No fewer than 3,000 athletes between the ages of 16-25 years will participate in the maiden edition of the Niger Delta Sports Festival slated to hold between April 1st and 9th 2025 in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
Speaking at the media parley on Saturday at the Radisson Blu, Ikeja GRA, Lagos, the Project Consultant, Itiako Ikpokpo said the festival, proudly supported by Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), was organised to discover and groom the next generation of athletes within the region.

Ikpokpo stressed further that the event is mainly for the indigene of the nine states that constitute the Niger/Delta region, either by birth or parents.
