Spain’s striker Alvaro Morata has announced divorce with wife Alice.

He wrote on X: “After some time of reflection, Alice and I have made the decision to separate our paths. A WONDERFUL relationship of mutual RESPECT where we have loved and helped each other a lot.

“These have been wonderful years and the result of them is our four children, who are without a doubt the best thing we have ever done. It is a painful decision and we ask for respect and empathy.

“Don’t make up stories for a minute of limelight because I repeat: there has never been any lack of respect, only a lot of continuous misunderstandings that little by little wear things down.

“Alice will always have a special place in my heart and everything we have experienced together has been incredible and a great learning experience.”

Morata’s wife Alice Campello is an Italian model and fashion designer.

She was born on March 5, 1995, in Mestre, Italy.

Alice has been successful in the fashion industry, with her own brand of bags called Avril Gau.

She has collaborated with several high-profile brands such as Dior and Chanel.

The couple met in 2016 when Morata was playing for Juventus.

The couple started dating shortly after and on December 10, 2016, Morata proposed on stage during a magic show in Madrid.

They tied the knot in 2017 and got married in Venice in front of a star studded audience including Isco and Simone Zaza.

Since their wedding the pair have welcomed four children.

Morata & Rodri charged for ‘Gibraltar is Spanish’ chant

Uefa has opened “disciplinary proceedings” against Spain captain Alvaro Morata and team-mate Rodri after they chanted “Gibraltar is Spanish” during their Euro 2024 victory celebrations.

The Gibraltar Football Association (GFA) made an official complaint about the celebrations to Uefa and European football’s governing body appointed a disciplinary inspector to “evaluate a potential violation of the Uefa disciplinary regulations”.

Morata and Rodri have now been charged with “general principles of conduct, violating the basic rules of decent conduct, using sporting events for manifestations of a non-sporting nature, and bringing the sport of football, and Uefa in particular, into disrepute”.

Uefa’s control, ethics and disciplinary body (CEDB) will make a decision on the issue “in due course”.

Gibraltar is an enclave at Spain’s southern tip that has been under British rule since the 18th Century, and Spain has long called for its return.

The chanting took place in front of tens of thousands of Spain fans in Cibeles Square, Madrid on 15 July as players celebrated their 2-1 Euro 2024 final success against England.

Manchester City midfielder Rodri, 28, could be seen chanting “Gibraltar is Spanish” on the stage, and AC Milan striker Morata, 31, later encouraged the crowd to join in with the same chant.

The Gibraltar FA complained about Spain’s behaviour, saying it had “noted the extremely provocative and insulting nature of the celebrations around the Spanish Men’s national team winning Euro 2024”.

“Football has no place for behaviour of this nature,” it added.

Gibraltar has been a full member of Uefa since 2013.

  • Morata posts throwback photograph in a full Atletico Madrid kit as a child

Morata passed through the club’s academy before going on to represent fierce rivals Real Madrid in the first team.

However the forward, who initially became Chelsea’s record signing in a £70.6million deal in the summer of 2017, has returned to Spain after Atletico agreed to a £9m loan deal.

With the move finally secured, Morata put himself through his paces as he trained on his own at the club’s training base.

Keen to build up his fitness and match sharpness, the Spaniard had a varied session as he practised his finishing and also tested his reaction skills with the ball in confined spaces.

Fans, eager to get his name on the back of their shirts, also quickly discovered that the former Real Madrid and Juventus striker will wear the No 22 at the Wanda Metropolitano.

Antonio Conte will be without Alvaro Morata and Cesc Fabregas for Chelsea’s Carabao Cup semi-final second leg against Arsenal on Wednesday.

Morata is ruled out of the encounter at the Emirates Stadium with a back problem in a blow to Conte and Chelsea’s hopes of reaching the Carabao Cup final.

‘Morata and Fabregas are out,’ Conte said. ‘They are not available for the Arsenal game. Then I have to check a couple of situations [with other players].

Chelsea were without the Spanish duo for the trip to Brighton on Saturday and ran out 4-0 winners but Conte stopped short of guaranteeing the same attack, which included Michy Batshuayi, would start against Arsenal.

‘I have another night before deciding the starting XI,’ Conte said. ‘Every game is different, the opponents change and you must be intelligent to understand if it is right to continue in the same way with the same players.’

But the fitness news wasn’t all bad for Chelsea, as Conte confirmed that centre-back Andreas Christensen is available for selection.

‘He is fit, he trained with us and he is fit,’ Conte said.

The Denmark international was taken off at Brighton after 55 minutes following a clash of heads with Shane Duffy.

Chelsea head to the Emirates a goalless draw at the Stamford Bridge in the first leg

‘In the first leg,I think the game was different,’ Conte said. ‘In this case you have two games to play to reach the final and it is right to have a plan.

‘For sure, there is a target for both teams to reach the final. After a draw, after a 0-0, the game will be open.’

Technical director Michael Emenalo added: ‘We are delighted to complete Alvaro’s signing and welcome him to the club. We believe he can make a great impact for Chelsea and look forward to seeing him in action.

‘Alvaro has proven class at the highest level and his quality will be a huge asset to Antonio and the squad.’

Blues boss Conte briefly worked with Morata at Juventus and believes the forward – who scored 20 goals as Real won both LaLiga and the Champions League last season – can bring something different to the Chelsea frontline.

Speaking at a press conference in Beijing earlier on Friday, Conte said: ‘We have added a fantastic striker, even at a young age he has won a lot already and we are looking forward to welcoming him to the squad.

‘I think for sure this is a good signing for us. He is a young player, but has a lot of experience, he went to Juventus and Real Madrid. He has a lot of experience and I think this is a good sign for us.’

Morata will now join up with the Blues squad on their pre-season tour of Asia. They play Arsenal in a friendly at the Bird’s Nest Stadium on Saturday before heading to Singapore.

  • Allegri: Morata not guaranteed a start

Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri says he can’t guarantee Alvaro Morato a place in his starting XI.

The Spanish striker was on the scoresheet as the Serie A champions downed Milan 3-1 at Juventus Stadium on Saturday.

It was the fourth time in the past six games that Morata was handed a start, as Allegri continues to decide on who is the best partner for regular starter Carlos Tevez.

But, while giving credit to the blossoming partnership between Tevez and Morata, Allegri was keen to highlight the strength in depth of his striking options.

Asked whether Morata had done enough to cement a starting place, he said: “Well, I have got five strikers at my disposal and they are all quality strikers and that’s important.

“It’s normal that the more the players play together the more they know each other, so Morata and Tevez are playing more and more together and it’s normal that they can only improve.”

Allegri also stated that sought-after midfielder Paul Pogba will continue to improve after falling below his usual level for the league leaders against Filippo Inzaghi’s men.

“Pogba is young and he is a fantastic guy who still has space for improvement,” he added.

“It’s normal that he must grow up especially because he needs to understand the moments when he can do certain things and there are other moments when he can’t.”

  • Morata eyeing Juventus comeback

Alvaro Morata has delivered a boost for Juventus with the news he hopes to return ahead of schedule from a knee injury.

The 21-year-old striker was ruled out for seven weeks after suffering a second grade tear of the medial collateral ligament in his left knee during his first training session after moving from Real Madrid.

With the new campaign due to get underway at the end of this month, reports suggested the Serie A champions could be tempted back into the market in the absence of Morata.

However, the Spaniard believes he could return to full training sooner than originally expected.

“My knee is getting better, I’m recovering well,” he told AS TV. “In about 30 or 35 days I will be ready.

“It was a shame about the injury but I’m working with the physios to play again soon.

“Signing for Juventus has been a great joy, I’m really happy with my new team.”

Morata signed a five-year deal with the Turin giants last month after the two clubs agreed a €20million fee.

  • Morata ‘very happy’ to be joining Juventus

The 21-year-old’s proposed €18 million move to Turin has not yet been finalised but he has reportedly agreed a four-year contract with the Italian champions

Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata has admitted that he is “very happy” to be joining Juventus, describing it as a great “personal challenge”.

The Spain Under-21 international has not yet signed on the dotted line for the Bianconeri despite a lengthy pursuit from the Italian champions, who have had to fend off reported interest from Arsenal and Wolfsburg in the forward.

However, Morata’s head is clearly already at Juve, who have reportedly agreed to pay Madrid an initial €18 million fee, which could rise to €22m depending on bonuses.

“I am very happy,” he is quoted as saying by Marca. “For me, this is a personal challenge.”

Morata, who is set to earn €2.2m per year after tax according to reports, is said to be ready to commit himself to the Serie A champions until 2018, with the option of an additional season.

  • Morata closing in on Juventus move

The 21-year-old is said to be edging towards leaving the Spanish capital for Turin – despite reported interest from both Arsenal and Wolfsburg

Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata is closing in on a move to Italian champions Juventus, according to his agent.

The 21-year-old has been linked with several sides after Los Blancos boss Carlo Ancelotti admitted that the youngster had been left frustrated with his lack of starts for the Spanish side last season.

The player’s agent, Juanma Lopez, spent Monday morning at the Santiago Bernabeu offices and was reported to have told AS that his client had moved “a little closer to Juventus”.

Real Madrid are willing to sell Morata to the Scudetto holders given their plethora of attacking options but are reportedly intent on including a buy-back clause in any deal for the youth academy product.

Morata – who was not chosen to travel to the World Cup in Brazil with the Spain squad this summer – has also been linked with a move to Premier League side Arsenal and German club Wolfsburg in recent weeks.

Morata started just three of Madrid’s Liga games last season but scored eight goals in a total of 23 appearances for the club.
