Nigerian female rapper Mocheddah has shared memories of her early years in the music industry during an appearance on the TeamwithTaypod podcast.

She revealed that at just 14 years old, she started spending time in music studios, often accompanying a young Wizkid to studios in Ojuelegba.

Mocheddah recalled learning from seasoned musicians and producers, including the late OJB Jezreel, whose mentorship helped shape her musical journey.

Although her parents initially had concerns about her pursuing a career in music, they eventually became supportive.

She noted that her mother played a key role in ensuring her safety, frequently escorting her to the studio and setting a strict curfew.

“I became a studio rat at 14. Wizkid and I would go to studios in Ojuelegba together. We’d watch and learn from veteran musicians and producers. My mom would take me to studios and I had a curfew. Later, I became friends with Wizkid and Ice Prince, and we’d go to studios together. We didn’t record, we just watched and got inspired”, she said.
