Nigeria’s former youth international goalkeeper Akpan Udoh said his Player of the Match (POTM) award following Sunday’s yeoman’s job for Mosta FC in the 1-1 away draw to Hamrun Spartans at the Centenary Stadium, was a reward for hardwork.
Since joining the Maltese Premier League side, the 24-year-old Udoh has been on his element helping the in-form Mosta to shore up their position in the top rung of the table.
His presence between the sticks on Sunday was instrumental to Mosta sharing the spoils with the league leaders who had previously recorded five successive wins against their arch rivals.
In Sunday’s MatchDay 7 encounter , Udoh reportedly but up a brave performance with Mosta against the Maltese Premier League defending champions
Hamrun took the lead in the 38th minute through Uros Duranovic but Mosta fought back gamely and were rewarded with a vital equaliser in the dying minutes of the first half courtesy of Kelvin Tulimeiri .

Thereafter, Udoh reportedly put up some eye-catching performances to earn Mosta FC a point that has now pushed them to the fifth spot on the table after seven round of matches.
“ I have learned a lot since I came here, ”Udoh told NationSports yesterday.“ I feel great (being named as the winner of the POTM) against Hamrun).
“ This I believe hardwork, commitment and dedication has paid off but I can’t afford to relax.”
With some of Chile 2015 teammates are already household names with the Super Eagles, Udoh hinted he would be pleased to join the rank of players in the national team in due course.
“ Of course, I’ll be very happy if I’m called into the Super eagles because it’s the dream of every player to play for his country,” he added.
