‘Nigerians won’t regret electing Buhari in 2019’

Niger State Governor Abubakar Sani-Bello has said Nigerians will not regret electing President Muhammadu Buhari for a second term in 2019.

According to him, if President Buhari does not contest on 2019, the country will face economic challenges and may eventually fall back into recession.

Sani-Bello spoke when he received the people of his hometown, Kontagora, at the Government House in Minna.

He said the support declared by the All Progressives Congress (APC) governors was to ensure continuity and sustainability of Buhari’s good work of reviving the country from its economic woes and fighting corruption.

“If President Muhammadu Buhari does not contest in 2019, there will be problem in solving the enormous challenges facing the country because he is truthful, fair and just in administering the country.”

Bello, who urged Nigerians to support Buhari’s endorsement, said Nigeria would be greater under his administration.

He thanked the people for the visit and for calls for recontest, even as he assured them that ongoing projects in Kontagora and other parts of the state would be completed.

    Brief history of Leadway Incorporation

Leadway Assurance Company Limited was incorporated as a limited liability company in 1970 and started business operation in 1971.  The company’s business operation started  in Kaduna from where it spread to other parts of the federation.  At present, Leadway has over 24 Branch Offices with Kaduna serving as the Registered Office and Lagos, the Corporate Office.

    The Founder

The Founder, Sir (Dr.) Hassan Olusola Odukale’s vision was to build an insurance company that will serve the interest of insureds; responding to losses promptly and able to compete with other international insurers.  This vision was driven by a team that included some of its past chairman Alhaji Hassan Hadejia (immediate Past Chairman) Alhaji Mohammed Faruku and Pastor Jaiyeola Oni (former General Manager).

Sir (Dr) Hassan O. Odukale insurance business started as an agency representing the interests of Royal Exchange Assurance Nigeria in the northern part of Nigeria. It later transformed to Gaskiya Insurance Brokers before it was re-registered as Leadway Assurance Company Limited.  During this time, Sir Odukale knew little or nothing about the sector. However, by dint of hard work, confidence and honesty Sir Odukale and his partners were able to build a business that has successfully outlived them. The highly honoured insurance practitioner passed on in 1999.  He was a Fellow of Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (1995) and a Paul Harris Fellow.

    Business Operations

At the beginning, the company had to survive on the goodwill of many companies including Northern Nigerian Development Company (NNDC), which gave it rent relief and Bank of the North. The Founder, Sir. Odukale also mortgaged his house to raise the N50,000 statutory deposit to Central Bank of Nigeria, (CBN).

One of the major factors that kept Leadway afloat over the years was that Sir Odukale and his successors strategically, shifted the focus of the business from traditional motor and life business to achieve stability and phenomenon growth in other allied insurance businesses, even though motor and Life insurance still constitute a big chunk of its business.

In late seventies the company started operating in Lagos market. The big break from a traditional retail underwriting business to the big corporate underwriter came in the eighties when it started working with brokers. The big break for Leadway was in 1982, when a Broker gave the company the opportunity to participate in the underwriting of some marine insurance businesses. However, one of these policies resulted in a claim of about $1 million.  To the surprise of industry watchers, the claim was promptly paid up. The success of this claim opened a new vista of opportunities for Leadway and drastically changed its business operations as it was able to penetrate into corporate organisations and the lucrative Lagos market.

    Leadership Change

In 1994, there was a changed in the mantle of Leadership.  Mr. Oye Hassan- Odukale, became the MD/CEO and in less than 10 years, the company was repositioned to an enviable height through the discovery of other sources of investments outside the insurance sector. These includes investment in quoted government bonds, public and private companies.

    Financial

Following the wise investment strategies, the company has always witnessed a steady growth.  For instance, the Net Premium Written grew from  N2.4 billion in 2003 to N3.3 billion in 2004, N3.9 billion (2005) and N4.9 billion in 2006.  Likewise, Profits after Tax over the same period moved from N306 million to N520 million in 2006. The Assets Base also witnessed a tremendous growth. From the N5.9 billion mark in 2003 to N16.4 billion in 2006. The company in the 2016 financial year paid N23.06 billion claims to Nigerians.

    Recapitalisation

The company’s recapitalisation exercise did not impose any major threat to the company.  As at 31st December 2006, the company’s Shareholders’ funds was N9.4 billion.  This amount was internally generated through shareholders. The company’s attraction as a good investment was not limited to Nigerians, as International Finance Corporation (IFC) is currently an institutional investor ($13.2 million) in the company. As at 31st December 2012, shareholders fund stands at N11.7billion.

  • ‘Most Nigerians ignorant of vehicle tracking devices’

‘Gbemi Oyeneyin is Managing Director/CEO, ISN Telematics Limited as well as National President, Telematics Association of Nigeria (ATON), an umbrella body for fleet management, data monitoring and assets tracking. In this interview with Ibrahim Apekhade Yusuf he speaks on the challenges and prospects of the tracking industry amongst others. Excerpts:

What is the potential of the telematics ecosystem in Nigeria? Not much is known about this organisation you lead.

I became the National President of Telematic Association of Nigeria (ATON) in December 2014. That came about because the Association required branding and then the network supervising ministry, which is the Ministry of Communications and of course, the Federal ministry of communications wanted an organised body because there were too many tracking companies without portfolios operating in the country then, without integrity, standard and all that. And so we had to start serious campaign, mobilisation and we got the NCC involved in helping to setting some standards. They actually went round to close down some Companies that were not registered because for any member of ATON, you must be registered with the NCC. And that takes a whole lot of scrutiny, security checks from the SSS, who will run a check of the companies’ directors, to ensure the people on the team are not fraudulent people and all that. You also require all registration with the CAC documents, audited accounts have to be up to date.

For us, it took us a year and half to be dully registered to show you how tedious the process was so that at least there could be standards. As at today we’ve about 50plus licensed tracking companies that are members. Since then we’ve been maintained standards aimed at sanitising the industry. Today if you’re looking for genuine and standard tracking company, you know where to go.

As at today there’s no insurance company can engage the services of any unregistered tracking company. The NCC in collaboration with NAICOM had to mandate all the insurance companies that they’ll be penalised if they deal with touts.

The tracking companies is still an emerging industry in the country compared to other countries,

Global market share and where does Nigeria fits?

What affects tracking companies equally affect insurance, especially in this part of the world. Our own attitude here is that it’s only people that have money that either insures or install tracking devices in their vehicles. A lot of people fail to realise that tracking is a form of insecurity. When we started few years ago, most people didn’t even believe that it could work. But at the end of the day, when people saw that their vehicles are being recovered, they began to have a change of mind about the possibilities, with success stories about recovery in Cotonou, Benin Republic and all that. But as at today, I know that we’ve not covered 20% of the market.

People still believe that when they buy a new car, they will take it to their pastors and Alfa’s to pray for them and all that, so that nobody will steal it.(laughs).

Nobody ever prays for incidents but when it happens they all turn jelly. I get sms, where people would say, oh, someone’s vehicle has been stolen and all that. Of course, the first question I normally ask is if the vehicle has a tracker. Once they tell me know, l normally ask them how do we perform magic to bring back such a car.

Our work really helps the police a lot. Like a vehicle we recovered from hoodlums in December, right from the control room in Lagos here, we were able to track the vehicles’ location and within one hour the vehicle we recovered. So it’s when things happened that people tend to be careful and vice versa.

And that’s why we are still carrying out more enlightenment campaigns to encourage people. With the kind of mind-set that we have, there’s need for a lot of education. Of course, tracking devices have witnessed lots of revolution lately. The new devices now have apps that can help you to track fuel consumption, monitoring and surveillance, and all that. For those in transport businesses, tracking is absolutely necessary. We have a lot of cab companies which require everyone on their platforms, particularly franchise drivers to have trackers in their vehicles. It’s a most for them. Those in haulage business too must have trackers. For some businesses, especially haulage, having trackers in their vehicles is very crucial. With the device that we have now, you can even monitor fuel consumption easily right from your palmtops.  It’s all value added services, for saving cost. I was coming to work one day, I saw a driver in a posh vehicle parking by the bus stop to pick passengers just because of the N200-500 he wants to make. If one day the driver picks armed robbers have passengers what do you think will happen to that car? These are possibilities.

Technology for some of these things are alien to us even though we are trying to take charge. In the past there have been cases of tracking devices in vehicles being demobilised. That’s one of the fears being expressed by many today. Are the tracking companies in Nigeria on top of their game?

It’s because of stories like these that the Association came in to sanitise the business. It’s not just about installing a device. The question is what kind of device? How durable is the device? How effective is the device? Because there are so many inferior devices from the Middle East and all, very cheap ones. Nigerians don’t know that when it’s cheap, it’s for monkeys. If you want a device that’s going to be okay for you, it has to be certified by relevant agencies, meet some standard international specifications and all that.

For ISN Telematics, we work for the best insurance companies, amongst other big businesses so we can’t just use any device. Another reason is connivance because we’ve also had situations series of cases where the driver knew there was tracker in the vehicle and when he was sent somewhere, he used the opportunity to branch at a rewirers shop and search for the devices and had it disconnected. So what we do now is that there’s a time bomb alert that if power goes off from the device, it’s going to alert us straight. It’s called power tamper alarm. Once power goes off, it’s going to keep buzzing until somebody attends to it from the backend.

That’s what we have done. Once this happens, there’s going to be a report of the time, location, date that the power went on.

Even for investigative purposes those are the reports sent to the police.

The third thing is that time is of the essence in tracking a vehicle.

To enhance efficiency, clients are given access themselves using apps installed on their phones to do a lot of things. Even if there’s a theft, the moment they drop you off the vehicle whether they take your phones or not, as long as you know the code and the secret device number for you to have access, the device you dial it, it’ll ring twice and send you location report on the Google maps. As long as you know your device ID, anybody can dial it on any network.

These days it’s easier for us to communicate with the police nationwide. In those days, there were instances where vehicle is stolen in Onitsha along a particular location with descriptions and all that, but for weeks they’ll be looking for the vehicle still or sometime they don’t have fuel in their vehicles and all. But all that has changed as there a lot of improvement as far as our relationship with the police is concerned.

What’s your level of collaboration with Interpol?

Yes we work with the Interpol and that’s the standard. We have recovered vehicles from Cameroun, Benin and all that. As long as there’s network coverage it’s possible with the use of international sim cards because we realised that once they snatch any vehicle they’re going outside the borders. If they take your vehicle from part of the south west, you can be sure that the destination would be Cotonuo. And if it’s in south-east , it’s going to be Cameroun. That’s why we resorted to the use of international sim cards to help with monitoring and tracking outside our shores.

Level of support from the Interpol?

    It’s been superb.

    What of response time?

You know the GSM has also made communication very easy because even today police have whazapp numbers where you can send pictures, maps, abd all that. Communication has made recovery easy. In those days we had to carry a navigator almost everywhere just to be able to track a missing vehicle. It was very cumbersome.

But today, with Google maps, all that is a piece of cake. It’ll just guide you to the place from the comfort of your office or home.

Do Nigerians have the expertise to track companies? What’s required?

The first thing is, you must be licensed by the NCC. The basic requirement of course is that you must register a limited liability company with a minimum of 10million share capital with directors, bank accounts.

You must have an audited account. It cost over a million naira to complete registration.

If you have to set up your own sever, it’s also comes with a lot of cost.

In terms of skills, we have local expertise.

Besides, you must have a minimum N10million indemnity bond with an insurance company.

What’s the value of the Telematics industry in Nigeria in terms of how much you can generate by way of revenue?

We have over 6,000 vehicles being managed by us alone. So even if you multiply that by an average of say N5million, as an average of the 6,000, you’re talking about N30billion from ISN Telematics alone. It’s huge. But people don’t realise that our work is so important. If one company alone can manage N30billion worth of assets, it’s not easy because we’ve been in business for over 10 years. Multiply that by say another 50 licensed tracking companies, that’s huge because we’re talking about almost N1.5trillion.

In terms of institutional support, how has it been?

Like I said earlier, the NCC in 2014, helped to stop the unlicensed tracking companies from operating. That is why as at today, there’s no insurance company that would work with any unlicensed tracking company. It’s all due to the support from the NCC and NAICOM. The main problem now is with companies outside insurance.

We’re really enjoying anything much from the government anymore in terms of policy support and all that. Beyond what the NCC and NAICOM did two years ago, we still require a lot of support.

My government is working to reduce unemployment- Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari, Saturday assured Nigerians that his government was working hard to reduce the rate of unemployment in the country.

Buhari, who was represented by Deputy Executive Secretary, National Universities Commission (NUC), Prof. Chinedu Mafiano,  spoke at the 22nd convocation ceremony of the university of Abuja on Saturday.

The General Superintendent, Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor William Kumuyi was awarded an Honourable doctorate degree along with the late Ahmadu Bello University’s historian, Dr. Yusuf Bala Usman and Alhj. Dikko Aliyu, for their contributions to nation building.

Kumuyi ( Doctor of Science) Usman (Doctor of Letters) and Aliyu (Doctor of management) joined 7,148 graduands to receive their degrees at the university’s main campus. Felix Jimoh emerged best overall graduating student.

A breakdown of the figures showed that 16 students bagged first class, 507 second class upper division, 3,143 second class lower division, 3,160 third class and 180 students had pass degrees.

President Buhari said: “My government is working hard to reduce the unemployment rates through several programmes and initiatives including the N-power, agriculture, small and medium scale businesses (SMEs), all of which are supported by government guaranteed loan scheme. I encourage you all to key into any of them for national growth and development.

“Government will devote attention to technical and vocational educational training to impact the necessary skills to our youths in a bid to provide the requisite, competent and reliant personnel that can sustain the nation’s economic activities for the required socio-economic transformation.”

He charged Nigerian universities to continue to partner governments at all levels in order to build a thriving economy.

“The Nigerian university system must continue to be partners in progress with governments at all levels. My administration recognizes that interdependency and professionals are the drivers of a thriving economy.

“If we must keep up with this global trend, education must be given its right place. My government is determined to continue to improve access to quality in our educational system.

“Consequently, infrastructure, teachers development, curriculum relevance, funding and planning will continue to receive a boost with the resolve that they will facilitate the desired change in sociology-economic, political, and technological sectors,” Buhari added.

Pastor Kumuyi, in his address, said the awardees would continue to contribute their quota to the development of the university.

He charged the graduating students to use the knowledge they have acquired to help transform the country into a global economic power.

He said: “Nigeria has many opportunities despite the challenges we face as a nation today. You must be determined to use the knowledge that you have gained at this university to help transform our nation into the global economic powerhouse that it is destined to be.

“All hands should be joined together to provide lacking structures and indispensable facilities required for academic excellence. We must focus on our vision and have faith. With our belief, ambition, determination and the fear of God, we can make university of Abuja better,” Kumuyi, said.

Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Michael Adikwu, noted that there had been much improvement in the activities of the university as seen in staff training and development of infrastructures.

‘No jobs for Nigerians in China’

Consul-General of Nigeria in Guangzhou, China, Mr. Wale Oloko has admonished young Nigerians aspiring to travel to China for employment purposes to look elsewhere.

Oloko told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos that it had been and would continue to be difficult for unskilled Nigerians to secure even menial jobs in China.

The consul-general, however, said it was only “exceptionally skilled’’ Nigerians in artificial intelligence, Information Technology and other areas that could be considered for employment in China.

“Nigerians wanting to travel to travel to China for employment must appreciate the fact that China currently has a population of about 1.4 billion people.

“And the Chinese government has to first be able to provide employment for the Chinese.

“And besides that, there is the language barrier for Nigerians wanting to get employment in China to contend with.

“Let me, therefore, say that there are not many employment opportunities for Nigerians or other foreigners, who want to travel to any part of China to do menial jobs,’’ he said.

Oloko, who was visiting Nigeria so as to strengthen China and Nigeria relations, said China was presently favourable to Nigerians who would be visiting for studies, tourism and business purposes.

He said the over 70, 000 Nigerians that travelled to the Guangdong Province in 2016, had visited the Chinese province for business, tourism, education and healthcare issues.

The bilateral relations between Nigeria and the People’s Republic of China have expanded on growing bilateral trade and strategic cooperation.

China is considered one of Nigeria’s closest allies and partners. China is also one of Nigeria’s important trading and export partners, with trade relations hitting the 2.7 billion dollar mark in 2017.

  • 2019 poll: Obasanjo cannot dictate to Nigerians, says ex-Nasarawa Governor

2019 poll: Obasanjo cannot dictate to Nigerians, says ex-Nasarawa Governor

A former Governor of Nasarawa State, Sen. Abdullahi Adamu Monday said ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo cannot dictate to Nigerians on who to vote for 2019.

He also described Obasanjo’s Coalition for Nigeria Movement as a red herring which cannot influence the outcome of the next election.

He said Obasanjo’s letter to President Muhammadu Buhari was in bad taste.

He said if care was not taken, the ex-President may soon descend into a national nuisance and become irrelevant.

He said if Buhari had not been selective in his anti-corruption campaign, Obasanjo should have been on trial by now.

Adamu, who made his views known at a briefing in Abuja, said Buhari does “not intend to leave a bleeding, disunited nation and disarticulated socio-economic development at the end of his tenure.”

He said: “…Let me say at this point that I am worried by the antics of Obasanjo and his penchant for promoting himself as the only competent Nigerian leader.

“Since he left office on October 1, 1979, to local and international applause Obasanjo has systematically sought to undermine every federal administration after him. He has today set up himself as the moral conscience of the nation. He believes he has acquired the wisdom of King Solomon and has consequently imposed on himself the right to decide who rules us and how we should be ruled.

“Perhaps, part of the reason is that before leaving office in 2007, his party, the PDP, conferred on him the titles of Maker of Modern Nigeria and Father of the Nation. Such titles do have a heady way of making a man seeing his head bedecked in the halos of self-righteousness.

“There is a process for changing our governments through the instrumentality of elections. Chief Obasanjo, one of the architects of that process and a beneficiary to boot, ought to support that process and let the people decide who they want to rule them. It is not for him to decide for the people or the president.

“No one should arrogate to himself eternal verities in the administration of his country. It is his consuming ambition to have his hands on the levers of power under all our presidents. When he loses that grip, he turns against the incumbent in office.

“He undermined General Babangida’s economic programme, SAP, with his statement that the Structural Adjustment Programme (SAP) should have a human face and the milk of human kindness. He denigrated General Babangida by advising people to whom the former president says good morning to check their wrist watches to make sure it is morning.

“Was he entirely motivated by that noble sentiment? I find that hard to believe. Motives are not always as honourable or as altruistic as one might be made to believe, particularly when such a man as this is so highly placed that we tend to place him above the shenanigans of petty politics. I find it difficult to  completely ignore what appear to me like the dark motives hovering over his action because I see it as a behavioural pattern that began with his 2014 letter to the then President Goodluck Jonathan, titled “ Before it is too late.”

“It seems to me he believes that that letter alone cost Jonathan the presidency. So, if he is fatigued by President Buhari, he can resort to the same weapon with probably the same consequences. It is a long shot.”

The ex-governor insisted that the Coalition for Nigeria Movement (CNM) recently inaugurated by Obasanjo to effect change in 2019 cannot achieve any result.

He said: “His Coalition for Nigeria is a red herring across the path of our constitutional government.”

“He is free to form a political party and pursue his ambition of being the power behind the throne but such a national movement would achieve no discernible purpose in the economic management and the social administration of the country.”

The ex-governor however described Obasanjo’s letter to President Muhammadu Buhari as in bad taste to destroy the President politically.

He said the ex-President ought to have been more circumspect and measured in his approach like the former presidents.

He added: “No one can deny him the right to criticize a sitting president but his method leaves much to be desired. He cannot, therefore, escape the charge of impure motive and that he took this step, not to try and Set things right for the sake of the nation but to promote Obasanjo for the sake of Obasanjo.

“Being a former president, he has an unimpeded access to the president and can, therefore, seek to influence him in the privacy of the seat of power. Indeed, in the early years of the Buhari administration, Chief Obasanjo was a frequent presence in Aso Rock.

“I believe he frequented the seat of power in support Of the administration. I now wonder why he suddenly decided to turn a friend into an enemy and rubbish everything the president has done so far in a little over two and half years.

“In a civilized political culture, it is taboo for former presidents to openly take a sitting president to the cleaners. Our former head of state, General Yakubu Gowon, has faithfully kept to this time-honoured culture of a former ruler not washing the dirty linens of a current ruler rather gleefully in the public. So have former President Shehu Shagari and former head of state, General Abdulsalami Abubakar.

“The implications for the polity of a former president regaling the public with a litany of the failures of a sitting president is a calculated and unholy effort to destroy him politically.
“The question is, if Chief Obasanjo meant well for Buhari, his administration and Nigeria, why did he not choose the option of quietly offering his advice to the president?

“In taking his case to the rowdy market place of sensationalism, he clearly intended to score cheap political points at the expense of the president. He intended to undermine the Buhari administration, subject the president to public ridicule and impugn his moral strength and integrity to lead the nation.

“As he must have obviously expected, his statement was intended to heat and is heating up the polity and causing confusion at this critical time when the myriads of our national challenges commend themselves to our statesmen and women for sober reflections rather than indulgence in crass sensationalism. It is a disservice to the country.’

Adamu said Buhari has no plan to leave a bleeding, disunited nation and disarticulated socio-economic development at the end of his tenure.

Although he said the President might have been overwhelmed by the problems at hand, Nigerians should encourage and support him.

He said: “No one, not even Buhari’s most rabid supporters, would be unfair to themselves enough to suggest that everything is right with the administration. It is true that the government has not met the expectations of the generality of Nigerians. But it is not for lack of capacity or the unwillingness on the part of the president to respond to the needs of the people and those of the country.

“I know that we invested high expectations on the Buhari administration but is it fair and realistic for us to expect the administration to solve all the problems it inherited in less than three years? Human and resources management towards achieving a desired result is not amenable to the waving of a magic wand.

“No administration is a total success and none is a total failure. Chief Obasanjo cannot honestly claim that he ran a perfect and totally successful administration. Because he did not.

“Every administration grapples with problems thrown at it by circumstances beyond its control. President Buhari inherited an economy that was unsteady on its feet. He also inherited the security problems such as Boko Haram, armed robberies and kidnappings. Yes, I agree, that under his watch these problems should grow less, not more. But the solution to problems such as these is a slow and agonizing process. He has no powers to simply make them disappear overnight.

“The president was fully aware of these problems and challenges when he sought the consent of the electorate in 2015. He did so in the hope that with the support and the goodwill of all Nigerians, he could tackle them. I know he has not given up on that.

“1 do not think he intends to leave a bleeding, disunited nation and disarticulated socio-economic development at the end of his tenure. He seems to be overwhelmed by the problems because while problems rain down, solutions to them take time to be effective.

“I think the president, in the circumstances, deserves support and encouragement rather than antagonism from a constituency that should give him that support and encouragement as he seeks to address these and other problems in his own way.”

He said if Buhari had not been selective in his anti-graft war, Obasanjo should by now be on trial over his Third Term Project, Halliburton and Siemens scandals.

Adamu said: “Obasanjo said that President Buhari is selective in his anti-corruption war. I agree with him because if the president were not selective, Chief Obasanjo himself would be in the dock today on trial on charges of corruption arising from the corrupt practices in the pursuit of his third term gambit in the national n assembly in 2006.

“Today he denies that he ever nursed such ambition. And being a man much favoured God, he has repeatedly said that if he had wanted it and asked the almighty for it, he would have given him the third term.

“He knows as well as I and other leading members of the PDP that he badly wanted it and initiated the process of constitutional amendment. He bribed each member of the national assembly who signed to support the amendment, with the whopping sum of N50 million to make the constitutional amendment scale through.”

“The fresh, mint money was taken in its original boxes presumably from the vaults of the Central Bank of Nigeria and distributed among the legislators. The money was not his and it was not appropriated by the national assembly as required by law. I, therefore, agree that in failing to make former president account for that money. President Buhari is waging his anti-corruption war selectively.

“Nor should we forget that President Buhari has also not bothered to interrogate Obasanjo’s role in the Halliburton scandal for which some Americans are cooling their heels in jail.

“Perhaps, President Buhari might null to look in the Siemens affairs in which the Obasanjo administration was indicted and for which can: hug-mans were on trial. What became of the trial?
Adamu asked Obasanjo to retrace his steps before becoming a national nuisance and sliding into irrelevance.

“I believe that Obasanjo is too high and too big in the estimation of the people to permit himself the continued sickening indulgence in political skullduggery. I believe that the Nigerian people and the Nigerian state have been most kind to him.

“Obasanjo has a moral obligation to make the country succeed in solving its myriads of problems. That, I believe, is one way he can give back to the country that has given him so much.

“As a friend, I wish to advise the former president to pull back from the dangerous path of rubbishing all presidents that came into office after him.

“Bringing everyone down is not a patriotic duty. I fear that if he continues along this path, he would, sooner than later over reach him and begin the inevitable descent into national nuisance and irrelevance. That would be ‘a self-inflicted wound and a personal tragedy,” he said.
