A chieftain of People’s Democratic Party, (PDP) in Oyo State , Dr. Kazeem Abidikugu, has felicitated Muslims on Eid- el- Maolud, urging them to emulate Prophet Muhammad’s life style in the service to mankind.
Maolud Nabiyy, which marked the birthday of Prophet Muhammad, is observed on the 12th day of Rabi’ al-Awwal, the third month of the Islamic lunar calendar, which is a time to honour and remember the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad.
A statement by Abidikugu, a UK- based Psychiatric Consultant rejoiced with Muslim Ummah on the occasion.
He said the best way to celebrate the occasion was to abide by the doctrine of Islam and lifestyle of Prophet Muhammad, which is service to humanity and mankind, which he held dearly.
Abidikugu, who was also an Ibadan South East and North East House of Representatives PDP aspirant, said the celebrants should be modest in their celebrations because of the economy situation in the country, urging them to use the occasion to pray for the progress of Ibadan, Oyo State and the country at large.

He said: “I wish all Muslims in Ibadan, Oyo State and Nigeria in general, happy and remarkable Maolud Nabiyy celebrations to mark the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) whose teachings, predominantly on tolerance, sacrifice, peaceful coexistence, abstinence, honesty and generosity are engraved in our hearts.
“The universal truth of the values the Great Prophet stood for remain sacrosanct and unmovable. As we harp on this memorable occasion to reflect on whatever temporary challenges we may be facing, I implore all Muslim Ummah to celebrate in peace especially with our neighbours.
“As we celebrate this auspicious moment, may the joyous festivity and showers of Allah’s blessings be with us all. Happy Maolud Nabiyy”.
