    Mosun Filani responds to fan criticism over role in Wumi Toriola’s film

    Nollywood actress Mosun Filani has addressed criticism from a fan who expressed disappointment over her performance in Wumi Toriola’s new movie, Konge.

    The fan had commented that Mosun’s role in the film altered their perception of her, prompting the actress to respond via Instagram.

    “Haaaa. Na movie o. If I no act well, na una go complain. I did a good job, now una don dey hate me,” she wrote, highlighting the irony of being criticised for convincingly playing her part.

    Mosun explained that she was simply delivering a scripted role and urged fans to separate fiction from reality.

    She encouraged viewers to focus on the message of the movie rather than directing personal attacks at the actors, reminding them that films are a form of entertainment and storytelling.

    “It’s just a movie. Learn from it and move on,” she added.

    “Kilo sele gangan. It’s a movie!!! I got the script. Got into character and delivered perfectly for y’all enjoyment. That’s why it’s called make-believe!!!

    “NOTE: That’s not me. That’s not my personality in real life. I have had my own share of friendship and even family betrayal, too. Watch the movie… Learn and move on…. Don’t hate on the actors”, she wrote.

    Nollywood actress and film producer Mosun Filani has revealed that her decision to take a prolonged hiatus from acting was driven by a desire to focus on her family.

    In a recent interview, Filani explained that she needed to devote time to raising her children and building her family, emphasising that acting could wait until she was ready to return.

    “We have a short time to spend with our kids if we are being sincere. When our kids get to higher institutions, they no longer stay under your roof, so it’s better to be there while they are still very young to train them. Acting can always wait,” Filani stated.

    Filani also shared that she didn’t inform her husband about her decision to step away from acting; instead, she decided to subtly turn down movie scripts. When asked if she had resumed acting, she responded, “I’m not fully back.”

    Filani also discussed her first cinema movie which she described at ‘testing waters’. She said she had learned from her mistakes and would be producing another cinema movie soon.   “There’s no work without its challenges so I saw it as a challenge. I accept it as testing waters. You know mistakes do happen during the learning period but when you become the boss you will keep sailing.”

    Actress Mosun Filani has revealed that she paused her acting career to focus on raising her children, emphasizing how quickly time passes.

    She said that business was never a priority for her.

    After many years off-screen, the movie star recently announced her return to the industry.

    In an interview with Oyinmomo TV, Mosun explained that she prioritized her children’s upbringing over her career.

    She noted that once a child gains admission to the university, they are no longer under their parent’s care.

    Mosun added that she wanted to ensure she raised her kids well, especially considering the influence of social media.

    She wrote: “Business was not my priority. I decided to take that break. I took a long break for the kids to grow up. For how long do they stay with us? When a child is in University, he or she is no longer under the parents’ care, take it or leave it.

    So, how many years do you have to spend with your children? To train them?

    “Some people are even alleging that they are the ones releasing their s3x tapes, just to have followers. Let there be a scandalous post about anyone and see the massive growth that will happen to his/her Instagram page. That aspect bothers me a lot.”
