    Seasoned actress Ngozi Ezeonu has faced backlash from fans after sharing tributes to late colleague, Nkechi Nweje.

    Ezeonu expressed shock and sorrow over Nweje’s passing, revealing she had no idea of her health struggles.

    She described Nweje as one of the kindest individuals she met in the industry.

    “It is so difficult to believe you are gone ezigbo nwanyi onicha. I never knew you were ill. So I will never see your ever smiling face again. Nkechi, you were one of the nicest people I met in nollywood. This is indeed a big blow. GO WELL MY BEAUTIFUL SISTER,” she wrote.

    However, fans are questioning how Ezeonu could be unawares of Nweje’s health issues, sparking a heated debate in the comments section.

    Ezeonu’s tribute was meant to honor Nweje’s memory but it has instead ignited a conversation about the disconnect between Nollywood celebrities.

    Seasoned actress Kate Henshaw has reacted to the recent controversy surrounding colleague Ngozi Ezeonu’s scolding of braless girls during an audition.

    In a video that went viral, Ngozi Ezeonu was seen reprimanding the girls for their outfits, emphasising that an audition is a professional setting.

    Kate Henshaw expressed support for Ngozi Ezeonu’s stance, stating that an audition is essentially a job interview and should be treated with the seriousness it deserves.

    She argued that participants should dress professionally and not as if they were going for a casual errand.

    Kate also addressed criticisms from social media users who argued that Ngozi Ezeonu had no right to tell auditionees how to dress.

    She emphasised that Ngozi Ezeonu has every right to set standards for her audition and that participants should respect those standards.

    Henshaw said in a video: “I don’t know what bra did to you, you just want to jangle everywhere, that’s on you. But if you’re going somewhere for an interview, an audition is an interview for a role, you don’t dress as if you’re going down the road to buy sugar and groundnuts. I don’t blame them, I blame us for making entries so easy. This is a profession that has Aunty Joke, RMD, Ego Boyo, Aunty Ngozi Ezeonu, Aunty Patience, Aunty Taiwo Ajayi-Lycett, the late Sam Loco Efe, so many greats.

    “If they don’t teach you at home, you will be taught outside. Then someone on X app said ‘she’s not their mother or family member to tell them how to dress’ You don’t want to dress well, stay at home. 

    “She has every right to say she doesn’t want to see this kind of dressing at her audition, and so it should be. Let’s put some respect on ourselves and what we’re coming to do.”

    Media personality, Yeni Kuti, has reacted over the controversy surrounding veteran actress Ngozi Ezeonu’s rebuke of two young ladies for wearing revealing outfits to an audition.

    On TVC’s Your View show, Yeni Kuti stated that Ngozi has no right to condemn the ladies, questioning what she wore and did during her own youthful days.

    Yeni Kuti said that older people often forget their own past indiscretions.

    “It wasn’t any of her business. All she had to do was reject them, that’s all. We older people tend to forget what we did in our youthful days”, she said.

    Veteran actress Ngozi Ezeonu, in a viral video, has been seen reprimanding two young ladies for wearing unsuitable attire to a movie audition.

    Ezeonu, who was a judge at the audition, expressed disapproval of the ladies’ decision to wear crop tops without bras.

    In the video, Ezeonu can be seen sternly telling the girls that their attire was inappropriate for an audition.

    She stated that she would disqualify anyone who appeared before her dressed in such a manner.

    In the video, Ezeonu was seen saying: “Any day I’m on any audition table and anyone comes to me dressed like this, I will disqualify that person.

    “How can you come to an audition without a bra and with a crop top? It’s wrong.

    “Who are you trying to impress? That’s why people see us as people who are not serious”.

    Ezeonu emphasised that as a serious-minded actor, she would never dress in such a way, even when she was younger.

    She encouraged the ladies to dress more modestly and respectfully, especially when attending auditions.

    “I’m a serious-minded actor; you can’t catch me dressed like this, even when I was your age. It’s wrong. You carry breasts, leave breasts without a bra — ahnahn, why?”, she said.

    Death rumour: I’m alive, healthy, says Veteran Ngozi Ezeonu

    Veteran Nollywood actress, Ngozi Ezeonu has refuted rumours circulating about her demise.

    The actress, via her Instagram page in a video, said she is “alive and healthy.”

    Her reaction follows the assumption of many on social media that she has finally passed on.

    According to her, her previous post in which she posted a candle was a tribute to a friend she recently lost.

    She said: “I lost a very close friend of mine, I posted a candle, a half-burnt candle and they now put my picture on that candle and everybody is saying that I died.

    “It is wrong. I am alive and healthy, please.

    “In journalism, what you do when in doubt is you leave out. If you cannot get across to the person to at least confirm the story, you don’t post.

    “Don’t do that, please. Don’t try it again. This is a new year, why would anybody want to hurt each other just because they want people to follow them?”

    “The calls I have been receiving have been very worrisome. I don’t know why anybody should take my post.”
