  • FG calls for protection of forest resources

FG calls for protection of forest resources

The Minister of Environment, Alhaji Ibrahim Usman, has called on stakeholders to collaborate with government in efforts to restore the integrity of the country’s forestry sector and protect wildlife resources.

The minister made the call on Tuesday in Abuja at a workshop on National Forest Investment Programme ( NFIP ) for the implementation of West Africa Forest Convergence Plan.

Usman, who was represented by Mr Asuquo Enile, Director of General Services, Ministry of Environment, attributed the current state of forests across the country to indiscriminate deforestation, degradation, poaching and trafficking of wild flora.

He said that these untoward human activities had reduced the ability of the forests to supply products and play their role of protecting water bodies, biodiversity conservation, wildlife habitats and carbon sinks.

He noted that most of the forest reserves and trees on production landscape were managed without basic management principles.

The minister said that allocations of timber resources were no longer based on technical considerations but on political patronage.

Usman said that government, after considering all the loopholes, would provide the enabling environment and funds to encourage meaningful participation of relevant stakeholders in efforts to attain sustainable utilisation of forest resources.

“The meeting must consider the fact that deforestation and forest degradation negatively affect the ecosystem.

“The meeting must come up with investment opportunities and financial actions to achieve sustainable forest management for income generation and poverty reduction,’’ he said.

The FAO Representative in Nigeria, Mr Suffyan Koroma, said that for the successful implementation of the NFIP, FAO had provided the necessary support for ECOWAS states in the development of the roadmap.

He said that the main objective of the workshop was for participants to review and improve the draft NFIP document, prior to its adoption as advocacy and resource mobilisation tools at all levels.

Koroma, who was represented by Hajiya Sadiya Ibrahim, an official of FAO, said that the workshop would also conduct substantive discussions of the forest investment programme for 2018-2022 and revise the investment requirements.

He said that the expected results of the workshop included how the prioritisation and estimation of the cost of the priority national actions were analysed and improved.

He said that the roadmap for the effective implementation of the NFIP would also be established.

To achieve this, Koroma said that FAO had also strategically engaged key stakeholders in the environment sector to implement interventions that would reduce deforestation and degradation without having adverse consequences on the environment.

He, therefore, urged participants to review and improve the draft NFIP document so as to put in place a good roadmap for the effective implementation of the plan.

Dr Johnson Boanuh, the Director of Environment Directorate, ECOWAS, said that the workshop was aimed at reviewing and improving the draft investment plan for validation by the national actors.

He said that the workshop would also serve as tools for advocacy and resource mobilisation for sustainable forest management at the country level.

“In the last two years, 14 national forest programmes have been prepared, leading to the successful validation of 11 of the programmes.

“The 12th in the series is to examine and enrich the draft document by the stakeholders for its use as an advocacy and resource mobilisation tool for sustainable forest management at the country level,’’ he said.

The participants of the two-day workshop were drawn from ministries of environment across the country as well as other relevant agencies.

  • FG identifies 2,778 Nigerians in Libya’s detention camps

FG identifies 2,778 Nigerians in Libya’s detention camps

The Federal Government says it has a record of 2,778 Nigerian migrants registered in “accessible” detention camps in Libya, ready for repatriation.

The Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement signed by the Spokesperson Mr Tiwatope Elias-Fatiile on Tuesday, said the country’s embassy in Libya had been visiting detention camps to identify Nigerians for registration.

The ministry stated that those registered were issued Emergency Travel Certificates.

The ministry also explained that the embassy in collaboration with the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) repatriates 250 migrants weekly and had returned 3,000 of them so far.

“From the 2,778 registered Nigerians who are still in detention camps, another set of 250 Nigerian migrants will be arriving today at Murtala Mohammed Airport, Lagos at 7.00.p.m. to be received by NEMA officials.

“The Embassy, in collaboration with the IOM repatriates 250 Nigerian migrants by flight to Lagos weekly – each flight can accommodate only 250 passengers.

“The repatriation is a continuous exercise and the Embassy routinely issues the requisite travel documents to the migrants.

“The Embassy will continue to engage the legitimate government in Libya and other stakeholders in addressing the plight of Nigerian migrants in that country.”

The Ministry further said that the Foreign Affairs Minister Geoffrey Onyeama had invited the Nigerian Embassy’s Head of Mission, Mr Iliya Fachano, to Abuja for consultations.

“He is in Abuja already and during the period of the consultations, arrangements have been made for him to address press conferences on the issue.

“This would afford the Nigerian public the opportunity to hear from him directly.”

The ministry, however, advised intending Nigerian travellers to “avoid Libya at this period, because of the dangers they may encounter in the process of their journey”.

The ministry also urged citizens to reach the Nigerian Embassy in Libya for assistance through these emergency numbers: +218910144487, +218925099384 and +218917953365.

“The contact email addresses for the embassy and the ministry are: nigeria@nigeriantripoli.org and help@foreignaffairs.gov.ng.

It said that the embassy had received requests for intervention from some relations of the victims based in Nigeria through these contacts.

While condemning the slave market in Libya, the ministry said it would engage the UN, African Union, European Union and other stakeholders to ensure that the perpetrators were brought to justice.

“It violates the fundamental human rights of the victims and it is unacceptable to the civilised world.”

He said that the Abia NAFDAC Office Surveillance Team got information from residents which resulted in the bursting of the sales of the expired and unregistered products in Aba and Umuahia.

Okeke said that some unscrupulous business men were bringing into the state unregistered and expired products to making quick money during the impending Christmas period and warned residents to be watchful.

“We have noticed that activities are heightening this Christmas season and NAFDAC has started feeling the heat.

“You know that during this period, unscrupulous businessmen like to bring into the state all kinds of goods and products including unregistered, substandard and spurious products and those whose expiry dates had been altered.

“This might be on the increase so we are alerting our citizens, especially those in Abia , to be watchful to ensure they are not taken unawares.

  • 2019 election results will be transmitted electronically – INEC

2019 election results will be transmitted electronically – INEC

The Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC ) said on Tuesday it has developed a technology that would enable it transmit election results electronically direct from polling units to the states’ headquarters.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Ebonyi, Prof. Godswill Obioma, disclosed this at a meeting with faith-based organizations in Abakaliki.

According to him, the new technology is part of efforts by the Commission to eliminate rigging, electoral frauds and other irregularities and to ensure the enthronement of credibility and transparency in the electoral process.

Obioma reassured the electorate that their votes would count in the 2019 general elections and urged them to participate in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration ( CVR ).

He said: “INEC is strengthening the process of transmitting election results electronically direct from polling booths to INEC headquarters.

“We hope that the latest technological innovation would be perfected and deployed in the 2019 general elections.

“The new strategy would discourage politicians from ballot box snatching, stuffing of ballot boxes and indulgence in other forms of electoral irregularities.

“The commission would do everything to ensure that votes count in 2019 and that those who would emerge do that through popular votes.

“We have only one message and the message is that you come out and register and ensure that you collect your PVC to qualify you to exercise your franchise.”

The REC explained that the meeting was part of conscious efforts by INEC to build strategic partnership and alliance that would be harnessed to mobilize the electorate.

“This meeting is aimed at jointly charting strategic paths for a credible 2019 elections and to see in what best ways we can partner with the organizations to reach out to their members.

“It is also to mobilize those who are 18 years and above to come out and register and collect their PVCs,” he added.

Obioma explained that making the electoral process more inclusive by getting more people involved in civic responsibilities would reduce political tension and those chosen in elections would be better accepted as representatives of the people.

He said that the commission had embarked on aggressive sensitisation and voter education since he resumed office as REC in Ebonyi on July 12.

“We have undertaken stakeholders’ town hall meetings in all the 13 local government areas of the state where we met with the people in their localities and sensitise them to the continuous voter registration.

“We followed the town hall meetings with the stakeholders’ village square meetings in the wards across the local government areas.

“We listened to their views on how we can do better in our programmes to achieve greater penetration in the society,” he said.

Reports say no fewer than 50 representatives of faith-based organisations, including Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria and Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs attended the meeting.

  • Unilag postpones candidates’ screening

    Unilag postpones candidates’ screening

Strike by non-academic staff of universities  has compelled the University of Lagos ( Unilag ) to postpone screening of Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination ( UTME ) candidates which was billed to start on Monday.

The screening, earlier scheduled to end on December 15, is for the 2017/2018 academic session.

In a statement signed in Lagos by Mrs Taiwo Oloyede, a Senior Assistant Registrar of the institution, Unilag said that the screening was postponed indefinitely.

It said that the strike disrupted academic and administrative activities in the university.

JAC began the strike also on Monday.

“The postponement is indefinite; a new date will be announced. “Candidates are enjoined to check the university’s website regularly for updates,” it said.

Reports say the strike was embarked on by the three non-academic labour unions in the university.

The unions are Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Universities ( SSANU ), Non Academic Staff Union of Universities and Associated Institutions (NASU) and National Association of Academic Technologists ( NAAT ).

The three unions downed tools under the aegis of the Joint Action Committee ( JAC ).

Read also: Buhari urges universities to justify governments’ investment

Meanwhile, the National President of SSANU, Mr Samson Ugwoke, said the strike was comprehensive, total and indefinite.

According to him, the strike resulted from Federal Government’s failure to take action on the September 20 Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) it signed with the unions.

“It is not just the issue of allowance that we are talking about but also the issue of implementation of a court judgment on our staff schools as well as the issue of acute shortfall in workers’ salaries.

“Most of our people were laid off unjustifiably; they are yet to be reinstated in the university’s payroll.

“We are tired of being tossed around or seen as not important in the running of the university. We are as important as any other union within the system and need to be given that recognition.

“After several negotiations with the government, we expected that it sees the need to honour whatever agreement reached, but the reverse is the case,” he said,’’ Ugwoke, also the Chairman of the JAC, said.

According to the union leader, activities in Nigerian public universities would be paralysed until JAC achieves its aim.

A former Chairman of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities ( SSANU ), Prince Oriwaye Adefolalu, said JAC would not call of the strike until its demands would were met.

“This morning, we had to shut the gate of the University of Lagos in compliance with a directive from our national executive committee.

“We are indeed not happy with what is going in our universities. We should be seen as a very critical component in the administration of the universities.

“While ASUU is in charge of research and academics, we are in charge of the administration, security, medical and general maintenance of infrastructure in the system.

“We should be treated fairly as there is no way the university can work perfectly without us.’’

  • 99 persons die in boat mishaps in Lagos, two others

99 persons die in boat mishaps in Lagos, two others

No fewer than 99 persons died in six  boat mishaps that occurred in Kebbi, Niger and Lagos States between April and September, according to a survey by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

The survey was conducted in Kebbi, Niger and Lagos States.

Two boat mishaps each were recorded on River Niger, Niger and Lagos State, within the period.

The survey also revealed that 47 people were rescued, while some unspecified number of persons got missing.

The worst of the mishaps was recorded in Kebbi on Sept. 14 when 53 persons , who were mostly traders ,lost their lives on River Niger.

It was gathered that the traders were among 100 persons going to Poll market  in Bagudo Local Government Area when the incident occurred.

However, 47 of the victims were lucky as they were rescued alive by divers.

The Chairman of the Bagudo Local Government, Alhaji Muhammad Zagga, who confirmed the incident said that about 500 divers were deployed to rescue the victims.

Also in Kebbi, seven persons had on April 15 died when the overloaded boat in which they were traveling on River Niger hit a tree trunk , forcing it to capsize.

The passengers believed to be about 150 were  returning from Malali market in Ngaski Local Government Area of the state.

In Niger, 30 persons died in two boat mishaps recorded in the state within the period.

The mishaps occurred on River Niger which passes through Borgu Local Government Area and River Kaduna which passes through Shiroro Local Government Area.

Alhaji Ibrahim Inga, the Director-General, Niger State Emergency Management Agency ( NSEMA) confirmed this to NAN.

In Lagos State, 9 persons died in two boat mishaps recorded on the lagoon between April and September.

The Lagos Area Manager of the National Inland Waterways Authority ( NIWA ), Mr Mua’zu Sambo, who confirmed this to NAN, said that one person got missing in one of the incidents.

Sambo described the figures so far, as an improvement when compared with 2016 when 26 deaths were recorded in five boat mishaps.

He also said the only way accidents could be reduced on Waterways was for users to comply strictly with safety guidelines from the organisation.

The Public Affairs Manager,  Mr Tayo Fadile, said users should stop sailing on the Waterways at night, saying that the law only permitted sailing between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Fadile advised operators not to take in passengers beyond the capacity of the boat.

According to him, a boat used for more than five years should be overhauled, while operators should refrain from taking drug or alcohol during boat ride.

He also emphasised the need for passengers to always put on life jacket before entering boat, while urging operators to properly register their boats with NIWA.

Fadile said NIWA would continue to engage users of Waterways during safety awareness campaigns.

He called for the support of the states, local governments,  law enforcement and security agencies in ensuring that boat operators adhered strictly to safety guidelines as stipulated by NIWA regulations.

Speaking in the same vein, Sambo, the NIWA  Lagos Area Manager, blamed boat mishaps on speeding, overloading, wrecks, night journey and disregard for safety rules by operators.

He expressed the need for a greater collaboration among stakeholders in the sector, saying that current use of life jackets, adherence to safety rules and proper regulation of activities would help.

On its part, the Lagos State Government said it would continue to clamp down on illegal jetties and unregistered boats to stem the tide of mishaps on waterways in the state.

The Managing Director of the Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA), Mr Oluwadamilola Emmanuel, who stated this, said that strict enforcement  of relevant laws would be enforced across the state.

“Government would stop at nothing to ensure that operators adhere to the safety standards.

“Being a developing sector, one of the things LASWA has to do is to be very strict on enforcement. Enforcement is  going to be an ongoing thing because you would constantly have those who are going to default,” he said.

According to him, the state government has been working round-the-clock to improve the sector for optimal performance and will not relent.

“The core objective of LASWA is to ensure that safety, being a key feature of water transportation is not compromised,” Emmanuel said.

Also speaking on the development, Mr Tarzan Balogun, National President, Association of Tourist Boat Operators Water Transporters of Nigeria (ATBOWATON), observed that mishaps on Waterways had reduced drastically in the country.

He attributed the development to the concerted efforts of the regulators and operators whom he said, had been insisting on proper use of life jackets by passengers.

The  Coordinator of  the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) in charge of Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara States, Alhaji Sulaiman Muhammad, said that the rescue of boat mishap victims in the zone had always been through combine efforts of stakeholders.

He identified the stakeholders to include fishermen, local divers, NIWA and  state governments.

Muhammadu Audu, a local diver in Birnin Kebbi, called for enforcement of life jacket on boat passengers to make rescue easy.

“Most of the passengers do not know how to swim, and when an accident happens, even if you know how to swim you get exhausted before getting out of the river.

Inga, the  Director-General of the NSEMA , told NAN that marine police, local divers and other  volunteers had been assisting in the rescue of boat mishap victims in Niger.

He blamed the high casualty recorded within the period on private boat operators whom he said had not been encouraging passengers to put on life jackets.

“Government has concluded arrangements to purchase life jackets that will be sold to people in the riverine areas at subsidised rates as part of measures to avert such mishaps.

“No operator will be allowed to carry passengers without protective jackets,” he said.

Inga said that majority of the boats and canoes operating in the state were owned by individuals, while the State Government had only two boats.

He said that efforts would be intensified to regulate and monitor activities of operators to reduce avoidable accidents on waterways in the state.

A boat passenger, Mrs Joy Chimezie, told NAN that mishaps would not stop her and others from traveling by boat.

Chiemeze, a civil servant resident in Lagos, said that traveling by boat was stress-free and cheap, thereby making it attractive to passengers.

“I pray never to be a victim of any accident but l urge fellow passengers to use their life jackets properly by fastening them well in case of any eventuality,” She said.

Another passenger,  Mr Cletus Abhareyi , said that the hectic traffic situation in Lagos would continue to make traveling by water inevitable for him and others.

The Chairman of the Association, Alhaji Abdulwaheed Tomori, made the appeal in an interview on Tuesday in Lagos.

According to him, deplorable state of roads in the country has been a major challenge confronting the association from carrying out its activities.

    Dear Friend,

My name is Mr. Patrick, I recently turned 45yrs old and I’m a Former Chronic Tinnitus and hearing lost Sufferer. I was struck with sudden hearing loss; I almost lost my hearing before I discovered a natural remedy which helped me and over 53 other people to get rid of hearing loss and tinnitus.

My personal battle with Tinnitus and Hearing loss started since I was 19yrs old. I went through a lot. Imagine a life without hearing very well… imagine a life of constant noise in the ear. I had trouble hearing the TV, could not understand phone conversations and was constantly saying “what, what”…. I was always asking people to repeat things, sometimes two and three times. Also for me, I was not able to tell where sound was coming from. When I heard a noise, I needed to look around the room to tell where it came from, or who was talking.

I went through depression and withdrew from the few friends i had left. Family and relatives didn’t want to talk to me on the phone because they knew I could not hear them well.

Social situations became next to impossible to function at. So, I avoided places where I knew I would not be able to hear. I made up excuses not to go out when invited for an event.

I spent thousands of Naira seeing doctors and trying alternative therapies that I was told would work. I was constantly tired of using hearing aid. After spending so much on therapy and hearing aid. I decided to research on possible natural remedy. I spoke to specialized doctors, read medical journals and interviewed 40 people with the same condition.

I found lots of different treatments. I tested over 20 different treatments that were supposed to help Tinnitus and improve my hearing. Unfortunately none worked for me.

I never wanted to use hearing aid again. I wanted to hear very well like other people do. I wanted to stop the Constant Ringing, Buzzing, Hissing, Beeping, Clicking, Pulsing or Whistling and Keep Them Away Forever.

To cut the long story short about all that I had gone through, I finally found a solution while on vacation to phoenix, USA with my wife (Chidera).

My Hearing came back and I was finally free from Tinnitus!

This didn’t happen overnight. My Wife told her friend there in the USA about my hearing problem. Soon before we left USA, my wife’s friend bought a product to stop tinnitus and improve hearing for me which I was taking 1 tablet in the morning and 1 in the evening for 90 days. Within This 90 days I started hearing sounds I could not hear before!  I told my wife about it and she was so happy. She called the friend and told her. My wife’s friend said she knew the product was all I needed to improve my hearing and stop tinnitus.

Fast forward today, I can engage in any conversation with no problem. In fact I annoy some people by calling them on the phone too much, something I totally avoided before.

What does this mean for me?

I now help people with this condition every day through this very page and my customers are thrilled with the results because I actually help them and I give them the product they need to go home and treat themselves.

This means they don’t have to keep coming back and paying me money (like you would have to do with a traditional doctor). They get the product once, and that’s all that’s needed.

If you have a ringing / buzzing / humming noise in your ears you may have Tinnitus. You should do something about it right away. As seen from my customers, not only can you get rid of the ringing in your ear but you will notice improvements in all aspects of your life.

Getting rid of Tinnitus means a better sleep, which means more energy and focus throughout the day. Not to mention you can finally get rid of the ringing noise in your ears.

How do I know? I get daily feedback from people just like you. Take a look below at just a few of the success stories I have received:

Success Story from Victor in Port Harcourt: “From working in a machine shop for many years I have really done some damage to my hearing, especially high frequency. Doctor told not much could be done, get a hearing aid. I refused. I came across your product and decided to try it, after all it was cheap enough compared to my doctor. I wanted to write you and say I am amazed at the results! Slowly but surely I can hear better than I have in years, I can really tell when listening to music. I hear thing I missed before. I highly recommend anyone suffering from hearing loss to give this a try. THANK YOU AGAIN.

Success Story from Emeka in Enugu: I am a BIG believer in natural healing and home remedies. after all, what did our ancestors used for medicine and healing? After a few weeks of using your product… I can already tell my hearing is getting much better. My wife Thank You! I do not have to blast the TV so loud anymore and she does not have to come into the living room to turn it down every 10 minutes lol. Thanks Mr Patrick… your product has successfully changed my life.

Success Story from Victoria in Lagos: “In less than 90 days the constant ringing has completely gone. I now live a normal life without the horrible ringing sounds that used to drive me crazy!; I was at the end of my wits with the constant ear ringing that I experienced for years. On the advice of my doctor, I started taking anti-depressant drugs that only worsened my ringing to an unbearable degree. I accidentally stumbled upon your website and I have found the product to be extremely helpful. In less than 90 days the constant ringing has completely gone. I now live a normal life without the horrible ringing sounds that used to drive me crazy. I had already recommended your product to my cousin in Abuja who also suffers from Tinnitus, and I have done so without reservation. Note that I have tried almost every method known to man prior to using your product but to no avail. Other product on the subject gave me no hope either. God bless you!”

Success Story from Mabel in Akwa Ibom: My Tinnitus had vanished. Gone in a matter of weeks. My hearing is also almost back to normal!; when I was first diagnosed with Tinnitus two years ago, I was devastated and confused. My audiologist insisted that I had to deal with it and that the hearing loss that accompanied the Tinnitus was not going to vanish. I could not accept that. Having read a recommendation about your product in an online forum, I had nothing to lose so I bought your product. I can honestly say that it has been so helpful to me that I feel like crying just talking about it. My Tinnitus had vanished. Gone in a matter of weeks. My hearing is also almost back to normal. Thank you for being my guardian angel. . God bless you!

Success Story from Steven in Abuja: “Now, 5 weeks later, it’s like a miracle. Tinnitus has completely vanished from my life! I almost gave up on finding any relief for the horrendous ringing in my ears, until I found your website. Before that I had taken an array of drugs including regular sessions with my psychiatrist but found no salvation for my agonizing problem. The sounds kept getting worse and worse especially in the mornings. As soon as I started using your product. I began to notice a difference. Now, 5 weeks later, it’s like a miracle. Tinnitus has completely vanished from my life… I want to scream at my doctor! Your Product is quiet expensive but it works like nothing else, and it’s been over for a year now! It’s absolutely miraculous… THANK YOU for restoring my sanity!”

So let me ask you, what have you done to try and cure Tinnitus?
You have probably searched the internet for hours, tried numerous remedies and eventually became fed up with it. You have probably even given up completely!

I’m telling you right now, it doesn’t have to be this way.
You do NOT have to live with Hearing Lost or Tinnitus!

I recently had this page created so that I could help people from all parts of the world, this includes you.

So are you ready to finally put an end to Tinnitus, stop the ringing and get the product you have been searching for?

The fact is most hearing loss sufferers can be helped. You can improve your hearing. Others have been helped from my findings and urged me to make this product available to everyone.

Of course this is not a miracle cure. If you have permanent damage to your ears or are completely deaf this product will not help you.

The clinics and specialists do not tell you about these natural healing product… there is just no money in it for them (at least that’s my opinion), with over 24 million people suffering from hearing loss, hearing aid companies and physicians make millions of naira per year.

    The Truth About Hearing Loss:

Damage to your inner ear from disease, blockage, noise or lack of nutrients will cause hearing loss. Poor blood flow, fluid from an infection and other factors can cause the tiny hair follicles in your inner ear to die.

The sad truth is most doctors will never know why your hearing went bad. In most cases they just can’t explain it.

Day by day the cells in your inner ear are dying, don’t wait until your hearing is gone forever.

    So my friend,

Someone that’s suffered partial or full loss of hearing can truly understand the impact it has on our lives. It’s natural to take perfect hearing for granted, but millions suffer moderate to complete hearing loss every year.

Whether it’s being unable to enjoy group conversations, having difficulty understanding the TV or just being unable to fully enjoy the time spent with your children or grandchildren, the problem is one that can’t be ignored and is usually serious enough to change how we live our daily lives.

Hearing loss can start off very mild and can be hard to notice at first, but tends to deteriorate rapidly if nothing has been done to prevent or slow it down.

Signs your hearing has been affected include:

    1. Difficulty following conversations in a noisy restaurant or crowded room
    2. Having difficulty understanding speech on the telephone or TV
    3. Frequently asking people to speak up or repeat themselves
    4. Feeling like people are mumbling or not speaking very clearly
    5. Difficulty understanding soft speech

Hearing Lost or Tinnitus Can Be Very Dangerous If Left Untreated.

Hearing loss is not just an ailment of old age. It can strike at any time and any age, even childhood. For the young, even a mild or moderate case of hearing loss could bring difficulty learning, developing speech and building the important interpersonal skills necessary to foster self-esteem and succeed in school and life.

Hearing Aid is Not What You NEED: They work by amplifying the sound rather than dealing with the cause of the problem, which in many cases is down to deterioration of the nerves or cells which process signals to your brain.

Rather than just work on making the sounds louder, Ginkgo Plus works to restore the natural functions that process the sound too, improving your understanding of what you hear as well as your hearing itself.

If you fail to notice any improvement in your hearing after using The Product, simply Ask for refund and we will gladly return your money while you keep the product. We are so confident about this product.

But before we delve deeper into how to get the product.

Two men jailed for phone theft

A Masaka Upper Area Court in Nasarawa State on Monday, sentenced two men to 16 months imprisonment each for stealing cell phone.

The convicts are Michael Onazi, 26 and Joseph Ali, 28.

The convicts, who live in Angwan Police area, Masaka, had pleaded guilty to a two-count charge of conspiracy and theft, but begged the Judge for mercy.

”We are sorry, please forgive us; we promise not to repeat such act again,” Onazi pleaded.

The Judge, Mr Yakubu Ishaku, sentenced the men, but gave each of them option of fine of N13, 000.

Ishaku said the punishment would serve as a lesson to anybody who would in the future, indulge in such act.

He also ordered the convicts to collectively pay compensation of N65, 000 to the nominal complainant and N20, 000 as expenses incurred during the prosecution.

Ishaku directed that the money should be paid within two weeks and held that in default of payment, the convicts would spend additional one year in prison.

Earlier, the Prosecutor, Mr Frank Swem, had told the court that the accused committed the offences on Nov. 22, 2017 at Masaka.

Swem said that one Usman Awudi, who resided in the same address as the accused, reported the matter at the Divisional Police Headquarters, Masaka.

He said that on the same day, at about 10 a.m., the complainant gave his daughter, Karlija, his cell phone to charge in their neighbour’s shop.

He said that Onazi overheard Awudi sending his daughter on the errand and alerted Ali, who stole the cell phone from the girl and immediately sold it.

The prosecutor said the offence contravened Sections 97 and 288 of the Penal Code.

  • Dejected Koeman yet to recover from Everton sacking

Dejected Koeman yet to recover from Everton sacking

Former Everton manager Ronald Koeman is yet to get over the disappointment of being sacked by the English Premier League club and has rejected multiple managerial offers since his dismissal.

Koeman was fired in October, after 16 months in charge of the Merseyside club, as significant transfer spending failed to inspire Everton.

The Merseyside club had dropped into the relegation zone after winning just two of their opening nine league games.

“I had started something at Everton and I really wanted to finish it in a good way. This is why my disappointment is bigger than ever before.

“I have to be realistic and I am not moaning about it,” the Dutchman said.

The 54-year-old was touted to take over at several vacant managerial roles at Premier League and European clubs, including West Bromwich Albion and West Ham United, but turned down the offers.

“I need to put those feelings of disappointment away first,’’ Koeman added. “This is the reason why I’ve not taken any of the offers — the offers were there immediately after leaving Everton.

“I had a few offers from the Premier League and a few more elsewhere in Europe.”

Everton have climbed to 10th in the standings under the guidance of interim boss David Unsworth and newly-appointed permanent manager Sam Allardyce.

They travel to fourth-placed Liverpool for the Merseyside derby on Sunday.
