    Naija Times publisher Braimah loses mum

    The family of Ehi Braimah, publisher of Naija Times, an independent online newspaper, has announced the death of its matriarch, Rose Osovbakhia Braimah (nee Abebe), who passed onto glory on November 4, 2023 at 86.

    In a statement for the family, Braimah said the deceased was a beautiful woman, a resourceful wife and a highly respected community leader of Ughodin Quarters at Iruekpen, Ekpoma, in Esan West Local Government of Edo State.

    Mama, the statement said, was a devout Christian, a dependable care-giver, an enterprising small business owner, a gracious philanthropist, an engaging story teller and an unrelenting activist.

    “Each time a new administration was inaugurated in the country, my mother used to wonder whether it would be better than the previous one,” reminisced Braimah.  

    “She was deeply concerned about the pervasive economic hardships and deteriorating quality of life of Nigerians. My mum always talked about the humanity that made other people’s lives better.”

    • Soyinka, Abati, others to speak at event

    The third anniversary lecture and book presentation of Naija Times will hold on October 19, 2023 at the Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja, the acting Editor of the publication, Udo Prince Toby, has said.

    In a statement, Toby said Nobel laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka, will deliver the goodwill message while popular journalist and television host, Dr. Reuben Abati, will speak on the theme of the event, Journalism in the Service of Society, which is also the slogan of Naija Times.

    The event is also expected to feature the presentation of Naija Times’ first publication, titled: For A Better Society: A Compilation of Editorials published in Naija Times from September 2020 to July 2023, which will be reviewed by Editor-in-Chief of Leadership newspaper, Azu Ishiekwene.

    Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of Naija Times, Ehi Braimah said: “The book will be a valuable resource for media practitioners, communications specialists, political leaders, strategists and consultants, CEOs, public policy analysts, civil servants, parliamentarians, legal practitioners, human rights activists, bankers and financial analysts, researchers, scholars, students, sports administrators, entrepreneurs and captains of industry, diplomats, economists as well as public affairs commentators.”
