False rumours about pregnancy with Mr Macaroni broke me, says Motunde

Actress Omotunde Sogunle, popularly known as Motunde in Mr. Macaroni’s comedy skits, has revealed how a false rumour linking her romantically with the comedian once left her devastated.

In a recent interview, the actress recounted how she was accused of getting pregnant for her on-screen father, Mr. Macaroni, and allegedly terminating the pregnancy- a claim she described as “shocking and impossible.”

“They said I got pregnant for my on-screen daddy – Mr. Macaroni – and that I aborted the pregnancy. I was shocked. When did that happen? It is not possible. Must there be such a thing between people in a working relationship? I was really devastated then,” she said.

Motunde, however, added that she has since moved on from the incident and now laughs about it with the skitmaker.

“One of the things I have learned from Mr. Macaroni is to keep your silence for your own peace. The more you come out to counter false claims, the longer the matter drags and you will have to keep explaining,” she noted.

The actress, who has steadily built a fan base through her role as Macaroni’s ‘daughter,’ said the episode has made her more resilient and careful about handling controversies in the entertainment industry.

You putting up this video suggesting that I have issues with you because of your political affiliation is mischievous.

I have nothing against you because you supported APC!

“I still maintain respectful relationships with several people who supported APC  till now. Yours is an exception because of your uncivilized behavior during and after the elections. And this is an example.

“You have tried to paint me as an ingrate severally and I always looked away because I did not want to disrespect you.

“But when you start telling lies against me and try to label me the liar, that’s where I draw the line.

“I never in my life asked Tolu (Your Cousin) to beg you to collaborate with me.. You reached out yourself, shared an idea and we executed it together.

“I appreciated it then and I still appreciate it now.  What I don’t appreciate is you creating a false agenda to either sell your show or invite your APC Trolls to attack me (Even tho I’m used to their attacks). You know the truth and I do too. Please do better! This will be the last I will speak on this matter. Shalom.”

He added that not all celebrities want to speak on social issues, and even when they do, they get attacked.

Mr Macaroni stressed that real change doesn’t depend on celebrities but on the collective effort of the people.

He believes that when Nigerians truly want change, they won’t wait for celebrities to lead the way.

Mr Macaroni wrote: “I would never endorse a post like this!!! Please do not ask Celebrities to make sacrifices the people themselves are not ready to make. Celebrities are Citizens like you. If the majority of the people are quiet, why should we blame celebrities? Also not all celebrities wish to speak on social issues. So it’s unfair to manipulate us into speaking about certain topics because even when we speak, we get attacked!

“We can’t force people into advocacy simply because their line of work has made them famous. Let me give an example: Nigerians will see their fellow Nigerian being brutalised by the police.. instead of coming together to stop it that very moment, some will pass by, some others will watch, some others will record. Then the same Nigerians will come online to attack Celebrities for not speaking against police brutality. When Nigerians truly want change, The people will not wait for any celebrity. The people will become their own celebrities and they will lead and take charge!”

Mr Macaroni’s candid reflections offered a relatable take on the realities of navigating relationships in today’s world.

“It’s possible not to cheat but it is very difficult. I might not be in a relationship or considering it right now, but I’m a relationship expert.

“I’m serious. I’m an expert because my friends talk to me about their relationships and I advise them. But I think it’s easy to help them because I’m outside the relationship.

“So, it’s very difficult not to cheat as a married person. Both male and female, not just the man… You tell yourself that you will cheat only once, but once you start, there’s no going back”, he said.
