The artiste made the announcement with the release of a new song featuring Don Jazzy and Dr Sid, titled Up 2 Sumting, the new song, which is produced by Mavin Records’ Don Jazzy, was released on Monday, which happens to be the singer’s 30th birthday.

The news, which generated a bit of excitement on social networks, was broken by Don Jazzy via his Twitter handle.

“Iyanya brings his own unique style and sound to the Mavin Records family. From the first time I stepped into the studio with him, there was an instant chemistry and energy.

“He is an amazing talent and he has great musical versatility. This is an exciting time for us and our fans have a lot of great music to look forward to,” Jazzy stated.

Iyanya, on his part, says that he is at a decision-making curve in his music career where he has to make the right professional and creative decisions.

    Don Jazzy Talks secret wedding

FOR many celebrities and non-artistes alike, walking down the aisle is a memory to be cherished for a lifetime and should be witnessed by loved ones.

However, Mavin Records’ CEO, Don Jazzy, seems to take a non-conformist stand.

The following statement by the music entrepreneur reveals how much he cherishes his privacy and why he might not carry the public along, when he decides to walk down the aisle.

“I might just be saying. I don’t know when I am going to get married, but all of a sudden, you will hear that I have gotten married. I like my privacy, so I might just get married and you will hear that I got married three months ago or something like that. It is not like I don’t want people to come for my wedding o!

“I don’t want a situation where I will tell you people that ‘Oh! This is Nome and this is when I want to get married’. I have done that in the past, introducing my girlfriend, but people would just jinx it for us because they will just put their eyes on our thing and it might just spoil things.”

    Wande Coal quits Marvin records

Award-winning artiste, Oluwatobi Wande Ojosipe, popularly known as Wande Coal has quit Don Jazzy’s Mavin Records.

The Nation gathered that Wande Coal, a member of the defunct Mo’hits records, co-owned by Dbanj and Don Jazzy, released a single Kilaju two days ago, under his own floated record label called Black Diamond Entertainment. His two previous singles Kick and Rotate had been released under Marvin Records.

Although no official statement has been issued on Wande exit from Mavin Records, there are strong indications that he has moved on for good as the official cover art of the new single reads: Black Diamond Entertainment-Wande Coal Kilaju-produced by Maleek Berry.

The producer of the single is another indication that things have fallen apart in the Marvin camp as Maleek is Wizkid’s in-house producer.

A source who does not want his name in print disclosed that Wande’s career has been dormant right from the days of the Mo’hits records and as such he may have decided to take his destiny in his own hands by launching his own record label.

“Don’t blame Wande Coal; he’s only released one full-length album, Mushin2Mohits back in 2009,” the source said.

It would be recalled that Mavin Records was founded barely a year ago after the crisis that rocked Mo’Hits records. Other artistes on the label are Tiwa Savage, D’Prince and Dr. Sid.
