    Embattled singer and record label boss, Naira Marley, has encouraged fans to be independent thinkers and not worry about others’ opinions.

    On his X page, he advised his followers to use their own brains and minds to make decisions, rather than being influenced by what others think.

    He emphasised that as a “Marlian”, it’s important to focus on one’s own thoughts and beliefs, rather than being swayed by external opinions. 

    “You have a brain and mind of your own. Use it, and reach your own decisions,” he wrote.

    “As a Marlian, what people in the world think of you is really none of your business,” he said.

    Netizens slam Naira Marley over DNA test demand

    Embattled singer, Naira Marley has caused a stir as he weighed in with a diss song on the DNA test saga between late singer, MohBad’s wife and his family. 

    According to Naira Marley, the paternity test is important to ascertain the main father of the deceased son, Liam. 

    The Nation reported that after the death of MohBad in September 2023, some social users have been clamouring for a DNA test on the son he left behind. 

    In a recent video making the rounds on social media, the singer was seen vibing to a new song from an up-and-coming singer, Prince AK2 who is an affiliate to his record label.

    “Who is the father of the child,” the chorus of the song titled ‘DNA is Needed’ stated in the Yoruba language.

    The video has since sparked a wave of reactions from social media users who suggested that Naira Marley was subtly shading Wunmi, the wife of his late ex-signee.

    teeto__olayeni said: “Oga you are cancelled and irrelevant. Mtchewwwwwww.”

    remiasher opined: “Can u imaging? It’s the audacity coming from this guy. Naira should be the last person contributing on this issue but na wunmi fault too… All those supporting naira’s career after all the footage shown your kids will be bullied all their lives in everything they do, they would get to the same breaking point mohbad got to that led to him being depressed, vulnerable and suicidal and if naira contributed to mohs death it will be your own portion cause I’m surprised people still support this guy.”

    _.chinnel argued: “Wunmi and Mohbad’s family brought this upon themselves,if they had respected the late artist memory, kept their issue off the media and was more focus on getting justice for him,this fa-iled record label won’t have the guts to release a diss track..”

    In an Instagram story, he asserted his commitment, assuring his adversaries that he has numerous future endeavours that will undoubtedly provoke them.

    Encouraging patience, he reaffirmed his allegiance to his record label, Marlians.

    The musician has been blacklisted by many Nigerians after his alleged involvement in Mohbad’s death.

    Since Mohbad’s demise, many Nigerians have stopped listening to Naira Marley’s music and withdrawn their support.

    Controversial singer, Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, has reacted positively to the reports of his signee, Oniyide Azeez, better known as Zinoleesky, welcoming a baby girl.

    Recall that there have been reports online alleging that Zinoleesky, formerly in a relationship with Shubomi, welcomed a bouncing baby girl.

    Also, a photo of Zinoleesky carrying his baby made the rounds online as congratulatory messages poured in for the singer.

    However, on Friday, December 22, Naira Marley confirmed the news as he shared a photo of Zinoleesky carrying his baby.

    Popular singer and Record label boss of the Marlian Label, Azeez Fashola, widely known as Naira Marley, has slammed a N500 million suit on actress Iyabo Ojo for false accusations and defamatory content against him on the internet.

    The lawyer to the singer, Olalekan Ojo, in a letter sent to the actress, highlighted the accusations made in a September 2023 post on her Instagram page, stating that the actress accused Naira Marley of engaging in spiritual and physical dealings with the late singer MohBad.

    The lawyer also said the actress accused Naira Marley of causing mental harm to the late singer.

    Naira Marley’s attorney seeks a redress of N500 million from Iyabo Ojo and a public apology to be posted on her page and published in a national daily.

    According to the letter, failure to adhere to the condition placed would force them to file a lawsuit against her.

    The Nation reported that Iyabo Ojo had called out Naira Marley for various issues like drugging her children amongst others bad things. 

    The issue began after Naira Marley’s former signee, MohBad died tragically on September 12, 2023.

    Marlian Music record boss, Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley and popular show promoter, Balogun Eletu, known as Sam Larry, have stormed the social media with their presence following their release from custody.

    Sam Larry shared a video of himself, Naira Marley, and Zino, all together in Lekki on social media.

    Recall that the duo were in October arraigned and remanded over their alleged involvement in circumstances that led to the death of a musician, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.

    They were, however, released on November 17, by the Lagos State Police Command after they met their bail conditions.

    The trial judge, Justice Nicholas Owiebo is said to be attending a judges’ conference..

    The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is prosecuting the defendant on charges bordering on cyber crime.

    IThe anti-graft agency preferred the charges on May 14, 2019

    Fashola, who sang the popular song: “Am I a yahoo boy”, was consequently, arraigned on May 20, 2019 before Justice Nicholas Oweibo, but he pleaded not guilty.

    The court had accordingly, granted him bail in the sum of two million naira, with two sureties in like sum.

    Trial has since commenced in the case and still ongoing.

    On Oct. 6, Justice Oweibo had issued a warrant for production of the defendant, following his absence from trial on the last date .

    Oweibo’s order, followed an application for production warrant by the prosecution, Mrs Bilikisu Buhari.

    NAN recalls that the police in Lagos had detained Naira Marley and his associate, Sam Larry, in connection with death of Nigerian artiste, Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as “Mohbad”.

    At the last adjourned date on Oct. 30, defence counsel, Mr Olalekan Ojo (SAN) had informed the court that the defendant was still clearly absent from court inspite of the court’s order for his production.

    The court had consequently, adjourned the case until Nov. 13 and 30 for cintinaution of trial

    Trial will now continue on the next date Nov. 30.

    According to the EFCC, the defendant committed the offences on different dates between Nov. 26, 2018 and Dec.11, 2018, as well as May 10, 2019.

    The commission alleged that Fashola and his accomplices conspired to use different Access Bank ATM cards to defraud their victims.

    It alleged that the defendant used a bank credit card issued to another person, in a bid to obtain fraudulent financial gains.

    The EFCC also said that the defendant possessed counterfeit credit cards belonging to different people, with intent to defraud which amounted to theft.

    The alleged offences contravene the provisions of Sections 1 23 (1) (b), 27 (1) and 33(9) of Cyber Crime (Prohibition) Prevention Act, 2015.
