The Comptroller General of Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Mrs Kemi Nanna Nandap has warned citizens against the activities of fraudsters posing as recruitment agents or using fake websites to defraud Nigerians.
Nandap described the activities the fraudsters as alarming, saying the NIS is working with other security agencies to apprehend those behind the fraudulent activities.
She maintained in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Service, Kenneth Udo, that recruitment into Immigration would also be conducted through verifiable official channels.

“The Nigeria Immigration Service maintains that all recruitment exercises are conducted in a transparent, free and merit-based manner.
“Vacancies are advertised through the NIS website, official government channels and recognized national newspapers.
“The NIS is working closely with relevant authorities to apprehend those involved in these fraudulent activities and bring them to justice,” the Immigration boss stated.
Nandap further expressed the commitment of the Service to “upholding the highest standards of integrity and professionalism in all its operations.”
Due to the development, the Comptroller General urged the public to remain vigilant and refrain from using fraudulent recruitment schemes.
“Anyone who receives unsolicited messages or is approached by individuals claiming to represent the NIS on recruitment matters should report to the Nigeria Immigration Service through the following official channels:
