The left-footed footballer has shattered all football records in the school, including scoring eye-catching free kicks.

The free kick wizardry of the lanky 200 Level Banking and Finance undergraduate has catapulted him into the highest goal scorer in the competition history.

He helps his team builds attack from the back.

Live stream of the final match is provided by Bspot, the sport marketing and talent management firm.

Head, Activation and Partnership of Bspot, Babatunde Amusa, said: “We consider it a privilege and we shall pursue our mission with a mindset of unwritten social contract to deliver a platform for limitless possibilities for youths across our higher institutions and of course the society within which we operate.”

  • Sex video tape played in Lagos court

Proceedings in an Ikeja High Court took an unusual dimension on Monday when an excerpt of a sex video tape between a married father of three and his ex-lover was played in the courtroom.

The father of three, Peter Omokaro, is an ex-banker, while his ex-lover, Titilayo Nosa-Igiebor, is a businesswoman.

Omokaro who is in his early 60s had sued Nosa-Igiebor,  33, over her non-payment of an alleged N15 million loan he gave her during their relationship.

The tape was played when Mr Victor Okpara, counsel to Nosa-Igiebor, led her in evidence.

The video which played for more than an hour showed Omokaro and Nosa-Igiebor lying in bed in a hotel room, agreeing to the terms of the `loan’ before engaging in sexual intercourse.

Omokaro could be heard in the video, before signing the agreement, saying: “I hope I am not signing my death warrant.”

He was also heard telling Nosa-Igiebor that he had no intention of getting the loan back.

The defendant’s counsel tendered a copy of the loan agreement in evidence.

The counsel told the court that Clause Five of the agreement exempted Nosa-Igiebor from repaying the alleged loan

Clause Five of the agreement, which pertains to waiver of rights, states: “Peter forever waives all rights to loan payback, forfeiting totally loan given if Titilayo agrees to and has sexual intercourse with Peter.”

Earlier in her evidence, the defendant told the court that Omokaro never gave her the N15 million although he promised to give her without collecting it back.

The businesswoman testified that Omokaro became vindictive after their relationship turned sour.

She told the court that the ex-banker intended to punish her for the soured relationship by taking her to court.

While being cross-examined by Mr Jerry Omoregbe, counsel to Omokaro, the defendant testified that besides being Omokaro’s lover, she had a business relationship with him through her company, Tilimanjaro Nig. Ltd. and Nichole Integrated Ltd. (Omokaro’s company).

“Tilimanjaro was my first company. I had no prior experience; I was still setting up at the time. I went to meet Peter, my boyfriend at the time, to assist me in giving my brother, Ahmed, money for aviation school.

“Peter, my boyfriend, said that he would give me the money as a gift and that we should draft an agreement so that my brother could see that it was serious and take his schooling serious.

“He invited me to the hotel as shown in the video. He agreed that I should make the agreement, and I drafted the agreement in my letterhead. The agreement was between Peter Imafidon Omokaro and Titilayo Nosa-Igiebor.

“The friendly loan was never given to me. That agreement was signed on May 15, 2011, which was a Tuesday. He said he would pay the money into my brother’s account on Thursday but he never did,” she said.

Justice Raliatu Adebiyi adjourned the case until Feb. 20, 2019, for adoption of written addresses.

Omokaro had accused Nosa-Igiebor of stealing his Toyota Venza 2010 model with registration number CT370FKJ valued at N2 million as well as N106 million.

Nosa-Igiebor was initially arraigned before an Igbosere Magistrates’ Court in Lagos in April 2012 and remanded at the Kirikiri Prisons following her failure to meet her bail conditions.

The former lovers later agreed to settle their dispute out of court, with Nosa-Igiebor returning the car and other property given to her by Omokaro during their relationship.

However, Omokaro instituted a civil suit against Nosa-Igiebor before an Ikeja High Court following her failure to refund the alleged N15 million loan.

He had submitted that he gave the defendant the loan as a business partner and not a lover.

The ex-banker also told the court that the loan was not a gift but  meant to be paid back.

No emotions, sentiments in team selection – Keshi

Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi, has revealed that he had to “take away emotions” before selecting his 23-man squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

Keshi dropped seven players from his final squad and revealed that it was not an easy decision.

“It’s always tough when you have a relationship going on with your players. I had to take away emotions. You have been together with the players for several weeks and some have to go, it’s tough,” supersport.com quoted Keshi as saying to journalists in the team’s training camp in Pennsylvania.

The Nigeria trainer eventually dropped Daniel Akpeyi, Sunday Mba, Nnamdi Oduamadi, Nosa Igiebor, Joel Obi, Obinna Nsofor and Ejike Uzoenyi from his World Cup squad and revealed that he “removed sentiments” before arriving at his decision.

“You can’t bring emotions into this. I removed sentiments from this because I knew I had to be pure in my selection.

“I was realistic and knew I had to do what I had to do. It’s not about me; it’s not even about Nigeria but about Africa because we are flying the flag of the continent in Brazil.

“It’s a shame that I could not take the 30 of them (named in the provisional squad to Brazil) because if I could, I would have done it but some had to go,” he said.

Nigeria begins its World Cup campaign against Iran at Arena da Baixada, Curitiba on June 16.

The Super Eagles will then face Bosnia-Herzegovina at Arena Pantanal, Cuiabá on June 21 before rounding off the preliminary campaign against Argentina at Estádio Beira-Rio, Porto Alegre on June 25.

Granada vs Real Betis: BEWARE OF ERRORS

    • Betis coach warns Igiebor, mates

Real Betis manager Gabriel Calderón has charged Super Eagles midfielder, Nosa Igiebor and mates to beware of errors in today’s La Liga tie at Nuevo Los Cármenes when they face Odion Ighalo’s Granada in a Andaluz derby at lunchtime.

Calderón also made it clear that a victory against Granada will be even more valuable than just the points in play for his team.

“The game on Sunday (today) is a six-pointer, because each game we have less margin for error, but trying to make calculations without winning the next game, serves no purpose,” he said.

Accepting that the players are frustrated with last week’s heavy defeat away at Valencia, Calderón still remains positive about the level of effort they are offering.

“The team feels wounded. In the situation we’re in, all the players are hurting and we need consistency to gain a balance and confidence. Despite the defeat at Valencia, the players are all aware that this game is a six-pointer. Forgetting the poor fifteen minutes and the game against Valencia, I’m happy with the work of the team.”

A full house is expected at Nuevo Los Cármenes, as Granada and their fans also see the game against Betis as a key encounter in their season. Calderón isn’t concerned about the strong home support, just that his players remain enthusiastic and determined to get the points.

“We have experience and know what it’s like to play at a full stadium, that doesn’t worry us. The players are keener than anyone to win this game. What concerns us most is being a solid block.”

Having secured a good victory against Espanyol with a five-man back-line, Calderón was asked if that’s something he’ll repeat against Granada toay.

“This week we’ve been working hard to achieve the balance we had against Espanyol. That doesn’t come from playing four or five defenders. It’s about having a solid block that can’t be taken apart so easily, that’s what matters. The details aren’t as important as the block.”

Next week sees the return of Europa League action for Real Betis, with a tough challenge against Russian outfit Rubin Kazan, though the preference of Calderón is to forget about that for the moment, with victory at Granada the first priority.

“Right now, all we’re focused on is what happens in Granada, which comes above anything else. That game will come later and we have to win each game. We cannot downplay the importance of it and we have to win,” he added.

Igiebor out of Ethiopia tie, undergoes surgery

Nosa Igiebor has ruled himself out of Nigeria’s World Cup playoff with Ethiopia and will now undergo surgery for a groin problem.

The Real Betis midfielder, who missed this weekend’s La Liga match against Barcelona, will undergo an operation this week, according to his club’s official website.

Igiebor at the weekend suffered a relapse of a groin injury he sustained last week while training with his team.

The player, who last week returned to training with his club, told MTNFootball.com he is disappointed he will not be part of the team to face Ethiopia in Calabar on Saturday.

“It’s really sad, I was happy returning from the minor groin but for a relapse,” he said.

“I really wanted to be a part of history this weekend when we qualify for the World Cup, but I trust that my colleagues would get the job done this weekend.”

Team officials had earlier expressed doubts over his availability for Saturday’s clash.

  • Super Eagles, Supporters return from Ethiopia

The Super Eagles on Monday arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, after securing a 2-1 victory over the Walya Antelopes of Ethiopia, in a World Cup qualifying play-off in Addis Ababa.

The match, played at the Addis Ababa National Stadium on Sunday, saw Emmanuel Emenike scoring twice for the Eagles to silence the hosts who took the lead in the 57th minute.

23 Super Eagles players arrived in Abuja aboard a chartered Boeing 777 Ethiopian Airliner at exactly 4.30am together with four coaches and eight backroom staff.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Executive Committee members of the Nigeria Football Association (NFA), led by its Chairman, Alhaji Aminu Maigari, accompanied the team back home.

Some National Assembly members, including the Senate Committee Chairman on Sports, Adamu Gumba, and his House of Representatives counterpart, Godfrey Gaiya, were in the entourage that arrived with the team.

Others were officials of the National Sports Commission (NSC), the Nigeria Football and Other Sports Supporters Club, as well as the management and secretariat staff of the NFA

Media representatives were also in the 263-member Nigerian delegation that made the trip to Ethiopia.

NAN also reports that most of the foreign-based players connected flights immediately back to their bases in Europe, in preparation for this weekend’s matches in various European leagues.

NAN recalls that the Super Eagles suffered various degrees of intimidation and humiliation in the hands of the Ethiopian security personnel and football fans.

The intimidation and harassment started when the Eagles were given a bus infested with cockroaches, on arrival, while the police team attached to the team usually took routes in gridlock.

This was deliberate to ensure the Eagles arrived late when it was time for training.

The intimidation reached a crescendo on match day, when all manner of soft drink bottles were hauled at the Nigerian players and supporters when the Ethiopians thought that they had been denied a goal in the first half.

Television replays later showed that Godfrey Oboabona cleared the ball off the line.

The attack on the pitch was taken outside it as some fans ambushed the Eagles and hauled stones at the team’s bus as it made its way back to Saro Maria hotel, after the game.

One of the heavy stones shattered the rear windscreen of the bus, sending all persons inside the bus scampering for safety and taking cover under their seats.

Nosa Igiebor, the Real Betis midfielder, was unlucky as one of the stones slashed his right palm leading to profuse bleeding that was immediately attended to by the team doctor, Ibrahim Gyaran.

    Betis probes Igiebor’s late return

The delayed return of Nigeria star Nosa Igiebor to Real Betis from the African Nations Cup a month later will be probed by the Spanish La Liga club, MTNFootball.com reports.

The club has already slapped a 15 per cent fine on the Nigeria international midfielder over his late return.

The club wanted to impose a higher fine of three months’ pay, but that is not allowed by the rules governing the Spanish league.

The former Lillestrom of Norway star joined the team Friday morning, about a month after the AFCON in South Africa, after flying from Lagos to Madrid on Wednesday.

A work permit hitch has been blamed for the player’s late return and according to the Real Betis official website, all parties involved in this matter will be heard to find out why the player stayed away for several weeks.
