    Taaooma, Agatha Amata, Emeka Ossai to speak at NEMCEA 2025

    Maryam Apaokagi-Green aka Taaooma, Agatha Amata and Emeka Ossai have been confirmed as some of the panelists for sessions at the 2025 edition of the Nigeria Electronic Media Content Exhibitions and Awards.

    This was made known during a media parley in Lagos on Tuesday, August 19.

    As part of this year’s edition of the exhibition and awards ceremony, which is produced by the Electronic Media Content Owners Association of Nigeria, there will be training for EMCOAN members on how to leverage artificial intelligence to save time in content creation.

    The President of EMCOAN, Adeniji Omirin, stated this while announcing plans for NEMCEA 2025 with the theme “Sustainable Content Creation in a Fragmented Media Landscape.”

    Omirin also revealed that the event will be held between September 16, 2025 and September 17, 2025.

    “We are privileged to have as our lead facilitator, Mr John Orakwe, an award-winning AI strategist and one of the world’s top AI educators, who has trained thousands of business leaders across several countries. With him, we will explore both the opportunities and ethical considerations of AI in media production.

    “This is a bold step forward. It is evidence of our belief that Nigeria’s creative and electronic content industry must not be left behind in the global digital transformation.

    “By equipping our professionals, students, and emerging creators with these skills, we position Nigeria not just as a consumer of global media technology, but as a producer of content and innovation that can stand on any stage in the world,” Omirin highlighted.

    Also, the Project Director, NEMCEA 2025, Stephen Alayande, who is also the association’s general secretary, stated that the theme of the conference addressed the critical challenge facing the content creation industry today, which is how to create and monetise high-quality content when audiences are scattered across countless platforms and devices.

    “The conference will feature thought-provoking panel sessions and discussions on audience engagement, cross-sector collaboration, content monetisation, and technology-driven storytelling.

    “Director-general roundtable: A first-of-its-kind gathering that will bring together heads of regulatory bodies and key industry players to discuss policies and initiatives that will foster growth and innovation within the electronic media ecosystem. This exclusive session aims to bridge the gap between content creators, advertisers, broadcasters, exhibitors, content owners and regulators, paving the way for a more streamlined and profitable industry,” he added.

    He noted that individuals and organisations who have demonstrated excellence, innovation, and creativity in the electronic media content space would be honoured and celebrated at the NEMCEA awards night. This year’s event marks the fourth edition of NEMCEA, organised by the association.

    Alayande also listed other expected panelists confirmed for the event includingDr Olalekan Fadolapo, Somnath Malakar, Franklin Ozekhome, Adheke Ada, Lanre Adisa, Osamede Uwubanwen, Ijeoma Onah, Jonadebegbowon, Jibe Ologeh, Nneka Isaac-Moses,Hajia Amina Mohammed, dr. Evelyn Nwosu, Dr Ayobami Olugbenga Wyse, Ehi Ohiani, John Orakwe, and Claude Mwamba.

    Organisers gear up for 4th edition of NEMCEA

    The Electronic Media Content Owners Association of Nigeria (EMCOAN) has announced preparations towards hosting the fourth edition of  Nigeria Electronic Media Content Exhibitions and Awards (NEMCEA).

    According to a recent statement, the fourth edition is slated to hold between September 17, 2025, and September 18, 2025, at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos.

    The statement further noted that the fourth edition will draw in the brightest minds and most influential players across TV, Radio, Film, Digital Content, Advertising, and Media Buying from across the country and beyond.

    In the words of the President of EMCOAN, Adeniji Omirin, “We are happy to announce that NEMCEA in its fourth edition has become the definitive platform for showcasing, networking, and celebrating excellence in Nigeria’s vibrant electronic media landscape. NEMCEA 2025 promises to be bigger, bolder, and even more impactful than the other three editions thus far.”

    Omirin also asserted that NEMCEA 2025 will showcase high-impact exhibitions of the best of Nigerian electronic media content and production capabilities, inspiring panel sessions, strategic networking opportunities and the NEMCEA Awards.

    According to Alayande Stephen, the Project Director, “NEMCEA 2025 central theme is “Sustainable content creation in a fragmented media landscape.”

    The NEMCEA 2024 was held amidst pomp and glee between Wednesday, August 7 and Thursday, August 8 at the Radisson Blu in Ikeja GRA.

    The award ceremony was held yesterday night, with several dignitaries in attendance.

    Actor Greg Ojefua led the pack of winners at the event which had 24 winners.

    NEMCEA 2024 nominees list out

    Nigerian Electronic Media Content Exhibition and Awards (NEMCEA) has unveiled nominees for the 20-category awards in the third year.

    According to a statement from NEMCEA, the awards is renowned for recognising outstanding achievements in different categories of content genre.

    Star actors Jide Kosoko, Rotimi Salami and Gregory Ojefua have been nominated for third NEMCEA award in the Best Actor category.

    The actors were joined by their female colleagues, Mary Gold, Ireti Osayemi and Ronke Odusanya, who were nominated in the Best Actress category.

    Other nominees in different categories include Adeola Dada, Wale Lawal, Kayode Peters, Victor Eyike, Femi Are, Joan Ologeh, Kolade Dominate, and Tijani Olaide.

    The awards rewards practitioners across five broad categories in Web/TV Drama Series, TV Features, Radio, Social Media/Online and International Content/Channel for the 2024 event.

    This 2024 edition has once again shown a stellar lineup of nominees for this ceremony.

    “We are thrilled to announce this year’s nominees, who represent the best in the industry in their different categories,”said Adeniji Omirin, the EMCOAN President.

    He emphasised further saying “NEMCEA 2024 Awards will continue to recognize and honour outstanding achievements in media and entertainment, and we look forward to celebrating their accomplishments at the upcoming ceremony come Thursday 8th August 2024. @ the Radisson Blu Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria.”

    In the same vein, NEMCEA organisers have shortlisted the trio of Lai Mohammed, Toyin Subair, and Dr. Olalekan Fadolapo for a Special Industry Recognition tagged Distinguished Award as Champions of TV Broadcast Revolution in Nigeria.

    Also to be honoured is Agatha Amata for her contribution and selfless services to the growth of the in dustry.

    Branch, Ejiro, Williams shine at NEMCEA Awards

    The Nigerian Electronic Media Content Exhibition and Award (NEMCEA) 2023 edition had come and gone but its memories will continue to linger.

    With much discourse, issues and perspectives raised, the three-day event held at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos between August 22 and 24.

    Day 1 and Day 2 saw the opening ceremony, conferences/panel sessions, featured sessions/workshops and exhibition and showcase of the best of Nigerian content and programmes from TV, radio and online space.

    Day 3 was to reward excellent content creation and production from Nigeria.

    The award nite came with its glamour with the keynote speaker, Dr. Tunji Sotimirin, charging stakeholders to increase their standard of production to be able to meet the unique criteria of NEMCEA The Awards yearly.

    The Jury Chairman, Francis Onwochie, said: “Awards and reward systems globally help to inspire output. Most of the awards this year are competitive, some are non-competitive, and so internally administered,” he submitted.

     The winners of NEMCEA 2023 ‘The Awards’ included Femi Branch, Midi Agunpopo and Femi Idowu, who won Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Director respectively.

     Other winners were Kraks TV, Zeb Ejiro, Opa Williams, Adekunle Salawu, Adeniji Omirin and the late Amaka Igwe.
