  • Lavonne Cele Tawo’s latest move

FEW years ago, a young pretty lady returned to Lagos from England and within a short space of time, she took an enviable position in the already saturated society circle. She dominated the social circuit with such charm and charisma. Years after she left Lagos, she remains unforgettable. That is Lavonne Cele-Tawo.

As a style icon herself and armed with a business acumen, she instantly set out for business with her “House of Etam”. Her area of specialty was both in the creative art of millinery and making bridal dresses. And in no distant time, House of Etam had become a brand.

But people will not forget in a hurry her whirlwind romance with city lawyer, Festus Keyamo. The sizzling romance was greeted with media frenzy and the product of their much publicised relationship is a baby girl named Xannella.

Just as the dust was settling on the affair, Lavonne closed shop and relocated to Abuja. She delved into publishing and rolled out Best Moments magazine. She seemed not be resting on her oars, and has put her sour romance tale behind her, as the glamorous lady, sources say, is doing well in the Federal Capital Terriory. Her latest move, we gathered, is to unveil another magazine, Big Boys.

  • OTOROGU WAGE DEMANDS MAY SCUTTLE RANGERS’ MOVE

OTOROGU WAGE DEMANDS MAY SCUTTLE RANGERS’ MOVE

A TOP official of Enugu Rangers has stated that Ezenwa Otorogu’s dream of playing for the Flying Antelopes may not materialise if he doesn’t lower his wage demands.

The official who craved anonymity expressed that the former Enyimba of Aba hitman asked to be paid between 10 and N12m as sign-on fees for just a season.

He added that Rangers does not have that much to spend on a player and that the club may wish not continue with further negotiations with the striker if he does not bit the rate down drastically.

“We are in negotiations with Otorogu that I can confirm to you but his asking price is too much. He is asking for between 10 and 12 million naira as sign on fees. We cannot afford that and I don’t think the deal will pull through if he doesn’t lower his wage demands.

“We depend of the state government for our daily upkeeps and a playing charging that much will know doubt create a big hole in our purse. We are still studying the situation but nothing is concluded until we meet him again,” the source told SportingLife.

Among other things the source noted that Otorogu gave his experience as a CAF Champions League player and a past winner of the Nigeria Premier League highest goals scorer as the impetus for Rangers to give him a fat package.

The Owerri born player got five goals for Enyimba in the 2008 Champions League to rate among the club’s top scorer alongside Stephen Worgu who netted 13. He added the NPL goals king the same year with his 15 goals for the Peoples Elephant.

NEMA to Ibaji residents: move out immediately

FOR residents of Ibaji, Ibaji Local Government Area of Kogi State, to be forewarned is to be forearmed. They have been asked by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to immediately relocate to a higher plane in neighboring councils and Anambra State.

The warning came in the wake of rising water level, even as rescuers yesterday continued to evacuate displaced residents from rooftops and tree tops.

NEMA’s Director-General Muhammad Sani-Sidi gave the warning yesterday after presenting additional relief materials to flood victims in Kogi State.

Sani-Sidi said: “It is now necessary to call on the people living in Ibaji to either move to Idah Local Government Area of the state or to closer communities in Anambra State.”

Presenting the relief materials to Governor Idris Wada, Sani-Sidi informed that his agency has been using big boats and the services of local canoe owners for the evacuation of trapped residents.
