    Police nab ex-convict for attempted robbery on Mile 12 bridge

    Some policemen from Ketu Division, Lagos State have arrested a 28-year-old ex-convict, Olayinka Oluwaseyi, for an attempted robbery on Mile 12 Bridge.

    The suspect, who was reportedly armed with two knives, was apprehended about 1:30 a.m. on Monday while attempting to rob a male motorist. His arrest followed the intervention of a police patrol team on surveillance in the area.

    One of his accomplices escaped.

    According to preliminary investigations, Oluwaseyi was released from prison three months ago, where he was held for a similar offence.

    Police Public Relations Officer, Chief Superintendent of Police Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed that the suspect remained in custody and would be arraigned after investigations.

    Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, Olohundare Jimoh, commended the patrol team for their vigilance and professionalism in foiling the robbery.

    “We will not tolerate criminality in any form. Lagosians can rest assured that we are committed to making the state safer for all,” Jimoh stated.

    He urged the public to remain watchful and to report any suspicious movements or individuals to security agencies.

    Police operatives from the Ketu Division have arrested a 28-year-old ex-convict, Olayinka Oluwaseyi, for an attempted robbery on Mile 12 Bridge in the early hours of Monday.

    The suspect, who was reportedly armed with two knives, was apprehended at about 1:30 a.m. while attempting to rob a male motorist.

    His arrest followed the swift intervention of a police patrol team on routine surveillance in the area.

    One of his accomplices managed to escape and is currently at large, with efforts underway to apprehend him.

    According to preliminary investigations, Oluwaseyi had only recently been released from prison three months ago, having served time for a similar offence.

    Police public relations officer CSP Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed that he remains in custody and will be arraigned in court upon the conclusion of ongoing investigations.

    The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh, commended the Ketu patrol team for their vigilance and professionalism in foiling the robbery.
