and joy, vowing that her journey on stage would continue.

    She wrote: “Happy 83rd Birthday & 60 Years on Stage to myself. Today, I celebrate 83 years of life and 60 unforgettable years on stage! What a journey it has been filled with music, memories, love, and endless gratitude.

    Mama Rainbow credited her amazing team, including director, dress designer, makeup artist, and hairstylist, for bringing her vision to life.

    Film star, Idowu Philips aka Iya Rainbow, has opined that the creations of Majeurs Holdings, a premier luxury furniture manufacturer, are symbols of African heritage.

    She made the statement during a landmark moment that bridges African tradition with modern craftsmanship as Majeurs Holdings announced Iya Rainbow as its new brand ambassador.

    The official unveiling took place during a contract signing ceremony in Lagos, marking the beginning of a one-year partnership that positions Iya Rainbow as the face of Majeurs Furniture—a subsidiary of Majeurs Holdings. The collaboration underscores the company’s commitment to celebrating African culture through its finely crafted products.

    Speaking at the event, Iya Rainbow expressed her pride in representing a brand that honors African culture and empowers local artisans. “Majeurs are rooted in heritage.     Demi Samande, Founder and CEO of Majeurs Holdings, described the partnership as a natural alignment between the brand’s storytelling philosophy and Iya Rainbow’s enduring legacy.

    Congratulatory birthday messages and tributes flood social media as veteran actress, Idowu Phillips popularly known as Mama Rainbow turns 82 today, October 16.

    Mama Rainbow shared birthday photos, expressing gratitude to God for another year.

    She noted that turning 82 marks the beginning of another year with eight decades of wisdom.

    “+ 1 today am now 82 years today. Thank you Daddy. Turning 82 doesn’t mean the end of anything. It means the beginning of another year with a full eight decades of wisdom am still your baby family”.

    In another post, writing in Yoruba, she appreciated God for his mercy, love, and the universe He gave her.

    To celebrate the screen goddess, Femi Adebayo, Mide Martins, and others wished the octogenarian a blissful year ahead.

    On her Instagram page, Mide Martins prayed for Mama Rainbow to experience grace upon grace.

    Calling her a living legend, she praised her for being an icon, role model, and a great mother to many.

    Veteran actress Idowu Phillips, also known as Mama Rainbow, has faced mixed reactions from Nigerians after sharing a post that seemed to mourn her late husband, Ayanfemi, while using a pre-wedding photo of Davido and Chioma.

    In the post, she reminisced about her wedding in the 1950s and lamented the loss of her husband, imagining how he would have reacted if she had passed away instead.

     She wrote: “Haa I remember me and my dearest husband Alamu ogo on our wedding day in 1950s 
    .
    “Happy married life Mr and Mrs Adeleke. My love, my sweet husband Ayanfemi although I know there is no use, sometimes my mind will wander to what it would have been like if life were reversed. If I had been the one that died that day.

    “If I was the one who lay on the side of the river without a breath in my chest, and you were the one who received the call in the hallway of our home. I think about what it would have been like for you, my love, how you would have reacted upon hearing those words. Hearing that I had taken my last breath and closed my eyes, leaving you to keep going without the comfort of my presence in a world that is spinning out of control. Still missing you Oko mi. Alamu ogo.”

    Many critics called her out for not congratulating the couple and using their photo to share her personal story.
