  • Akpororo, Kenny Blaq, others for Naija Fm’s 7th anniversary

    PLANS are in full gear for the 7th Edition of the Naija FM Comedy Jam and Award Night for the year 2018. Comedians and musicians including Akpororo, Gordons, Bow Joint, Kenny Blaq, Timaya, Kcee, Falz, Mayourkun, Slimcase, Jo el, Niniola, Seyi Shey, Orezi, Koko Pee, Aunty Rayzor and Pasuma are billed to entertain guests at the event which will hold on Sunday 4th of November, 2018 at the Muson Centre, Onikan Lagos at 6pm.

    The announcement was made by the Programs Director of the popular indigenous Radio station, Osamoje Isaac, during a week-long celebration to mark the “eighth anniversary” of Naija FM 102.7.

    As part of Naija fm’s anniversary celebrations, the On Air Personalities had hit the streets on a CSR drive, controlling traffic in different parts of Lagos State. Osamoje Isaac had stated that “the essence of the week long traffic control drive was to enable its teeming listeners feel the pulse of the personalities they interact with on a daily basis on their favourite radio station”

    The categories as tradition for the Comedy Jam and Award Night are for Online Comedian of the year include; Sitcom of the year; Comedian of the year; Most promising Comedian of the year; Comedy actor of the Year; Most Fashionable Comedian of the Year; Comedy Club of the year and Best Comedy Show of the Year.

    According to organizers, one of the Highpoints of the night will be the presentation of the prestigious Hall Of Fame Award to be awarded to an icon in the industry.

  • Inspen retirement mata debuts on Naija FM

    Inspen Media has launched a pidgin programme on radio aimed at deepening pension awareness.
    This was contained in a statement issued by Inspen Media Chief Executive Officer, Chuks Okonta. He said the programme tagged:’Retirement Mata, billed to begin Friday, April 7, will be aired on NAIJA FM 102.7 on Fridays from 5:00 – 5:30 p.m.
    He added that the 30-minute live programme will focus on how to leverage the pension system to secure fulfilled retirement lifestyle.
    He noted that the programme will be promoted through interviews with pension and insurance operators, regulators, workers and retirees, stressing that there will also be news updates and response to feedbacks from the public, which will be obtained through social media handles and live calls.
    Okonta expressed optimism that the programme would help address low awareness on operations of pension and provide an avenue for the public to interact with regulators and operators, thereby increasing the knowledge base of the public.
    According to him, the programme is centred on lifestyle and designed to reach out to people at the echelon and grassroots and provide opportunities for them to express themselves and proffer ways to improve the pension system.

    Naija FM Lagos launches on GOtv

    GOtv has introduced a new audio channel, Naija FM 102.7, on its platform.

    The Lagos-based Pidgin English audio channel, which launched 14 April on GOtv, is available on channel 301 to all subscribers.

    Naija FM Lagos is the second audio channel to launch on GOtv in Nigeria.

    John Ugbe, Managing Director, MultiChoice Nigeria, said the channel addition will further boost local programming on the GOtv platform.

    “We regularly assess the quality and relevance of our content to ensure that it caters to the different tastes and preferences of our subscribers. The launch of Naija FM Lagos on GOtv is driven by our understanding that local content is important to our subscribers,” he said.

    He also noted that no other digital terrestrial television (DTT) operator in Nigeria has shown more commitment and support for local content than GOtv.

    Also speaking on the development, Chris Ubosi, Managing Director of Megalectrics Ltd, owners of Naija FM, said: “We are delighted to partner with MultiChoice Nigeria on the launch of Naija FM 102.7, Lagos, on GOtv. The partnership is significant as it creates an additional medium for us to reach our audience.”

    GOtv subscribers canstart their day with Naija FM Lagos by tuning to the morning motivational show, Morning Runs, hosted by the trio of Godwin Aruwayo (First Voice), Sabina (Naija P) and Ushbebe.

    From 4pm to 10pm, weekdays, listeners can follow the conversation on the Gragra Xpress show hosted by OSAM, Naija FM’s tallest man, and OTB, the mouth of the Niger Delta.

    DJ Atte will get listeners partying every Saturday from 10pm till dawn, while Sabina aka NaijaPastor will serve up spiritual soul-food, praise and worship music on the Sunday Best Show.
