Following the recent online drama of controversial Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie, Nollywood actress and movie producer, Mary Remmy Njoku has subtly weighed into the marital drama between the former and his estranged wife, May Edochie.

The Nation reported that Yul had publicly dragged May, asking her to drop his surname and return her bride price.

In her reaction, Mary stated that a mother shouldn’t be forced to have a different name from her underaged kids, except she is allowed to change their names too.

She noted how one cannot build a name for many years and he asked to change it because someone doesn’t want a divorce.

Mary reemphasised that when a marriage ends, changing of name should be optional and besides some wives have been responsible for putting their surnames on the map.
