Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement (Southwest), Moremi Ojudu, has reaffirmed her dedication to deepening citizen inclusion and strengthening grassroots participation under Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu.

Ojudu, with colleagues from other regions, presented  her report to  Tinubu in Abuja, where she noted progress, challenges, and success from her duties in Southwest.

She stressed sustained collaboration with communities, particularly in reaching the vulnerable and under-represented who often go unheard.

She emphasised that meaningful governance must begin from the grassroots, aligning with the  President’s  vision of inclusivity, empowerment, and shared prosperity.

“Our work in the South West has been focused on deepening trust between the government and the people, promoting inclusion, and ensuring that the Renewed Hope Agenda is not just a policy statement but a lived reality for ordinary Nigerians,” she said.

Her report also outlined key recommendations to further bridge the gap between government and citizens through more accessible communication channels, empowerment programmes for the unemployed, and increased partnership with community-based organisations.

Since her appointment, Mrs Ojudu has embarked on extensive community outreach across all six states of the South West, fostering dialogue with traditional rulers, youth groups, women leaders, market associations, religious bodies, and persons with disabilities.

President Tinubu, while commending the efforts of the SSA and her colleagues, reiterated his administration’s commitment to ensuring that every Nigerian, regardless of status or location, feels the impact of good governance under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

The meeting, which brought together all regional SSAs on Community Engagement, reflected the administration’s strategic focus on inclusive governance, citizen feedback, and continuous collaboration between government and the people it serves.

Presidential Community Engagement Office (Southwest), led by Senior Special Assistant to the President, Moremi Ojudu, has launched Light-Up Ibeju-Lekki, a transformative grassroots energy intervention set to power homes and micro, small, and medium enterprises in Ibeju-Lekki community.

The initiative, supported by National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) and executed in partnership with Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, is a key part of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. It improves access to clean, reliable, and sustainable energy at the community level by reducing electricity burden on families and business owners.

Speaking at the launch, Ojudu reaffirmed Federal Government’s commitment to bringing development closer. “We are here for President Tinubu, to say: we see you, we hear you, and we are with you. This project is not about solar panels, real empowerment, homegrown solutions, and shared progress.”

Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Engr. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, commended the partnership, noting that it aligns with the LGA’s own development priorities. “We are grateful for this federal intervention and proud that Ibeju-Lekki has been chosen as a beneficiary community. This will go a long way in supporting our people and our local economy.”

Engr. Adesoji Oyedeji, who represented NASENI at the event, described the programme as one of many steps the agency is taking to decentralise access to energy and foster innovation through local solutions.

In preparation for the distribution, selected youths from the community were trained in solar panel installation, thereby giving them not only the skills to support the rollout but also creating employment pathways within the same neighbourhoods the project is designed to serve.

With installations now set to begin, the Light-Up Ibeju-Lekki initiative stands as another proof point of the Renewed Hope Agenda in action in delivering practical impact, strengthening communities, and lighting the way toward a more inclusive, empowered future.
