    NFSC expel Abidjan’s chapter vice president

    President General, Nigeria Football Supporters Club (NFSC), Dr Rafiu Ladipo, has revealed that the Vice President of NFSC, Abidjan branch, Olarotimi Najeem Akinloye has been expelled from the NFSC for anti-club activities.

    Ladipo further said Sunday Alabi Oki is the only president of the supporters club for the Cote d’Ivoire chapter, revealing that Olarotimi, as vice president, took advantage of the current president’s health challenge and imposed himself as the president. 

    He added that Olarotimi has been paraded himself as President, which according to him, confirmed by the Nigeria Embassy in Cote d’Ivoire.

    “Olarotimi Najeem toppled Oki’s government unofficially. He has been doing anti-club activities and he is hereby dismissed as a member of FSC. He is no longer our member,” Ladipo said. 

    Meanwhile, NFSC president, Reverend Samuel Ikpea has called on Nigerians in the diaspora to always offer their best to support the Super Eagles, saying the football supporters are in Cote d’Ivorie to give the national team maximum support.

    NFSC canvases support for Super Eagles

    The Nigeria Football Supporters Club (NFSC) says it has begun massive mobilisation of Nigerians resident in Cote D’Ivoire to storm Abidjan, to cheer the Super Eagles to victory in the 2023 AFCON.

    Bright Urenyere, Chairman, Mobilisation Committee, NFSC, Cote D’Ivoire chapter, said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

    The  24-nation continental spectacle holds between  January 13 and  February 11 in six stadia across five cities in Cote D’Ivoire.

    Urenyere noted that the Cote D’Ivoire chapter of the NFSC, which was established over three decades ago, remained the only registered supporters club on ground mobilising local support for the Super Eagles.

    He said aside galvanising local support, thousands of NFSC members from Nigeria and neighbouring countries led by National Chairman, Samuel Ikpea, were expected to storm Abidjan ahead of the tournament.

    “We have been doing a lot to sensitise and mobilise Nigerians here in Cote D’Ivoire to come out en mass to support the Super Eagles when the tournament starts.

     “Our chapter has more than 500 registered members, but we are looking to strengthen our support with mobilisation of more than 1,000 Nigerians resident here to cheer our Super Eagles to victory,” he said.
