The fourth episode of the Big Brother Naija Season 9 reunion took a heated turn as housemate Nelly Mbonu confronted Kassia, accusing her of sabotaging her relationship with fellow housemate Kellyrae.
Nelly alleged that the fallout between her and Kellyrae, Kassia’s husband, stemmed from false information Kassia shared about Onyeka while they were still in the house. She claimed Kassia presented the claims as facts, only for her to later find out they were baseless.
When asked what caused Kellyrae’s sudden change in attitude towards her, Nelly responded pointedly: “Obviously, it’s the wife.”
In response, Kassia denied the accusation, suggesting that Nelly may have misunderstood the situation.
“It never for once felt like me and Kellyrae had issues,” she said.
The host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, asked: “So, when did you notice [his change of attitude towards you]?”
Nelly replied, “Obviously, it’s the wife.”
Kassia protested, “Hmm? You stopped talking to him. What do you mean by, ‘obviously, it’s the wife’?”
Nelly fumed, “Can you shut up and let me speak? … Anyways, like I was saying, the wife obviously had issues with me in the house [on the show] because I told Onyeka you said something that you told me Onyeka told you. That thing you told me, you were so confident that Onyeka told you that Onyeka told you that. You never told me that it was your instincts.”
Kassia inferred, “I said two things. Onyeka said the first one, the second one was my instincts. Maybe you didn’t understand.”
