Blackmail won’t stop Tinubu’s re-election in 2027, says APC chieftain

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Director of Finance at Hadejia Jama’are River Basin Development Authority, Musa Iliyasu Kwankwaso has said that no amount of blackmail or political scheming will prevent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu from securing re-election in 2027.

Kwankwaso stated this in response to the recent political violence, including alleged thug attack on former Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami and the disruption of a meeting of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) leaders’ meeting in Kaduna recently.

On Monday thugs were reported to have attacked Malami’s convoy, destroying vehicles.

Similarly, earlier on Sunday thugs were reported to have disrupted a meeting by the ADC leaders in Kaduna.

The thugs reportedly invaded the venue of the meeting at NUT Endwell Hotel in Kaduna metropolis, smashing window glasses and throwing chairs at participants.

But in reaction, Kwankwaso said the incidents were politically motivated schemes aimed at tarnishing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s image and emasculating his re-election ambitions.

He added that the orchestrated plan to puncture Tinubu’s hard-earned image in the region would not work, saying the president is focused on human capital development.

According to him: “There were many presidents from northern Nigeria before President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Recently Buhari did eight years; but of a sudden people are talking about bastardizing the north.

“We all know what happened under Buhari. The security under Tinubu is fast improving. The Kaduna-Abuja expressway is safe. Bandits in northwestern states are on the run. Boka Haram has been forged from the north east.

“Thanks to the National Security Advisor, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu who is unrelenting.

“These accusations of thug attacks on opposition leaders being thrown at the APC are but orchestrated plans to blackmail the president ahead of the 2027 election.

“But President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s score card will always speak for him. There are many infrastructural projects going on in various parts of the northern region.

“Northerners have been appointed into key positions. The national security advisor, Nuhu Ribadu and The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa are from the north, to mention but a few.”

Why Tinubu’ll be re-elected in 2027, by Kwankwaso

The Executive Director of Finance, Hadejia Jama’are River Basin Development Authority (HJRBDA), Musa Iliyasu Kwankwaso, has explained why Nigerians will reelect President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

Aligning with the recent statement by the APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, that there is no vacancy in Aso Villa until 2031, Kwankwaso said the ambition of Tinubu for the second term in office remains sacrosanct.

The former Kano Commissioner for Rural Development and strong grassroots mobiliser, agreed with Ganduje’s position with or without the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), Tinubu will be reelected.

“No selfish political influence will stop Tinubu from securing massive votes in the Northern parts of Nigeria in the next presidential election,” the APC chieftain said.

Ganduje declared that Tinubu deserves votes from the North in the interest of fairness, a statement that did not go down well with a few political elites from the north.

Ganduje, who justified his position on power shift (zoning) said: “After the eight-year tenure of former President Muhammadu Buhari, it is only reasonable for the South to complete the same term in office.”

Reacting to attacks on Ganduje’s political advocacy, Kwankwaso said: “The North should wait till 2031 to reclaim power,” insisting that the ACF lacks political values to talk about North.

“Let me tell you, most of those in Arewa Forum were in power for decades but what do they do to savage the interest of the North?

“Is it now that it is too late, do they want to start defending the North? They should be told that it is no longer business as usual. They should rather save their private interest, not the North.”

He added: “People like Solomon Dalung, Najaatu Muhammad, Dr Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and host of others have nothing to tell the North because they cannot show what they did to the region.

“Ganduje’s position that Tinubu’s contribution in the Northern region in just a few months of his administration, suppresses so many others who have nothing to show, were completely on record.

“Ganduje is right to say the North should wait till 2031 to start talking about power because right now one can clearly see the huge contributions of his to the development of the region,” he said.

“Today the entire Northern Nigeria has become a project site with so many projects going on and these are being undertaken by President Tinubu, and more are still in the pipeline and will come by the time he returns to Power in 2027.”

Hailing Ganduje for his leadership style, Kwankwaso said: “We have seen, today, apart from winning so many states in the run-off elections, Ganduje is daily receiving the National Assembly members – senators, House of Representatives, and other top echelon from other parties.

“These and many other strong points clearly show that it’s just a matter of time that President Tinubu will make it back to power in 2027, and this has strongly unsettled Kwankwaso and his Kwankwasiyya supporters.”

He added:  “President Bola Tinubu’s vision and commitment to revitalising the nation’s economy and transforming the country through massive infrastructure development have endeared him to many. Nigerians will re-elect him come 2027 general elections.”
