The Season 4 of the MTN Athletics Champs will expectedly be  breath-taking  according to, Osaze Ebueku, the Senior Manger Sponsorship and GTM, MTN Nigeria.

Speaking on the margins of the Confederation of Africa Athletics, (CAA) U-18/U-20 Championship in Abeokuta, Ebueku explained that the athletics event will be bigger and better than the previous Season 3 since it would  bring together more  schools across Nigeria.

“The 4th  Season, is in it planning stage but I can tell you that, it’s going to be full blown, it’s going to be bigger, with a lot of schools, secondary schools in participation, with more energetic champions emerging,” Ebueku told First ZealMediaCast Blog in Abeokuta.

He emphasized that the MTN Athletics Champs was put together three years ago to help discover and nurture young and talented athletes to fulfil their  potentialities.

“MTN Champs is about identifying young athletes across the country, working together with the Making of Champions, and with the help of Making of Champions, we have been able to stage athletics championships across the country and we have been able to discover talents for the past three years,” he explained.

He further  stressed that the Champs has been bearing fruit with various athletes from the Making of Champions winning medals for Team Nigeria at the CAA U-18/U-20 Championship and at other major international events.

“I am happy to report that some of these talents are been featured amongst Team Nigeria and you are seeing them winning medals, and we are very proud of that, we are building future stars, not just African champions, Olympic champions, but World champions, and we are very happy to be part of it.” he said.

“MTN Champs is focused on developing young athletes, because we believe that the bundles of talents in Nigeria is immense, it’s so huge, that’s why we decided to not leave everything to the government, we need to be part of something that projects Nigeria in good light and Athletics is one of them,” he further added.
