Rising Nollywood actress, Olamide Ewaoluwatomi aka Midebams has admitted being under pressure not to fail because of her parents’ success as actors.
Midebams, who is the daughter of Segun Ogungbe and grand-daughter to the late Akin Ogungbe, made this known in a recent chat.
She said, “Being the daughter of a famous actor has been amazing and a big blessing which comes with a lot of pressure because the expectations are high. People set high standards for people like us because of the successes of our parents and one is constantly under that pressure of not wanting to disappoint.
“My dad’s popularity has had a great influence over my career growth, but my hard work and diligence has brought me this far,” she said.

With a mother, Atinuke Ogungbe, who is equally a thespian, it is safe to say Midebams is a natural born thespian.
The actress revealed that she started out in the industry as a make-up artist before transitioning into a full blown actress but described her journey as tedious.
“Before starting my acting career, I first started as a makeup artist. As a makeup artist who is transitioning into acting, it wasn’t a walk in the park. l faced various challenges adapting to new roles and the expectations are high working with diverse personalities. Navigating these dynamics has been a key learning experience for me.”
Despite being from a film family, Midebams admits to getting bullied on the job by older thespians.
“In my own point of view, I think some of them don’t want you to grow. Some don’t want you to be like them even if you’re looking up to them, and see that as an inferiority complex,” she said.
