Lobi Stars have  brought back former coach, Mohammed Babaganaru on  the interim  until the end of the current season for his second stint with the Pride of Benue.

The Chairman of the club, Dr. Philip Nongu, stated that the reappointment became necessary following the resignation of the former Technical Adviser, Daniel Amokachi and the team’s current standing on the NPFL table.

He appealed to fans of the club not to relent in their support for the club adding that the club would turn the corner before the end of the season.

“Everything we do at the moment is for the good of our beloved club. While we welcome criticisms, they should be constructive and aimed at enhancing our performance. Let us remain steadfast in our support, knowing that with God, nothing is impossible,” Nongu said.

He expressed confidence in the ability of the new coach, who has previously managed Lobi Stars, and reaffirmed the management’s commitment to providing him with the necessary support to ensure the club retains its NPFL status.

In another significant development, the Board has constituted a Management Team, with the Club Chairman serving as the Head alongside Babaganaru.

Other members of the Management Team include Lawrence Adoga as Team Manager, Solomon Aondoakaa as Accountant, Emmanuel Uja as Media Director, Christopher Ayom, as Team Nurse and Felix Pilakyaa as the Club Welfare Officer.

Additionally, John Gaadi has been drafted to the team as the Goalkeepers’ Trainer.

The Pride of Benue will battle Niger Tornadoes in a highly anticipated North Central derby this tomorrow in Bauchi.

In a related development, Niger Tornadoes have selected the Lafia City Stadium as their new home ground  from the weekend.

Tornadoes were directed to choose an alternative venue for their next home match from approved NPFL grounds after the NPFL declared the Bako Kontagora Stadium in Minna unfit to host league games.

This is due to the poor state of the Bako Kontagora Stadium pitch, which falls short of club licensing requirements, and the alternate home ground, Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna was also said to be unsuitable to host league games.

Tornadoes said they have opted for Lafia according to the short statement from the NPFL and that the team is expected to face Enyimba this weekend in Lafia.
