Several youth groups have commended President Bola Tinubu for appointing Dr. Sanusi Turaki, former Director-General of the Zamfara State Emergency Management Agency, as the Director of Finance and Supply for the North-West Development Commission (NWDC).
According to the groups, Turaki’s nomination has sparked widespread jubilation, particularly among young people who see it as a strategic move to enhance the economic and infrastructural growth of the North-West region.
They expressed optimism that his appointment will drive positive change, create employment opportunities, support businesses, and improve the standard of living in the region.
The groups believe that with a competent and visionary leader like Turaki, the NWDC will effectively fulfill its mandate and set a new standard for regional development in Nigeria.

The Convener of The Progressive Intellects (TPI), a youth-oriented political and professional body, Comr. Saheed Akanmu, urged Turaki, a financial expert, to harness the skills, energy, and professionalism of young Nigerians in executing his responsibilities.
Akanmu stated: “Dr. Sanusi Bala Turaki’s commitment to progress and innovation is well known. His leadership at Hafmoh Energy and his role in emergency management have demonstrated his ability to drive impactful initiatives.
“We are confident that his tenure at the NWDC will usher in a new era of development and empowerment for our people.”
Also, the leader of Arewa Youths Assembly for Good Leadership, Amb. Abdul Bature said that Dr. Turaki is not just an administrator but a visionary who will steer the financial operations of the NWDC toward impactful initiatives.
He said: “His dedication to youth empowerment and regional development assures us that the North- West is in capable hands. We are confident that he will bring his wealth of experience to bear in his new role and contribute significantly to the growth and progress of the North-West region.”
Dr. Turaki is a seasoned entrepreneur, philanthropist, and financial expert, and has been instrumental in championing initiatives that alleviate economic hardship and promote prosperity and social inclusion, like the construction of classroom blocks, boreholes, mosques and Islamic schools.
His tenure as the Director-General of the Zamfara State Emergency Management Agency showcased his dedication to crisis management and humanitarian relief, earning him accolades from various quarters.
His combination of corporate experience and public service record positions him as a dynamic force in addressing the developmental challenges of the North-West region.
He awarded full scholarships to 33 students at the Federal College of Education (Technical) in Gusau, covering their registration fees, accommodation, reading materials, and monthly allowances.
He also provided scholarships to 130 students at the Federal University Gusau, helping to alleviate the economic challenges faced by students.
