    Her absence from the social scene for some time now has resulted in a flurry of speculations.

    Since her marriage to one-time part owner of Oando and CEO Notore Fertilizers, Jite Okoloko, crashed like a badly-balanced tray of food, the owner of Beauty Concerns has vanished from the public in the blink of an eye, leaving nostalgic memories in her wake.

    The mother of two lovely kids has moved on with her life just as Jite has found comfort in the arms of another woman. These days, she prefers a quiet lifestyle, devoting her attention to her children and business.

    Beauty Concerns owner, Mina Okoloko, has lately been having one ugly experience after another. The latest in the string of unpalatable occurrences is that her Victoria Island home was gutted by a fire that also destroyed everything she had in the building.

    The ugly incident was said to have left Mina speechless and traumatised for days. Not even the presence of her close friend, Kate Henshaw, and other family members could assuage the depression that seized her heart. She was said to have lost property worth millions of naira to the inferno. Lost items were said to have included her expensive diamond and gold plated jewellery like necklaces, earrings and wrist watches.

    Her dresses were also burnt; just like some goods she had taken delivery of a few days earlier. But she was lucky to have found help in few neighbours who helped to drive her expensive cars away from the compound. The lawyer-turned-beautician is said to have returned to her bubbly self. Reports say she is already planning to jet out of the country as part of her plans to expand her beauty business.

    MINA Okoloko is the delectable lady behind Fluid Champagne Lounge & Beauty Concerns. She is also the wife of Jite, former Oando big boy who now runs Notore. It is stating the obvious that the couple who met in 1993 and have two children (Orklay and Mine) as product of their union are really soul mates. However, going by the rumour making the rounds, all may not be well with the marriage of the sociable couple.

    Sources squealed that the secrecy that has wrapped up the collapse of the union is the need to protect personal and business image of the personalities involved and for the sake of their children.

    Before now, Mina had shunned socials and recoiled into her cocoon, unlike in the past when she dominated the social scene with her close friends.

    Ever since she opened Fluid Lounge, a strictly champagne bar on Saka Tinubu Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, Mina Okoloko appears to have taken a flight from the social sphere. The woman who loves to tread on roads that men dread has chosen to lie low for some time now.

    Until her seeming sabbatical from the social scene, Mina was never a scarce face in the nation’s socio-economic space. Although she could not be described as a party freak, the Obafemi Awolowo University-trained-lawyer-turned entrepreneur was always seen at events involving top government functionaries and corporate players.

    While many have attributed her silence to the toll that the current economic downturn must have taken on her chain of businesses, those who should know told Celeb Watch that the half Scot has only gone off the social radar to take stock of her recent investments with a view to re-strategising.

    In fact, an inside source said Mina might unveil a new card off her sleeve towards the tail end of the year or early next year. For now, she seems to be enjoying life away from the public glare.
