    Lagos council lifts residents with food items, cash

    No fewer  than 2000 artisans and petty traders and individuals in Ifelodun Local Council Development Area (LCDA), at the weekend, received food palliatives courtesy of the council chairman, Mayor Olufemi Okeowo.

     At the monthly distribution tagged: ‘Okemoney palliative’  about 500 aged women and youths were given N10,000 each.

     The food palliative includes packs of rice, garri, semolina, wheat, a pack of Maggi and sachets of tomatoes.

     Akanbi reaffirmed his commitment to supporting residents through food distribution, education, and infrastructure projects.

     He explained that his administration focuses on education, healthcare, and infrastructure development to improve the lives of residents.

     As part of his regular support, he provides 1,500 food packages every month.

    However, due to the Ramadan season, the number was increased to 2,000. He assured that this initiative would continue, as it was a promise he made to the people.

     He emphasised that providing food helps maintain peace in the community, as hunger can lead to frustration and unrest.  He stated that Ifelodun LCDA is more peaceful than ever because of these efforts.

     In addition to food distribution, he highlighted his administration’s educational support programmes.

     He provides scholarships worth N100,000 each to higher education students from the federal ward, ensuring that those who qualify receive financial assistance.

     He promised to continue working towards a better life for the people.
