    The police in Ogun State have arrested two men – Okon Bassey and Ademola Adekunle – for alleged homosexuality.

    The suspects’ arrest followed a complaint Bassey lodged at the Onipanu divisional police headquarters that Ademola was threatening his life.

    But there was a twist to the drama when the police learnt of alleged homosexual practices between the two.

    A statement by police spokesman Abimbola Oyeyemi, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), said when detectives detailed by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) for Onipanu, Sangobiyi Johnson, arrested Ademola last Wednesday, he allegedly confessed to have been introduced to Bassey by “Mandela” for homosexual dating.

    The statement said Ademola had stated how Bassey promised him N20,000 if he agreed to be his sex partner.

    Ademola said Bassey had sex with him three times, leaving him bleeding profusely from the anus since while he had not paid the agreed N20,000.

    “Following the confession, the two of them were arrested and detained. Ademola was taken to the hospital and medical report confirmed that his anus had been violently tampered with.

    “Police Commissioner Ahmed Iliyasu has given directives for the transfer of the case to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) for further investigation and possible prosecution.”

    Man arrested for alleged sexual assault on daughter

    The police in Lagos have arrested a man, Uchenna Elemadu for alleged sexual assault on his teenage daughter.

    Elemadu, a resident of Martins Street New Oko Oba in Agege, was arrested after his wife allegedly caught him raping his daughter.

    It was gathered that the suspect has serially raped the 15-year-old victim whom he allegedly forced to take pills to prevent pregnancy.

    Spokesperson for the police command, Dolapo Badmos, a Superintendent (SP), said the case was being handled by the Gender Unit.

    She said: “Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect, trader, had at different occasions raped his daughter after which he administered drugs to prevent her from getting pregnant.

    “The victim, a JSS 3 student while narrating her ordeal to the police stated that the father on countless occasions wakes her up in the middle of the night to rape her, mostly when the mother is on duty.

    “The mother, who is a casual worker in one of the outfits attached to the airport, on the night of September 19, discovered the suspect having intercourse with the victim, an occurrence that made her raise alarm.

    “The victim is currently admitted in the Police College where she is receiving treatment in partnership with Mirabel Centre, LASUTH where medical examination will be carried out.

    “Commissioner of Police Fatai Owoseni has directed that the father, who admitted the rape on three occasions blaming the act on the devil, be charged to court.”

    Man arrested for ‘defiling’ girl

    Police operatives attached to the Abigi Division of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested a 60-year-old man, Adewale Enoch, for allegedly defiling a 12-year-old girl on Boxing Day.

    The incident was reported to the police by the girl’s father and the suspect was arrested at Moborode in Ogun Waterside Local Government Area.

    Police spokesman Olumuyiwa Adejobi informed reporters that the suspect would be transferred to the Department of Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Eleweran, Abeokuta for further investigation.

    Adejobi urged parents and guardians to monitor their children or wards.

  • Man arrested for defiling six kids

    A 29-year-old man, identified as Chinedu Okandu, has been arrested by men of the Edo State police command for allegedly having carnal knowledge of a seven-year-old boy.

    Chinedu was alleged to have slept with five other boys.

    He was arrested after his victim developed health challenges and had to tell his parents what the suspect did to him.

    The act was committed at Ekiadolor village, Ovia North East Local Government Area of the state.

    Chinedu, who hailed from Abia State, said he is married with two children.

    Speaking to newsmen while being paraded by the police, Chinedu said he regretted his actions.

    Another suspect, Alex Enakpodia, who abducted a kid at Oluku in Ovia North East for alleged ritual purposes, was also paraded by the police.

    Alex was said to have been promised the sum of N400, 000 as payment for the kid.

    He was, however, said to have collected N100, 000 for the deal and was waiting for the balance when police swooped on him.

    Police said the kidnapped kid was rescued unhurt from the bush where he was tied to a tree.
