Why I can’t be with woman I love, by Mr. Macaroni

Actor and content creator Mr Macaroni has opened up about his love life on the Dating In Lagos Show, hosted by Ariyiike Dimples.

He described himself as a “single pringle” who’s not actively searching for a relationship, citing the chaotic nature of dating in Lagos.

Mr Macaroni also revealed that he’s still in love with someone from his past, saying that circumstances have made it impossible for them to be together.

He stressed the importance of perseverance and commitment in relationships.

According to Mr Macaroni, true love requires dedication and understanding, adding that relationships aren’t always filled with joy and romance, but rather a willingness to work through challenges together.

He said, “I’m a single pringle. I’m single and not searching. If you say dating in Lagos, for me, I can’t really define it. But if it’s by what I have heard or what I’ve seen, dating in Lagos is chaotic, or better put, anarchy,” he said.

“I don’t have any personal experience when it comes to dating in Lagos because I’m not actively dating anymore. I’m not seeing anyone. My past relationship wasn’t even in Lagos. The time I really dated when I was in love, I was still in university then.

“I wouldn’t even say that in Lagos, I actively dated anyone. It’s not that I haven’t been in love. There’s someone that I really loved and I still love her, but there are a lot of circumstances that cannot allow us to be together, a lot of different tests. I don’t want to go into it.

“For me, what I think love to be… A lot of people think love is all about jolly good, shopping, spending money, and taking pictures. What I think is that both parties always just look for the best things to attach to them. I strongly believe in perseverance. And this is not a story of you having to suffer with your partner. You don’t necessarily need to suffer to be in a relationship. That is not what I mean. What I mean by that is, it’s not always jolly. When you understand that, and the moment you know that you love a person. When you say you love a person, you are willing to commit yourself 100 per cent.”

You saw an existing value, invested, made money – Mr. Macaroni debunks Seyi Law’s claim

Popular comedian Mr. Macaroni has publicly denied claims made by fellow comedian Seyi Law regarding their past collaborations, expressing disappointment over what he described as “unnecessary lies.”

In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), Mr. Macaroni revealed that Seyi Law first reached out to him in December 2019 with a project idea, which they went on to develop together.

At the time, Mr. Macaroni said he had already built a strong online presence with nearly 100,000 followers — a factor he believes attracted Seyi Law to the partnership.

He added that Seyi Law clearly saw value in their collaboration and benefited from it, particularly when he sought Mr. Macaroni’s support to promote his show just two months later.

Mr. Macaroni described the situation as heartbreaking, stating that it was unfortunate he had to publicly correct the narrative.

He wrote: “Ehya Uncle Seyi, you shouldn’t be doing this to yourself. I am ashamed that you are doing this and it breaks my heart that I also have to respond to you this way to correct some of these unnecessary lies.

“Firstly, I never asked your cousin to reach out to you on my behalf. How could he have brought me to ask for your support in 2020 when it was you who reached out to me in December 2019 telling me you had an idea that would do so well if we worked on it together.

“Bear in mind that I was already a viral sensation at this time with the daddy wa contents having almost 100,000 followers which is why you reached out with the idea. I don’t deny that collaborating with you on that content was a big deal for me for which i showed love and respect and reciprocated when you also called upon me to help you promote your show.

“Secondly, contrary to your claim that you agreed to support me when Tolu brought me to your Mom’s birthday in January 2020, you invited me yourself for the birthday celebration and I honored you with my presence.

I remember taking pictures with some of your guests who were happy to see me and we all had a great time.

“Thirdly, Before I posted the content I created with you, I already had over 100k followers with lots of viral contents including collaboration with other Stars e.g Lateef Adedimeji and Broda Shaggi to mention a few. Lastly, you shared this idea with me and we worked on it together to make the content.

“You making it seem like I was one nuisance that ambushed you at your mother’s birthday party who you decided to help is far from the truth! You saw an existing value, made an investment and cashed out when you called me to help promote your show 2 months after.

Happy 20th Anniversary Egbon. May God bless you and keep you.”

How I ran into half a billion debt due to scam, failed investment – Mr. Macaroni

Popular content creator and actor, Mr. Macaroni, has shared his personal journey of financial hardship, betrayal, and resilience.

Recounting his ordeal, he revealed that in 2021, he fell victim to a scam and a failed investment, resulting in the loss of all his savings.

To stay afloat, he resorted to borrowing money to meet his obligations, eventually accumulating a staggering debt of over half a billion naira.

He admitted that financial recklessness and excessive generosity contributed to his downfall. His situation worsened when someone he deeply trusted betrayed him, further destabilizing his finances.

Despite these setbacks, Mr. Macaroni has begun his recovery journey with the unwavering support of his loved ones.

He highlighted the importance of accountability, seeking help, and making wiser financial decisions as key lessons from his experience.

In a lengthy post on X, he wrote: Mr. Macaroni wrote: “You all know I never bring my personal issues to social media. I only wish to share this with my community because I want people to learn from my experience. Also a part of me won’t rest until I publicly thank God for his grace; therefore I feel obliged to do this.

“Sometime around 2021/2022 I was a victim of a scam and simultaneously a failed investment that cost me all I had saved at the time. It shook me deeply but I told NO ONE about it. If you know me well enough, you would know I do not like to share my problems. I could be going through the worst and at the same time helping others solve their own problems but I just would never share mine.

“Also, my training in Theatre is that the show must go on. As a Thespian, I have a duty to continue to entertain, inform, educate and use my art to make society a better place. So it didn’t matter whatever it was I was going through.

    The show must go on!

“After I lost all the money I had then, Trouble started when I had to borrow money from different sources to settle all pending commitments and also fulfill certain responsibilities I have always believed were mine to fulfill. I make money in millions so I never thought borrowing money to pay back with interests could ever be a problem. But I got too comfortable and it took me a long time to realize that I was using the money I was earning to pay back interests. Also, my financial recklessness did not help. Please don’t borrow money! But if you must, please be responsible.

“I’m not perfect. I try to be as honest as possible. I am a financially reckless person. I know it. My family and friends have always said it. And this is way before fame. This is how I have been for as long as I can remember. I would give out my money for lunch to someone who didn’t have breakfast, forgetting that I would go hungry when it’s time for lunch.

If you are like me, please learn to share your breakfast and keep your money for lunch. ( I have always known this but I am a stubborn person I would give out Breakfast, lunch and if possible dinner)

“I have somehow attributed that to a mandate from God. I tell myself all the time that the reason God has blessed me with anything I have is so that I can help people. But I know that even God does not want us to be reckless.

Back to my story, I was now in serious debt.. but it didn’t stop my recklessness.

“2024 was a turning point for my Acting career. Two of the films I featured in were screened at international festivals.. My performances in some other films released last year also earned me numerous commendations. However, It was also the most troubling year for me. I was burdened every single day and night knowing that I was over half a billion in debt.

“The last straw was when I was betrayed by someone whom I have always loved as a friend and sister.

She betrayed my trust, love and confidence and for that I was completely destabilized. I hardly trust people and nothing really surprises me about the actions of we humans but this one, I could never have prepared for. Such was the level of trust and love.

“But you see, one thing about me is that I’m a warrior! I have never backed down from a fight. When I fall, I bounce back even stronger by God’s grace and I keep my head up.

So I gathered myself, and made some very tough decisions and with the help of family and friends who have stood by me, I feel better than I have felt in the last 3 years!

“So this letter of love is for my people going through whatever. Please DO NOT GIVE UP!

People will betray you but you must not let that derail you. You are alive for a reason. And every day of your life, you must fight to be a better person than you were yesterday. You must also be accountable, seek help and make better decisions. It’s okay to make mistakes and learn from them. What is not okay is to keep repeating the same mistakes.

“May the love in our hearts be forever greater than the hate, betrayal and wickedness in the world”.

“I hope those of you supporting this abuse of power won’t cry foul when you or your loved ones are the victims.

“To be clear, this is not to support Online bullying and harassment. I strongly condemn it and believe that those involved should be made to face the consequences of their actions.

“I am a victim myself and I know how mentally damaging it is.

“But go to court and seek justice like the rest of us do.

“Don’t use your friends in government to illegally detain citizens. It may favor you now, but think about tomorrow when you no longer have that power or the closeness to that power.

“It might not be you, it might be someone you care about. What will become of us if everyone takes law into their own hands?”

His advice comes after reports of Toyin Abraham arresting an X user who allegedly wished her family harm, highlighting the importance of seeking justice through the proper channels.
