    CHAN Eagles face Zanzibar today

    Super Eagles B captain, Nduka Junior, has exuded optimism about the team’s preparations for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), set to take place across Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.

    Speaking ahead of today’s international friendly against Zanzibar, Nduka emphasized the importance of the fixture in sharpening the squad for their Group D battles against Senegal, Congo, and Sudan.

     “It was an amazing welcome from the people of Zanzibar,” Nduka said. “I must confess, they are very good people. In terms of our preparations, we still have about a week before the competition begins.”

    The Nigeria home-based team is scheduled to play their first two group matches in Zanzibar, before rounding off their group stage campaign in Tanzania against Congo.

     “The game against Zanzibar is crucial for us. It will help us identify our strengths and weaknesses ahead of the real test. Right now, we don’t have much information about Zanzibar, so no one is talking about them yet—but the game will give us valuable insight,” he added.

    With morale high and training in full gear, the Super Eagles B are determined to make a strong statement at CHAN 2024.

    Super Eagles B skipper. Nduka Junior, is thrilled with the prospect of representing Nigeria at the upcoming African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda from 1st  February through 28th .

    After missing out on previous three editions, the Nigerian team secured their qualification by defeating the Black Galaxies of Ghana 3-1 on aggregate in the qualifiers.

    It was the first time Nigeria would be beating Ghana in the competition’s history and Nduka in a chat revealed that the Super Eagles B are satisfied with being the underdogs and that it will spur the team up to break barriers.

    “We are not the favourites; teams like Morocco, co-hosts Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda are the strong contenders,” Nduka said. “We will respect our opponents, but we are not intimidated by any of them.”

    “We will give our best, just as we did in the playoffs against Ghana. We are united, and we have quality players ready to represent the country at CHAN,” he added.

     “This is an opportunity to showcase our talent and enhance our profiles,” Nduka concluded.
